Greetings one and all. I joined last year, but have not been around much since. I'm still needing to lose a great deal of weight, and have to do it without spending too much money, so I guess that means a LOT of walking for me I'm 46 years old, have a terrific husband and 10 wonderful kids(11 counting my new son-in-law). I'm also a homeschooling mom, looking to try to help my kids avoid some of my blunders in the health arena..so I'll be recruiting walking companions for sure! I'm looking forward to getting to know you all as we encourage one another.

WELCOME, it doesn't take alot of money to go for a long walk or to eat healthy. I prefer fresh fruits & vegetables, lean protein, low fat dairy and the least processed the better. Drinking lots of water doesn't cost anything either. You can do this. I never let myself get hungry. If I want something to eat I grab some fresh vegetables and snack away. Good luck to you. Commercial diets cost alot of money and most people just gain the weight back. The only way to do this is to eat healthy for the rest of our lives. It is a lifelong committment.

You're right! The point is to eat less and move more. The trick at my house, is keeping the 'good stuff' around longer than one meal If I find a great sale on yogurt and bring home 20, they're gone by the next day, and if I'm lucky, I'll get two, and my poor dh rarely gets any..Buying fruit is like that as well. Everybody LOVES the good stuff But they do sometimes BEG to have fruit for lunch instead of something else, so I guess I'll just take my lumps and be happy.
