Hi all. I'm rebooting after successfully having lost 100 pounds in 2012-2013 on IP, then regaining close to 75 over the course of the past two years. (I haven't updated my stats yet... apologies, but I'll get to it soon!)
Quick question: does anyone know of the availability of the strawberry-banana RTD drinks (or something very similar to them) anywhere other than purchased directly from an IP facility? I appreciate any insight (including links to other threads) anyone can provide about access to IP or IP alternative products available for purchase online.

oneuh2 01-15-2017 03:19 PM

SDChickie - welcome back - sorry you regained but you are not alone.

There are several threads all about IP alternatives -- I am not sure about banana strawberry drink, but I know that there are some flavored protein shakes by Quest you can get at GNC, and I see a number of folks posting about Light Muscle Milk in some interesting flavors - they had some special ones hit the market for the holidays. You might try looking up Muscle Milk on google.

Welcome to the boards - there a bunch of us doing re-boots -- I am very similar to you -- I began at 241, dropped to 156, regained 75 and began this month on Jan 4 at 231 -- down just under 10 lbs after 11 days. Another 66 lbs and I will be where I was when I stopped P1 the first time.

So don't be a stranger - join us here to travel this journey together!

:welcome2:

Thank you, oneuh2, for the welcome and the info! I will check your suggestions out.

And I will do my best to find time to get reacquainted with the group. I know it's so much easier to do this with support of folks going through the same thing!

When I was first on this diet in 2010 this forum gave me so much motivation. It helped to see all my IP family out there with the same diet struggles that I had. Back then this forum was so active, not as much now. I still love coming here to get the motivation and ideas I need.

Me too Coffeebean. I did IP in 2011 for the first time and the boards were crazy active then. I still like coming here when I am rebooting because I do get motivation. It helps to communicate with others who are experiencing the same struggles.

Day 14 for me. Still going strong.

Hi Everyone!

Coffeebean, welcome back. I remember you. Yes, I always get motivated by conversations on these forums. When I'm on P1 (as I usually am on a reboot) I always check in at lunchtime as I eat my delicious soup with veggies. I'm glad to see they are coming alive once more (The forums, not the soups...)

Jennydoodle and Oneuh, yes, those are the King Cakes that seem to be the rage here in Louisiana for January and February. I never thought they were worth the calories anyway, although some of them are "doctored up" quite well.

SDChickie, I always order from Nashua Nutrition. In fact, I use mostly alternatives that I get from Nashua. Every few weeks I stop in to my clinic, visit with my coach (as a friend, mostly) and buy a few of the IP products that I really enjoy.

So now for my excitement: Today, after only a couple of days OP, I'm down 6 pounds. True, it's mostly water weight and adjustment to the new (former) regimen, but I'll take it! It's great to see the scale back in the 150s and going in the right direction. Now to get the rest of the holiday weight off. Jeesh! It comes back so quickly after working so hard to get it off. Ah, well.

It does feel great to be back OP and to see the scale going down.

Have a great day, everyone! :)

Hello all - I am new to this site. I started IP on October 23, 2016 and am about 4 pounds from my goal weight. I've lost 34 pounds - very excited. I guess I'm a little worried reading the "reboot" posts. Not because people have recommitted and are rebooting, but just want to know what the pitfalls are that faced you as you went into maintenance. Anyone have advice, observations? Thank you.

Week 2 is done...3.6 lost. Less than week 1 (4.3) but I have been working out so I'm fine with the loss. This keeps me on track to hit my mini-goal of 15 pounds by the end of the month. 7.1 pounds to go!

Welcome to 3FC Ideal Protein - you can find some really good info on maintenance in the threads on 3FC -- there are multiple threads with Maintenance in the subject line so do a search and you will be filled with good info.

Also look for posts by Novak -- she wrote up some lengthy posts about her maintenance journey -- really good stuff to consider and absorb.

I hear that IP offers more support in maintenance now - some clinics offer maintenance workshops - 2 hour sessions for groups who are phasing off. Ask your coach about that.

