First Day Round Up

  • Well, today's my first day on my new start at Healthy Living.

I had three goals for myself today.

-Wake up 15 minutes early and take the early train so I could get off a stop early and walk to work.

    -Do some strength training.

-Eat a healthy breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Well, I did get up early and had to face a grumpy boyfriend (who I woke up when I kept hitting snooze). But I DID get up 15 minutes earlier! Unfortunately I missed the early train by 3 minutes and had to wait another 12 minutes for the train I take every day. But I still got off a stop early and got my walk in.

I can't afford a gym at the moment, so I did some research on 'how to strength train without weights.' Came home from work (it was a hellish day!) and did some good old-fashioned sit-ups, press ups, lunges and calf raises.

This time I am not trying to 'diet' per se. I have been on sooooo many diets that haven't worked. So instead I am doing what my minigoal for today said. Eat healthy. It doesn't mean I can't have a piece of cake or a glass of wine now and again, but it DOES mean I'm not going to polish off a tube of Pringles every night before dinner anymore.

So how did I do? Grape nuts and soy milk for breakfast (mmmmm), leftover chicken fajita for lunch (just chicken, veggies and the wrap - no cheese), salmon, couscous and veggies for dinner. Fruit for snacks. I think ok!!!

1 Day down, many many many days to go!
