Question 40 Something

I registered yesterday and apparently am not very bright...I haven't figured out how to post a "post" inside a thread, but I have "replied" to others' posts. Perhaps one of the more experienced members could help this 40 something out with directions, because I seem to be a bit obtuse.

Anyone interested in a 40 something thread? It seems there are quite a few newcomers courtesy of the article in O's magazine and this is a BIG site! I spent much time yesterday trying to find "spot" and I really need to get established somewhere, because like the rest of you, I don't have hours and hours to be online--There is work to do!

Hi there!

Now, I'm not sure exactly what you're meaning about a post a "post" inside a thread. Are you talking about quoting what someone has said in a post?

There is a quote button on the right hand side at the bottom of each post....click on that and you'll respond w/that persons post in quote format. You can do that w/any part of the thread, meaning.....if there were 12 people who have responded in a thread.....and you want to quote the 4th person, just push the "quote" button on their post.....and your response will be at the end.

I hope that is what you're asking. If not.....I'm sure we can figure out what it is you're wanting.

Happy to have you a part of 3FC.

Welcome to 3FC I answered your other question down in the help forum. Hopefully between the two, you'll find the answer you were looking for

I think we have a 40 something thread around here somewhere We have whole forums for the 20s and 30s, and there are some very busy threads for 50+. I'll look around. There are a lot of us in our 40s here. We deserve special attention

Hi Kota!! You can either post a reply to an exsisting thread, or post a new thread. To post a reply to an existing thread, scroll down to the last post in the thread. Under the last post there's a button on the left that says "post reply", which will open a new window to reply,or you can use the "quick reply" box. Make sense? If you want to reply to someone specifically in that thread, do as Marti said and click the "Quote" button within the person's post that you want to quote.

As for where to post, you can post anywhere! I don't think there's a thread devoted specifically to 40-something's, but I am the mod of 30-something's and I can tell you that some of us are in the next decade, or closing in on it! Shhh, don't tell!

Hi There! You can also join in on some of the main threads. For instance, I go to the Forum calls 300+ . . . When you get there, you will see a thread entitled 300+ Weekly Thread 1095 (or something like that). Click on that and you'll see continued chats forever. You can post message in those main threads. Good luck!

So,...I clicked the quote button in LBH's reply to my post. LBH's quote is now listed above in this post, which helps since now I can see and remember what the heck LBH originally said...So, when I submit this reply "post", it should post in the thread for anyone to view although I am specifically answering LBH. Right? Well, I'll see in a minute won't I? Further, if I wanted to privately answer LBH, then I would submit a private message. At least I think that's how it works. So, bear with the technology challenged, and I will submit this and see what happens! Thanks again Lauren for your help. After I see how this works, I'll set out to answer the other kind folks who answered by cry for help!

Default 40 Something Still Practicing the Practicing...

Aha! I think I had a small lightbulb turn on; I understand the quote button inside of someone's post. Now, I need to figure out an efficient way to generally reply to all which I assume is to submit a reply to my own "40 Something" Thread...I think. I will try that next and see what happens. Thanks for your patience while I practice the rudimentary skills of communicating!

Cool Practicing again, this time with the reply button

Only difference is this method (reply button) gives me a title bar to use and the quick reply did not. I am becoming semi-literate.

Default I am now a genius in the making...

High Five to the Forty Something who is still practicing to become a savy communicator!

My next hurdle is to figure out the most efficient way to return to the Introductions Forum where all of the Threads are listed. Is it the back button? One would think so. Here goes.

Hello, I'm new here too. I'm 41, soon to be 42. A 40 something thread sounds good. I find this forum while looking for a review of beach body's hip hop abs by Shaun T. I wanted to know if they were any good before ordering them.

I guess I should go now and try to figure out how to post my intro. later.

Take care,

Jen from Michigan --- BURR!

Did any of you happen to notice this thread . . .

http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/showthread.php?t=105017

. . . just thought I'd mention it. Think it may be the only one that specifically entitles itself FORTY PLUS. It has been on the go for a couple of years now.
