Exclamation I'm not going to quit, right?

Hi!
(Oh, and that was your cue for a huge, resounding, "RIGHT!")

So I'm 23, still in college, and trying to get out of the rut I've been in for the past 3+ years... I haven't been actually "skinny" since I was 14 or so, but school/work/stress have really done a number.

Now I'm woefully out of shape, and trying to lose weight and get fit with minimal major changes to start! I know if I do too much right now I won't stick with it, so since "officially" kicking off two weeks ago, I've just been cutting calories and attempting to walk twice a week.

Now I'm signing up here so that I have that mental obligation to keep posting, and hopefully that will help me stick to things. I'm a horrible wuss who will totally give up at the nearest excuse, so feel free to kick me in the rear at your leisure.

As a testimony to this forum's awesomeness, there was already a perfect emoticon for that statement. Rock.

Hi there!

Welcome! I started my weight loss journey at above your weight, but roughly the same height and age...and you can do it!

This forum IS awesome, so find a spot where you're comfortable and start chatting away!

And if you need a kick in the rear...consider yourself kicked.

RIGHT!

No quitting! That word isn't allowed.

As the luffly above me said, find somewhere you feel comfortable here and start chatting away! Everyone here is full of support and encouragement, and understanding. It's really an awesome place.

Whoa. You all are fast.

Thanks for the welcomes - and encouragement! I'm still reading piles of threads and looking around, but there seems to be plenty of room to jump in. Glad to know there are good people here to keep up with the pants-kicking.

It's amazing what accountability will do for you. You're doing the right thing by coming here. And we will keep an eye on you

About quitting. It isn't really quitting ... ya know ... you still have to eat and you still have to move. The choice really is ... are you going to do that heavy or slim?
