Yes - my body had fallen into a 2 weeks on / two weeks off pattern and I know I'm not the only one.
Remember too, there are SO many factors that can effect the number on the scale - and sometime I think those of us struggling with the thyroid have additional hurdles.
Not sure what you mean by "additional exercise" but the rule of thumb I've seen is 30 minutes+ = an extra packet...1 hour = 2 packets, etc...
and yes, WL generally slows down with the addition of exercise on this program.
Don't get discouraged - next week should be great again - hang in there!

So I go in for a follow-up Biospy today. Part of what's become my regular life with PCOS. Here's hoping all goes well

manadasquared, I hope everything went well yesterday.

I honestly need to stop being so concerned on the weeks I have poor results. I know that I am on a "good week" "bad week" rotation, but every time I have a bad week I question if I am doing things correctly, etc. At my weigh-in yesterday I was down 5 lbs. So add that to the .8 lbs from the prior week and I averaged 2.9 lbs per week across the two week span. This is great, but I bet next week, when I have a "bad week", I will worry yet again that I am doing something incorrectly.

Oh well.

Number 7 - you might get a little more help or response on the Newcomers Thread and/or the 2015 thread.... those two are threads that are very active.

Everything you describe was very typical for me on P1.
Constipation I'm sure you know is also part of low thyroid, but generally a problem on low/carb low/fat plans.
Magnesium Citrate was my saving grace - pill form every night and a little in the morning, and once a week or so the liquid form.
I also had about 2 weeks loss a month of lbs, 2 weeks loss of inches.

I think it's really important not to term things bad and good - it's all part of the process, which is all good!

My daughter (age 24) is considering the IP protocol, after seeing the success I've had with it. She has had hypothyroidism since she was 9 years old, and fights a constant battle with weight. I'd guess that she's at least 60 pounds overweight at this time. She's concerned that IP won't work for someone with thyroid problems, so it's good to read your posts and see how it has helped you all.

Any tips for her? Is the first week or two harder than for someone without thyroid problems?

I am not sure if my progress would be better if I didn't have thyroid issues, but I am averaging a little less than 3 lbs per week. I am on the regular IP program through a doctors office. Each time my thyroid prescription level is changed, I go through about a week and a half of feeling extremely hungry again. But, it goes back to normal. I think one disadvantage for me is that I didn't wait until they balanced my TSH levels before I started the diet. I needed to do something about my weight, so I decided to start anyway. I had about 60 pounds to lose in total (just like your daughter) and I am about half way there in 10 weeks, so it is definitely possible. I hope she gives it a try and it works for her too
