New Loser here, I hope

  • Hi, Let me introduce myself. My name is Julie. I am 42, mom, wife, and fat.
For the past 20 years I have been struggling with my weight. I have done EVERYTHING to lose weight and failed them all. 5 years ago I had gastric bypass I was 250 pounds. Lost almost 100 pounds within a year. But, Have gained back nearly 45 pounds back of that. So, I could not even lose weight through surgery. It's so discouraging. I am trying so hard now to do this for the right reason now. I have been on this site years ago reading the blogs, used fitday on and off, tried every diet there is. But, nothing has helped.
I am just so tired of being fat, looking fat, feeling fat, being so tired. so tired of searching for clothes to wear when I go out with hubby and when i have to meet his new boss or clients. just knowing i am the fat wife.
    Its so hard.
My boys have just graduated high school and are ready to leave home for college and I think now its time to do something for myself.
I have been on a "diet" for a week now and have lost 4 pounds. So I am proud to have at least a start Its a beginning. I am hoping by blogging and reading and knowing I am not alone this time will be different.
I was reading Oprah and saw the article about 3fatchicks, and I said man I remember that site and hopped on. So here I am!
Its nice to meet you all!
Wish me luck and all that good stuff. I need it.
Heres where I am right now 198/193/150
  • Hi there, Juliepudding,

I know what you mean about losing, gaining, losing, gaining... The trick is not to diet but to make a life change.

Realize that you can't lose weight and then go back to your "normal" eating habits once the weight is gone. We have to learn a better way of looking at food and a better way of eating and being active.

You can find lots of great inspirational stories in the Goals forum--always a cheering way to start!

    Good luck!

    Jay
  • Thanks
I know that is the way I need to look at things. It's a new start of healthier habits. I am on my way!!!!