Way to go on your losses since October -- :carrot: -- you have done very well. And you are right to be thoughtful and prepare for maintenance - keeping it off, in my mind, is much harder than losing.

To that end - I find Elizabeth Benton' s podcasts at www.primalpotential.com to be very good -- she really gives good info on mastering the head game as it is the most difficult part of ongoing eating management.

Today's blog post by Elizabeth is really a good one, I think.

Hang in, phase off, check in here and let us know how you are doing and let us encourage and lend support when you need it.

Hi all!

Day 12 in the books for me and it's going well. TOM has hit so I'm not expecting a great loss this week but I'm happy with any loss.

I lost a lot of weight in 2013 and put it back on, slowly but still, through a lot of poor choices on my part. I found I could do the maintenance phase fairly easy and it became routine but so did pizza and beer so...again, my fault. I know I can't eat like that on a regular basis but I did. And I'm not happy with myself so here I am.

And yes, there's something familiar about being back in Phase 1 and seeing all the screen names from the past - like going back home. Everyone is so supportive and there are some great recipes and ideas which I really appreciate.

Jo

Welcome back!! Sorry for your re-gain -- but glad you came back to share your journey and find support. Fortunately, we know we can do this - we did it before. This time we just need to do it a bit better.

Hi All,

I have been crazy busy (like busy as in working 22 hours straight back to back days repeatedly). I'm in 12 days on my reboot and feeling great. I haven't weighed myself yet. I don't think this will be a long reboot but we'll see how the losses go.

I made the most filling recipe for breakfast today (I have never found any breakfast options filling but that changed today). I made a mini loaf of bread out of 3/4 scoop of vanilla quest powder with a tsp of olive oil and 1/2 an egg white and 1/2 tsp baking powder and cinnamon and baked that at 350 for 15 minutes. I cut in half length wise (I made it the day before so I had no problem cutting it as it wasn't right out of oven) and toasted. I spread a little WF peanut butter spread and really was filled. I had made it the day before as French toast (I soaked it overnight in egg white and cinnamon) and fried it up and that was great too but I had thought when I made it, then it would make great bread for a sandwich and hence the PB toast.

Also, some other new things I have been doing is having a can of sparkling mineral water over ice with a few pumps of Torani sugar free syrup. I have been rotating among black cherry, peach, strawberry and raspberry. I really enjoy this. I don't feel as if it is having any impact on my losses.

Also, I am not a big fan of the Healthsmart chicken soup but I found a really good use for it which is to shred zucchini and microwave for 3 minutes and drain the water and pour packet over it so that it is like a pasta. Really satisfying! Tomorrow I will have my IP chicken soup (I save this to have as a soup) with 12-16 oz chicken stock with broccoli and I'll put it all in the blender to get it nicely blended and a much more hearty lunch.

And, I continue to just love my chocolate cake as my snack made out of IP chocolate drink mix.

Keep going strong everyone!

coffeebean 01-17-2017 08:52 AM

Day 16 of my reboot. I always keep celery with me if I am going to be gone all day. This gives me a snack with a little crunch to help me through the day. I also keep packages in my car that I can add to water if I need to eat lunch on the road. This lifestyle of eating is all about being prepared. If we are not prepared this is when the temptation of cheating occurs. Enjoy your day.
Nothing taste as good as skinny feels. We can do this.

Thank you oneuh2 - I will look at the resources you mentioned! I don't want to get ahead of myself - I still have Phase 2 and Phase 3 to go, but I want to be prepared for entering maintenance. Thanks again!

I lost weight for the first time on IP in 2011. I started in June and finished in Dec. I maintained from 2012-2014. In mid-2014, I changed my focus in my workouts and got some pretty terrible nutrition advice to support the volume and work load. I ended up slowly gaining back 25-ish pounds over the course of 16-18 months.

In Oct. of 2015, I decided to go "back to my roots", reboot on IP and change my workouts. I lost the 25# and got back into the mid-130's by Feb. 2016. I have been maintaining ever since. However, I happen to be rebooting to lose the 10# I gained over the fall / holidays because I simply overindulged and was not following a proper maintenance protocol.
