Hi July starters!

I started 6/23 but my June thread is all but dead so I thought I would pop in and check on some of my favorite IPers.

I have 40lbs to goal but we all seem to be on a similar pace for victory.

NSV, tonight for fun I tried on the suit I wore to my rehearsal dinner the night before I got married and IT FIT!! :cp: It is a size 16 (from 20 years ago)....pretty sure sizes run bigger these days as I've been wearing size 14 clothes comfortably for the last several weeks. Anyway, tried it on for a potential Christmas party last month and it was waaay too snug. Think I'm starting to see the inches move faster. Too bad the boobs won't budge. :censored:

Have several favorite clothing items from back in the day including a first date dress with DH and some *cough* "vintage" outfits from my college days. I don't care how out of date they are....once I can squeeze my bod into them, I am so wearing that stuff!

Good Luck! I am weighing In today also since I missed Tuesday from the snow.

I technically started June also. My meeting was 30th but your right that thread is gone and I have been connected to this July thread from the beginning. You are more than welcome here..... Oh and the boobs....mine won't budge either. My band size has gone down from a 44 to 40, but cups stay the same :?: I have always contemplated reduction surgery....may have to really consider it when I am done IP.

You know what, my first day was June 30th too, so technically I'm not a July starter either - it's just where I fit. Maybe our next thread we should call "Summer 2014 Starters...." :carrot:

Good luck with WI's today ladies!!!

Late WI for me too due to snow. Down 2.4 this week. My last few weeks have been either 2 or 2.4 - slowing down from my 2.5/week pace, but at least its consistent. As of today, I am down 76 lbs - that is almost 29% of my starting weight! And I am finally out of the 190's!!

Went to a meeting last night where I saw lots of people I hadn't seen since October. Got lots of comments about my weight loss. Finally, after 75 lbs, people are noticing!

Have my annual physical tomorrow and get the results of last weeks bloodwork - I am looking forward to seeing what my blood sugar numbers are now.

Hang in there everybody!

Thank you for the warm welcome!!

GL tomorrow Loser. One of my favorite days since starting IP was my doctor visit when I was a good 60lbs down. He was so happy for me and I am off all RX meds for the first time in many many years. Your blood work is going to turn out great with all the clean eating you've been doing. :)

Congrats on your losses, Loser58 -- to be down 75 lbs (in your case 76!) is terrific!!! Can you believe it when you look at the current numbers on the scale, versus the numbers back on day one? Welcome to the 180's!
And congrats on the flattering comments by your friends. You deserve all the recognition - you have accomplished great things!!!

Welcome CenTXChk -- you are absolutely welcome to join our little crew who have aligned with the July 2014 cohort. We are heading for the barn - all of us are more than 50% through our P1 journey, and if we hang in there, we'll be sharing our adoption of successful maintenance practices together! Glad to have you with us!

Cool idea, JJTX! The August 2014 group seems to be continuing on - maybe we should see if they want to connect up as one 'Summer 2014 Starters' group!

SGrealtor1: Good Luck! I am weighing In today also since I missed Tuesday from the snow.
How did your WI go today? Very well I hope!!! Thanks for the 2 bag tip with the Smooth Move tea - I think that helped me have such a good weigh in.

I just returned from that WI -- I lost the one old pound, the previously lost one that I had regained last week (YAY!!!! :cheer3:), PLUS another 3.4 lbs! making my departure from the 180's absolutely official - Loser58, I hope you pass through the 180's very quickly - see if you can catch me in the 170's!!

Regarding the bust measurements... I too have decreased in band size but not cup size. I remind myself of that old lady cartoon character in vintage Playboy magazine who had low hanging boobs... My overall bust measure has declined, though and most every top or sweater I own is too baggy to wear. It will be interesting to see what happens to them as I get closer to goal.... I might be considering reduction, too, Sue.

Right now, I am jazzed to watch the Biggest Loser finale on TV -- I love seeing the end results achieved by all the contestants. I am pulling for Sonya, the former champion softball player, to win!

