Struggling with some conflict and strife in my personal life at the moment, so I'm finding it nigh on impossible to eat, and I can count the number of times in my life that I've been thirsty (rather than drinking to ensure I take in fluids) on the fingers of one hand. Hoping I can relax and shake the elephant on my chest before it harms the ketosis. Fingers crossed I feel less cowed by lunchtime. Times like this I wished I did yoga or some form of meditation.
I'm sorry to hear this...I hope you can peacefully work through your situation and be able to relax. Hang in there
I wanted to share my great NSV. I cleaned out the closet in my spare room on Saturday and decided to try on some jeans that I had, I didn't think that they would fit, but I found five pairs of jeans that fit me!! I was able to pull them up and zip them with no problem!!
Kellyc14- I love finding things in my closed that fit now!
PishPosh: I have been thinking about the same thing. I want to loose 17 more pounds. At my current rate of losses that will put me at the end of the year, unless there is a major slow down. I don't mind being on P1 through the holidays it think it will make things easier. But the thought of two more months....Argh! I'm experiencing dieter fatigue. I'm in my 8th month on IP.
Didn't have my usual Sunday whoosh that has been happening for the last month or so. Hopefully it will come during the week.

Best feeling ever!
I'm at the office today and we are having the place painted.. He is painting in our only bathroom this could be a challenge. Good thing I drank 40+ oz at home before I came in....today may have to be a lite on the fluids day LOL
In other news, I am still shocked (in a good way) when I put something fall winter on in the morning and I am amazed how it fits. Keep in mind tops wise I have nothing in smaller sizes that 22/24 for the most part..some larger 18/20's but that is it. Thinking it is only the beginning of the season and they are already huge..will never get thru the winter LOL....

Right?
I did a closet/dresser inventory this weekend. I have zero sweaters, long sleeve tops, or a heavy coat. I found a Columbia Fleece in medium at a resale store this weekend and that will have to keep me going for a while. I must find a heavy coat as I am going to visit a dear friend in Idaho for Thanksgiving. It will be VERY COLD. I don't knit fast enough to make myself some sweaters!
Awesome Kellyc! I find that getting down to the next size is one of the biggest motivators. I bought a pair of size 10's to look forward to.
The scale finally moved down 3 lbs this week (after 3 weeks of 0) but this morning I stepped on the scale again and it was up 2lbs...I am really hoping that it is due to ovulation/water retention. It would be so disappointing to sit here for another week.

