New here - sidelined from exercise for a bit
Good morning, all! I read several intro threads and decided to post one. I am 33, recently divorced, and decided to make a change not to 'get in shape' or 'lose weight' per se, but to become more active and healthy all around.
I never thought these words would come out of my mouth, but I started walking/jogging a few weeks ago and love it! My active history includes dancing, volleyball, and casual biking too. Unfortunately, I had a setback a week ago today that is getting in my way and really bugging me. I was out jogging in a state rec area (with lots of bug spray on) and got bitten by something and it swelled up horribly. I have mild asthma in the winters, but this allergic reaction seemed to have triggered a moderate asthma attack that I can't shake. Two doctor's visits and lots of steroids later, I'm still sidelined and think I may have bronchitis or an upper resp infection now too.
Since I can't run, I decided this morning that I am going to have to make a more abrupt eating change to keep me going even when I can't exercise - so I'm going to try out the Sonoma Diet. I found this site while googling Sonoma recipes, and I'd like to find some people to share the ups and downs with!!
