Default A New Me By Next Year

Hello, today I have decided to do something about my weight. I am a carboholic. I need to lose over 135 pounds, but I am willing to take it off slow and steady and keep it off for good! I need support, and this feels like a good place to get that.

I believe the no flour no sugar diet is a good option for me because it seems to limit foods I know I shouldn't be eating anyways. Does anyone have any other suggestions for easy to follow, straight forward diets?

Thanks for providing a place to get answers, and for the answers you provide!

Welcome to 3FC - you'll find that this is a great forum for information and encouragement!

I started out close to your weight and have a similar end goal, so I can relate to your situation. So far, I've lost 45 pounds and I'm hoping to reach my goal weight some time in 2007 too.

I'd recommend looking around the General Diet Plans section for information on various popular diets out there. Personally, I haven't been following a specific diet plan but have been counting calories and just trying to make healthier food choices, along with exercising daily and it's worked for me. But, whatever plan you decide to follow, I think the most important thing you need to think about is whether this is something you can incorporate into your daily life without feeling like you've sacrificed all the foods you enjoy. I am also a carbaholic, so I knew that I would never last on the low carb diets, but by counting calories, I make sure that the carbs I do have are in moderation, and are as healthy as can be.

Anyway, just my two cents - but welcome aboard!
