I'm almost at the 30lbs mark so I have some clothes that I can throw out rather than donate. My clothes were getting so old and ratty .... And tight. I absolutely refused to buy a bigger size because I didn't want to admit I was a size 22. So out in the trash they go.

You can still donate them. :carrot:

Various Goodwills that I have donated to will recycle the fibers of unsellable clothes. Very little actually has to go into a landfill - but sometimes it isn't easy to figure out where it all is supposed to go....

Here is some bigger picture info for you or anyone else who is getting rid of clothing: Recycle Now & SMART

Congratulations on the smaller sizes!

water is up, still taking 2 doses of Natural Calm, added celery last night and again with breakfast.

How are you doing today Beth? Hopefully better?
Livin I know what you mean, some of my things had gotten so old and ratty, like you, I refused to admit and buy the next size up, so I would squeeze in to some of the stuff.
I find that I am getting bored with the veggies. In the winter, it didn't seem to bother me, but suddenly I feel like I'm getting sick of things. I do try to rotate what I eat, but, maybe I jinxed myself by telling people how simple this diet really is.
Frawniehow are you feeling?

Guys I just read that the ip oatmeal the morning is a restricted.
If I eat this the morning, do I still get an ip bar as snack during the day ? I feel like my coach doesn't know much.. She knows the diet but she seems confused with the ip food.

There is an unrestricted oatmeal - if yours is marked R then you cannot have a bar later today...

Thank you for your reply oneuh2 :)
I got the maple syrup ip oatmeal with 9g or carbs. Where would I look for the R ?

9 carbs is on the package of IP non restricted that I have on hand. To be sure, check the website - www.idealprotein.com. You can see the products and compare packaging and if you click on product name it will show an R if the product is restricted. I think that R is somewhere on the box for the newer packaging, but I check stuff online that used to be restricted.

Ok thank You i just saw that !

Also the clinic I go to has almost no choice in ip food. Do you guys know where I could get more selection of its the only clinic in my city ?
I don't want to eat potato puree and chicken patties for 6months :)

Fiannalove: way to go on the WI. I love the mini-goals and the rewards to celebrate your hard work. It's a great way to stay OP.

I was the same way with my clothes. At first, I was wondering why I hadn't gone down a size when I lost the first 20, but then I realized it was because I was already in a size that was too small for me! Just this week, I finally got to go down a size (although I can still wear my larger size, they're just loose). My poor clothes were busting at the seams and screaming for relief!

The good news is I have a whole closet full of clothes I will be able to wear when I lose another 15-20. Don't you just love shopping for new clothes in your own closet? :)

Congrats on the 30 lbs!

Thanks Linda - I had a really bad stomach ache last night and started worrying about impaction :( maybe a little hypochondriac of me but I've never gone this long in my adult life that I remember - so luckily our friends w/ hubby's help got into their new house last night so we didn't have to go anywhere this morning. I drank a cup of Smooth Move last night and it worked like clockwork :D and I dropped 2 pounds!!!!! :o lmao!
Btw - like the little sneak there about veggie burnout ;) what have the staples been? Have you tried any of the lesser known veggies like chayote? Jicama? Have you been making any of the veggie recipes? It's funny because now that I am busier with summer activities, I am turning to quick and simple - like celery stalks and broccoli florets - up until now I've been making cauliflower rice, purees, etc. kind of time consuming so the celery stalks and simple salads are hitting the spot.
The chayote casserole I've been making isn't difficult though - and the rutabaga pork tenderloin (crockpot) couldn't be any easier :)it has been tough though b/c I've always been a melon girl and now Hubby is bringing fresh cantaloupe and watermelon in for his lunches *DROOL*
Honestly the worst temptation I've had in 5 months on IP - fresh cantaloupe

Congrats!!! lol-
Veggies have mostly been Cauliflower, Broccoli, and Summer Squash. I've bought the Jicama -haven't eaten it yet and threw one out because it spoiled and the Chayote- didn't like that at all. I eat a lot of celery and cukes too as mid morning snack cause they're free. I try not to venture in to the restricted ones.

Okay friends- I took the boyfriend out for father's day/birthday breakfast- my friend who runs the diner knows of my diet so ...I had 2 eggs over easy and 2 cups of broccoli- I think there may have been a little butter involved in the broccoli because they have it pre-made for omelettes and stuff. God, it tasted like HEAVEN!!! Anyhow- I figure that I will have a IP packet for lunch, as if it were my breakfast, I'll have my snack and then for supper, I'll have 4 oz of chicken and 2 c of veggies and then before bed, I will make a packet of the raspberry mousse. I will not have a restricted item today. Does this make sense? It's the first time that I have "cheated" if you will- I've made certain that the other times I went out, it was completely OP.

Destony that sounds like a great plan. I wouldn't worry about the better for a one time thing. That happened a few times for me on P1, I didn't even consider it off program, as it was it something I could do much about. And not intentional. I did occasionally some veggies back if it was really bad, but if the preparation seemed reasonable, I just chalked it up to a little extra fat that day. I always asked for them to prepare it without oil and butter, but if they used a little or if it was on the fryer, I let it go.

I hear us but boy Roasted / grilled Brussel sprouts are amazing! And the rutabagas are like sweet potato :)

So the smooth move really worked and things are 1,000 x's better / more normal - hallelujah ! :cheer: :o I know this is a little tmi but also could help others or let them know they're not alone...just weird too b/c this usually happens in the first couple weeks (or so I thought)

Have had a fantastic weekend! Dd10 did great at her recital, our concert Saturday night was awesome - I had prepped well before hand and ate a compliant dinner on the way to the venue. Finishing off the weekend at a Washington Nationals ball game with hubby and dd10 for Father's Day - they are leading the Pirates 9 - 0 - we like seeing Pittsburgh teams losing :D my one confession for the weekend - I ate the free hot dog (without the bun) with my Quest chips. I didn't really want it but was starting to feel a little light headed from the heat

Destony, I hadn't tried jicama before either. My veggie list was pretty ordinary (= boring) before. But saw a recipe here and tried it - slice 1/4nch thin, fry in a wee bit of oil, sprinkle with cinnamon and stevia. YUM. I've had this a few times for lunch.
Today I tried oven baked jicama chips (slice very thin, season with salt, garlic powder, anything else you like) - same as the zucchini chips recipe. I think they would have been OK except the edges got kind of burnt, made them taste bitter.
But I'm going to try skinny fries next time, I think they would be good too.
Actually, jicama is pretty good raw too, I'm going to start adding it to salads.

I tried the chayote but didn't really like it either. Maybe try it another way.

I'm still pretty new (just 7 weeks) but i've learned from everyone here that the diet works if you follow it. No cheating allowed. But there's a difference between an unplanned slip like your buttered broccoli and a planned cheat. I'm pretty sure everyone has had slip-ups once in a while. I know I have - fortunately all pretty minor. They're going to happen unless we can 100% control all our food, and that's impossible.
Bet your next weigh in will still be great
