Hi ON's,

Lots to catch up on here. I sympathize with those of you dealing with difficult child clients/parents. We deal with the same issues in the orthodontic office. We had some real doozies yesterday. I'm pretty happy to have a few days off from there.

WB Kooky! It's good to see you posting here regularly again :)

I hope those of you dealing with TOM and flu/colds start feeling better very soon!

I am pleased to announce that as of this morning I am only 1.6 lbs away from last year's goal weight and my body fat is back where it should be after this short bout of Phase 1. It's really amazing how well this program works. I'm going to start some Phase 3 days to prepare for our cruise next weekend. These holidays continuously get in the way of me staying at goal weight but such is life.

Happy weekend to you all!

S.

LUCCILOVE 03-13-2015 02:22 PM

Welcome back Kooky!!! Missed u. Glad to see u are doing well.

So have been going for lots of tests. Have to do 1 more next week I will have done 3 MRIs!!! So I do have gallstones (I knew I had these) and a new surprise---a torn rotator cuff!!! there are 4 or 5 muscles there. 1 is torn and 1 is inflamed.

So we don't know which one has been hurting me! I just got done a right shoulder blade MRI and have to go for a sternum MRI to see if anything is torn in those areas because those are the areas it hurt me the most last weekend. I had blood tests done and ultrasound of my abdomen.

I feel a lot better and I am trying not to bend or lift really anything and resting because I get so over stressed about stuff I get sick. I am a super type A. So I am focusing on eating right on IP and already have made my appointments for a GI surgeon and orthopedic surgeon consult.

So I shall keep you all posted. I have also had my TOM for about 3 weeks mainly spotting but I think my body is trying to regulate itself on IP and I have PCOS.

Have a good weekend everyone. I will know more next week and the week after but no more crazy pains for now.

Hawaii69 03-14-2015 10:42 AM

Hi everyone!

Lucci: glad you are getting those tests and will know soon what you need to do to get better. Good that the major pain is gone!

Steph; Congrads on the weight! You've done great and have been patient and continued to move forward. Going on a cruise sounds wonderful, wish we were planning a trip somewhere right now. We are hoping to do something soon.

Jenny; I am planning on doing a run today, won't be long but am feeling better.Glad that you have a great teacher to work with you in helping your daughter. That makes a difference.

Slip; hope you had a good eating week and the scale was kind.

Kooky; Thanks. I know that everyone on here knows the struggle of weight loss and maintenance. Its a good support system.

I am at my scream weight this morning but I do believe I'm retaining water. I was actually down a lb the last couple of days. So, I need to get back at the portions, calories, sugar is the devil and exercise. Its my one year anniversary as well Liana of maintenance so it does feel great that I'm sitting here and not where I was before I started IP. I keep trying to move forward and not backward. I look forward to another year of maintaining. Have a great day everyone!

Slipfree 03-14-2015 01:27 PM

Happy Maintenance Anniversary, Hawaii!!!! A wonderful accomplishment and well earned. You deserve a trip!

Luccilove, I am glad that the acute pain has subsided somewhat. Hope that the Drs. get things figured out soon. My TOM is messed up too. Seems to last at least two weeks.

Steph- fantastic that you have made so much progress! Wonderful dedication and inspiration. How is the coaching?

Kooky, how is your training going?

Jenny, did your week get any better?

As for me, I am having a pajama day today. It is pouring rain here, but at least it is melting the snow. I can actually see spots of grass in my back yard. Yay! I am fighting through a cold and TOM, so snuggling up for the day seems like a good option.

Jenny38 03-14-2015 05:12 PM

Happy weekend:)
Liana- love the slimmed ref. great score on the jeans, I bet you look hot in them.

Slip- hope you are cozy cozy at home in your pjs and feeling better. How did the meeting go with boss and parents? My week got better and am looking forward to having two day off at the end of next week.

Hawaii - happy first year anniversary on maintenance!!

Lucci- oh that is horrible about your torn rotator cuff given that you are already dealing with gallstones. I'm glad your pain is better. Take it easy.

Steph - the cruise sounds great. Good work getting back to your goal weight.

I am kid free till Wednesday :carrot: just dropped them off at my folks who will have the in Toronto for 2 days and then take them to the cottage for 3. It is March break for them so no school all week. DH and I will have date night tomorrow and enjoy the quiet.
My weight is 1lb above scream but inches measuring back to when I weight the lowest. Coach thinks I'm putting on lean muscle. I have been running greater distances, increasing weights, added an hour of swimming each week in the past month so this could be it?.. Eating has been pretty good this week and last week and not getting below 162. Just finished TOM so will see what next week brings. I would still like to be 159

Slipfree 03-14-2015 06:26 PM

Jenny, enjoy your kid free time! I think your coach may be right. Just keep working it. My parent meeting is Mon. morning :(

Slipfree 03-15-2015 10:54 AM

Good morning, so I faced the scale this morning and was happy to see that I am back in my range.:) I was dreading the scale since it is TOM, but I am glad that I forced myself to face the music. I am planning on another really clean food plan during the work week. Dinner at my parent's for St. Patrick's Day on Tues. I will not be weighing in after the sodium in corned beef! I think it was helpful to stay off the scale for the week, while dealing with my Spa UP pounds.

want2bskinnyagain 03-15-2015 11:10 AM

Hello all! What a crazy week last week was, glad it is over! My eating wasn't the greatest but I got thru and I am back on track now. I did get 4 days of cardio in last week as well. I see the trainer on Wednesday, should be interesting to see what exercises she has for me. Actually looking forward to meeting with her and getting started on a routine. I have read a lot about how weights can transform your shape, hopefull that is the case for my mid section too! I am going to give it an honest try. I have also been wondering how much of it is just skin. I lost 90lbs so there is some skin there and no amount of weight training is going to get rid of that. Anyone else have skin issues? That being said I am still going to push the weights hard and see what happens, can't make it worse. Lol.
Reading thru everyone's comments about up lbs and scream weight makes me feel better. I thought it was just me who couldn't control my weight. Glad to know this is how maintenence is! I did have a friend tell me after I lost weight "Now you are just like the rest of us. Up and down on the scale. " I thought she was kidding, guess not. Lol. But I would rather be from 150-160lbs then the 225-235lbs I was 1.5 years ago.
Hope everyone has a great week, may the scales be low and your spirits high!