Yipee, Oneuh2!! Nice to see a real whoosh 6 months in. Don't look back at those 180's - keep your eye on the 160's!

Love compliments! I saw a bunch of people Wednesday night at a tricky tray and these people had not seen me in a while. So many comments! So happy...

Lol as long as we stick together we can be called whatever we need to be called lol....

Ugh first week I had a +1 at WI....so aggravating! But I did not falter...actually lost 1.5 inches. Came home made my lunch and moved on....but not before I had plenty of negative thoughts in my head! Ugh when will the self doubt end. I know I was on program, but to see that 1 up I was like ...damn I should have had that wine at the wedding lol....anyway I have regrouped, talked myself off the ledge, ate perfect yesterday and I have planned for a good day today. DH and I have plans tonight for dinner with friends and we are playing a card game. It's a potluck (yes I'm old lol) so I am bringing a veggie platter and lemon Rosemary chicken. Someone is bringing a salad and shrimp so there should be plenty for me to eat and I of course will plant myself away from the food...

Well I don't know if we want to stage a coup since they are still alive and kicking! :D

Maybe "July Starters, all are welcome..." It was just a random thought and we won't need a new thread for a while, unless we get really spammy!

Congrats on your WI, what an awesome week!!!!

I'm sorry about your pound, and the negative self-talk. Believe me when I say I completely get it

I'm very proud of you for NOT going off the deep end!! Have fun at your potluck, I know you'll pass with flying colors :)

*************************************************

Had my annual follow-up with my sleep doc yesterday (I have apnea and use bi-pap). Not only was she excited about my weight loss and lower blood pressure, but she said she was turning down the settings on my machine because the data download showed I'm getting too much air pressure now that I've lost weight! I'm going back in 6 months this time to recheck everything, hopefully I'll be on or close to maintenance by then.

It's nice to go to the doctor and have a positive experience!

Yeah for a good Dr. Experience! :carrot::carrot:

It took a lot of talking myself off the ledge to control myself, but in the end I realized that I have come so far....I can almost see the finish line or at least the finish line is closer to me than the starting line! I need to do this so I buckle down and do it.

Good news!! I bet she was so happy for you. Love positive Dr appnts. :carrot::D:carrot:

Wish my DH would get checked for sleep apnea. He is always so tired and I can hear him at night. So stubborn!

Good for you for hanging tough! Amazing how we can be truckin' along and one bad week can creep negativity into our heads. You did the best you could on your trip this weekend given your food options. Hoping you see a bigger loss at next weeks WI!! I bet you were retaining water from your travels still.

I have my own travel challenge today. Taking DS to a campus open house so he can start checking out colleges. The agenda includes lunch in their cafeteria...why am I thinking this will not bode well? Maybe food quality has changed since I went to college 25yrs ago. Not sure how I did it but I'm out of lettuce so it will be a challenge to pack my own lunch. Wish me luck!

Hi Ladies - I started in September and there never was a group for us! I was reading the thread about upper body and had to laugh because I was just telling a friend of mine about my diet situation (she hasn't seen me in a month and 1/2 but knows all about the diet). I'm thrilled at my progress, really seeing the pounds and inches move. BUt, I have the opposite problem with the chest reduction. I have always been pear shaped and on the average/smaller side up top. Probably the only remotely positive thing about being fat was I was getting generous up there. Now, it's freaking me out because it feels like I"m losing disproportionately It started out just the band size but now it's noticeable in the cup size. I wish it would stop and redistribute to my bottom, legs, and arms!

me too! I feel like I am losing the weight from the top down. Face first, then bust and rib cage. Still waiting for the waist to catch up to the rest.

It is true - I have always felt that I gained from the bottom up and lost from the top down... I have a neck now, and my face is tremendously thinner - it is the first thing old friends notice. To be honest I feel that I look older - all the plumpness has disappeared.

Shasta10 - come join our July gang as a regular! We are a small but determined group and glad to have you with us!