It's odd, I was so excited to fit into my size 16 dress pants (I bought them 4 or so years ago, they were too small but the price was too good to pass up) and i've been dressing up every day for work, but now they are getting too big on me and the next batch of pants I have are all jeans. LOL I'm not sad though!! I'm happy to go down in size!! My shirts will all soon be too big, for some reason I didn't keep any of my smaller shirts, but that's OK with me!! Sizes are SO different too! I have a batch of 16s that are getting loose, but still wearable, and some 16s that I am just fitting into and a few 14s. I'm pretty sure the 14s either run big or have some stretch in them! and then I have some 14s that won't go up over my hips lol.
TOM is on its way and I'm having chocolate cravings. I went and got some EAS Chocolate Fudge Shakes last night so I can have one for my afternoon snack. I usually don't get chocolate cravings at least not like this. I baked my Quest Bar yesterday into little cookies and they were oh so good.
PishPosh - I've moved my goal weight around a little bit as well. I think you just need to do what you think feels right for you.
I'm having a problem mentally as of recent. Like, my brain hasn't caught up with the fact that I've lost weight. Even this weekend when I bought a smaller size (a whole size smaller than where I thought I was), I'm still looking in the mirror and seeing someone who is really overweight. I have been getting a lot of comments from people that are positive and good as well so I know they can tell I've lost over 40 lbs but it's hard for me to realize it. Sometimes I look in the mirror and am like "I look smaller and am getting to where I want to be" but recently I've just been looking in the mirror and seeing all the problem areas.
Pishposh. I phased off recently because I was 2 pounds from goal and had an event coming up that I wanted to be able to use a fun day. I know it's silly with it just being one day but I also felt ready. I am in my first week of P3 and I have lost 7 pounds since phasing off. Pants I bought the weekend before I started P2 are too big. I still have a belly and hope my body will reshape a bit. But I now have my buffer loss too with 10 days to go. I still question if I should have stayed on longer but I really want to maintain this loss and I think I can do that where I am now.
Yay for weight-loss and NSV on here the past few days, I've been away from the computer being busy wife life!!!!
PishPosh....I had the same experience as ChipnDip and quickly started losing in P2 and lost throughout P3 also. All in all, I lost an additional 7 lbs (that included extra pounds down and a little regain) during my month of phasing off. I really think my metabolism just go used to the very low restrictions on P1. Now, as I learn to tweak maintenance, I have to fight against my instincts to continue to restrict calories, but know this is NOT a healthy way to maintain weight loss. It is a fine balance to find a weight that is both manageable, realistic and well-fitted to your physique (or expectation thereof).
My opinion: a short stint in P2 may rev up metabolism which you can decide to keep riding out (for me, I LOVED the extra weight loss but could hardly stomach the amount of protein), phase off or just go back to P1. Even for me in maintenance, P1 is a switch I could make at any time should I feel that things are not going well for me. I am doing my P1 day today after a fun day and thoroughly enjoying it (wouldn't have said that at the end of my P1 stint).
Transitioning to maintenance and then healthy maintaining is VERY mental. Whether you stay on P1 one or not, your journey doesn't end there....P1 is certainly not the only way to lose weight or change our bodies either!
... but could hardly stomach the amount of protein...
This is no exaggeration. I just choked down less than 8 oz of chicken breast (plus 2 c. cauliflower) for lunch and ugh - am feeling absolutely stuffed. I almost brought salad too but am so glad I did not.
pishposh - do you have the Force? Because you're totally reading my mind today. I'm in the same boat (wanna share a paddle?). I have to update my ticker, but I'm 5lbs from goal as well. But I just went on a massive shopping spree for all new clothes (sold my size 8/10, bought 4/6 - yikes!) and I feel really good in my clothes now. I'm also losing hair at an alarming rate. So I decided once I'm through the last 2 boxes of soup I have (my typical lunch) I'm going to move into P2. I think it's just time. But I also haven't been 100% OP and managed to make smart decisions that didn't effect my weight loss, so sooner or later I need to trust the new skills I've acquired during P1 and let myself fly. I agree with evemomma too about your metabolism getting stuck - I've hovered around the same weight for weeks now, but when I was on vacation and had a fun meal, when I went straight back to strict P1 the next day I lost 2 lbs. I'm planning on living my life in a combination of P2 & P3 though going forward indefinitely, I think, because my allergies have never been better on this diet.
kissi - I'm right there with you. Not 10 minutes ago a woman I work with complemented me on how skinny I look (both women I work with are on IP as well), I said "thanks - but I still see a fat girl in the mirror." So my head is still in a chubby place. That's another reason I want to phase off - eating more "real" food may help my mind catch up a bit.

Are you talking about food allergies or seasonal ones? My seasonal allergies have been almost non-existent this past year. They are usually really bad. I have started to wonder if ketosis could alter how our immune system responds to allergens or it it is just the lack of a particular food in my diet.
So many people having similar thoughts & experiences... After a weekend of contemplation I decided to go to phase 2 today. I realized that I had to listen to my body & inner voice & rather than push things down for some 'cushion' extra lbs loss I will phase off & focus on a healthy maintenance.
So many times we listen to others telling us we are getting 'too skinny', etc... & I came to the realization that I am extremely happy & content where my body is at and 148 is a place/weight I want to stay. May sound corny, but I had to be still & listen to my inner voice to come to this decision.
So in a nutshell I would advise those questioning themselves about how low to go to listen to yourself and no one else - you will know when it's time
Well, I could be disappointed today, or I could lean towards being really happy! After a weekend in Las Vegas, and having little control over my food, I have managed to NOT gain weight this week. As a matter of fact, I still lost .6 pounds!
What could have contributed to this small loss?
- Not enough water: I know I wasn't drinking enough water. It's difficult to carry around, and you can't just go into a restaurant for a glass of water.
- No control over my food prep: you can only ask for so many food changes before the kitchen gets ticked. I did my best, but I'm sure it wasn't all on protocol.
- Lots of walking: normally that would be a good thing, but with my low calorie intake, too much can stall losses.
- I sometimes forgot my snack: whoops, I really have no excuse except that I was tired, and it was late.
All in all, I think I did a great job, and I am 100% happy to be home, and back on track today!