KookySuki 03-15-2015 11:58 AM

Steph- Congrats on basically being back at your goal weight from last year! IP definitely works, but P1 is pretty tough. I know I had some slips and cheats when I was on P1 for 9 months last year, but I can't believe I stuck to such a strict plan for so long. Now it's hard for me to do P1 for more than a few days. I know part of it being hungrier when I go back on P1 because I'm no longer in ketosis. It takes a lot of discipline to do P1 and P2, so kudos to you and everyone else who is currently doing it.

Lucci- I'm glad your pain is gone, but bummer about the torn rotator cuff! I'm glad your taking time to rest to not further injure yourself. Ugh, TOM for 3 weeks sounds awful. My TOM was really crazy on IP, and I recently started taking bc pills because of terrible PMS/PMDD. It had gotten to the point that I was having two weeks of PMS, so my doctor put me on a very low dose bc pill that has the same amount of hormones for the whole month. I'm already feeling more human. It's amazing how much hormones affect our lives. I hope you get some relief from your PCOS and TOM.

Hawaii, congrats on your 1 year of maintenance!

Jenny- Hope you're enjoying your kid-free time and had a great date night with your husband! Congrats on your progress with your fitness! With all of that exercise you're doing and the inches you've lost, I'm sure your coach is right that you've gained muscle mass.

Slip- Congrats on getting back into your happy weight range! I hope you enjoyed your pajama day yesterday. I did the same thing yesterday and it was great! My sleep was really messed up this week with the time change, so I think I needed some rest. I took a nice nap and slept really well last night, so I'm feeling good this morning. Good thing because I'm going to hike today. I did ok this week with training, but could have done better. I need to enforce better boundaries with working late because when I do that, I tend to come home exhausted and not feeling capable of exercising.

want2b- That's great you got in 4 days of cardio. Weights really do change your shape. Prior to my weight gain that led to me going on IP, I was regularly doing weights/machines and toned up nicely. It gave my body a nice lean look. I have extra skin on my stomach too and wonder if it can be tightened up with strength training. Ask your trainer about it...I bet exercising with weights will definitely help that area. I think the rest of the skin tightening just takes time. My thighs had some extra skin that seems to look better now, but still have the tummy issue. : (. I'd much rather have it than the extra weight though!

Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

Hawaii69 03-16-2015 05:38 PM

Hi everyone; We are on page 2! Thought I'd send us back to page 1! Jumped on the scale this morning only to see 3lbs over scream weight again. But, I am determined to get back within range. I want to put in a good week. I hope you are having a great day!

Slipfree 03-16-2015 06:42 PM

Hi everyone,

My meeting with the parents went well and the father followed up with a letter recanting his rant. So glad that it is over! Now, I would like my cold and TOM to be done too!

Want2b and Hawaii, every day is a new day! It is so much easier during the week to eat clean. Hopefully the scale evens out over time- more good days than bad.

Kooky and Want2b, the skin under my arms is horrendous! But, it is what it is.

I am proud to be part of this thread. We are helping each other maintain amazing weight losses. Not sure that I could stay this focused without all of you.

KookySuki 03-17-2015 09:28 AM

Hawaii- Sending you positive thoughts to get below your scream weight...you can do it! I agree with Slipfree- during the week is easier. Do you drink? I haven't had alcohol for about 2 weeks and I think that helped me drop some weight. I really bloat up from alcohol...ugh!

Slipfree- Glad your meeting went well! I'm glad the father seems to have come to his senses on this issue. Hope you get relief from your cold and TOM! I think I'm having a mini-TOM right now because my body is getting used to the hormones in my bc pills, but it was such a relief not to have the terrible PMS I usually get. I did have some of it, but not nearly as bad. I just couldn't deal with the debilitating mood swings anymore that always showed up 2 weeks before TOM.

The scale is moving down. I'm almost to my content weight of 155. My clothes are already fitting much better.

Jenny38 03-17-2015 06:41 PM

Kooky - great work getting back to the low end. Want2b I have some of the "bat wings", and loose skin on my thighs and stomach. Only really noticeable if I'm doing the plank. But would rather deal with that then be 159lbs heavier.

Slip - great news about your meeting. This is a great thread you all have started and I'm super impressed with the commitment to keep it going. It helps me stay focused.

Hawaii - you'll have those up lbs off in no time. You are very determined and can do anything you set your mind to.

Date night was fun saw the movie about the man who broke the Enigma code in WWII great movie and a rather tragic true story. We went out and it was a definite treat meal but felt ok having it after my 27.5km run. p1 yesterday but still feel the salt and a little swollen from the run. Kids home tomorrow:)

Hope everyone is doing well

want2bskinnyagain 03-18-2015 05:22 PM

Hello all! Had my meeting with the trainer today. I think it went well. She made me a exercise plan to follow so that is good. Trying to get to the gym will be the hard part, and she doesn't want me to do weights on running days. I was planning to do running and weights on the same days! LOL I guess I will have to figure something else out.

Slipfree 03-18-2015 07:56 PM

Hi all,

Still sick:( Food has not been great. Have been making it to school-barely. Off to bed. Hope you are all well.
