I am looking for a friend or two that we can become friends via email and motivate each other. I have been working on losing weight for over a year now and somedays it is hard to continue on. It seems like it is taking forever to come off. So it would be great to have a buddy that we can talk/vent/motivate each other to keep going!

Hi and welcome. I always assume that when someone asks for an email buddy ... that they find find one thru PM's and go about their friendship privately. I'm sorry you felt left out.

Thank you for the suggestion, I usually read through other messages, it is good to read other peoples opinions and suggestions on things.
I am counting calories I have found that has worked for me and going to the gym three days a week. Last year I lost 34 pounds, I would like to see better results this year as I know I could lose alot more in a year.

When you are counting calories how many do you have a day?
I really need to exercise - the only type I get is holding my lager glass in the pub!!! Going to try and get motivated after the next two weekends - St. Patricks Day this Saturday and I am going away next weekend for my birthday with my sisters and friends so will be lots of eating and drinking involved. the devil always seems to win.
I am a terrible example for exercising. I do a little bit of everything and anything (or nothing if I'm feeling slothful). Walking is the best ... I really like it and can do it almost any time I want. I throw a bit of jogging in. I have some weightlifting equipment and enjoy that too. I even put on my mp3 player and just dance around the house.
Let me have a peek at your fitday ... probably at this point your best bet is just to tweak your foods healthier and get more active.

How long have you been dieting? I seem to have spent the whole of my life, or at least since I had my last daughter 26 years ago.
Have had dreadful weekend with too much alcohol - have had visitors over from Ireland for St. Patricks Day. Going to try and get back on track next week - am away this weekend so can't really do much.
Have booked holiday to Spain in August so that should give me some incentive - nobody wants to see a blobby on the beach!!
