Default New here, with some questions/advice

Hi. My name is Missy, if you couldn't tell from my username. lol I have been to this site many times for recipes, and love it. I have battled with weight all my life.

Ok, here is my question. What is the best program to use for weight loss on a very tight budget? Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

Thanks
Missy

Hello!

Welcome to the boards. They're nice, friendly, and my experience so far has been good.

Hmmm. On a budget? It would probably be best to follow a plan of your own. Or of a book. Maybe a whole foods sort of diet, where you don't buy any processed foods.

I mean it's hard to say. There are some great free websites for recording caloric intake, which is the best way to lose weight. I think *********** is one website... I can't think of others.

Someone will have a much better answer than me. But i'd thought I'd say hi.

On a budget or just generally I would recommend just counting your calories becuase that way you can still eat what you normally would but with portion control and you know what your limits are. Also, after about a week of doing it, you start figuring out what keeps you full longer what doesn't keep you full at all and so you start adjusting that way and for me at least it leads me to eat more nutrient dense food that keeps me sated longer. And it's free. You can use fitday or dailyplate or any of a number of free sites that allow you to track your calories or a paper and pen and you can just look up the calorie content of foods but i think having a program that does it for you is quicker.
I'm sure others will chime in with their thoughts

I'll second calorie counting. You can eat whatever you can afford and learn to eat within your calorie range. Fitday.com is indeed a valuable tool.
