Hello everyone, Thanks want2b! I had a great first day on P1 and am already feeling better. I'm sure that the time will fly by. Its helping to be more organized once again and when I phase off, I will have to continue planning my meals. Recipes look good Liana and Hiker. Nice to hear from you Schenectady! And thinking of you Slip! A big hi to the rest of you October 2013 Newbies!

WI day for me, back into the 140's!! I went to the store today and stocked up on P3 breakfast necessities, I am taking the plunge tomorrow and moving to P3. Gasp! I have read lots about P3, got some breakfasts that I have worked into MFP to make sure they work with the plan, so I think I am ready. Hopefully the last few pounds will go away in P3 as well.

Want2b, enjoy phase 3! I loved that Phase, all the new tastes. I am so happy for you. :yay:
Hawaii, glad your Phase 1 day went well. Schenectady, I am happy to see you here. You have been missed. Fun book club tonight. Not a maintenance friendly dinner, but I kept my portion small and no vino. Liana, keeping you and your family in my thoughts. |
Hello friends! A year ago today I started my weight loss journey, and what an amazing year it has been. As of this morning I have lost over 88lbs, still a few more to go. I have gone off BP meds and feel amazing. I have gone from a size 24 on the bottom to a size 10 and on top I was a 2X-3X and now a M-L.
Every day there is something I do that I realize is so much easier now, or I do something that I never would have tried before IP. I have so much more confidence now. I don't try to hide in a room full of people because I am ashamed of my size. And the biggest surprise for me this year, I think is how much my thinking has changed. This quote sums it up perfectly for me, "Your body can't go, where your mind won't take it". It is so true, every time I thought about giving up in the last year I thought of this and was able to push thru until the motivation returned. Thank you all my newbie friends for being there for me this past year and picking me up when I was down, couldn't have done this journey with out you. I also edited my profile pic. The pic was taken this August. |
Happy Anniversary to everyone!!!
Thought I would pop in. I am sorry if this post spoils the excitement of everyone's weight losses. I am finally getting settled into the new house. I did not do so good in maintaining my weight thru this time period. I was at 180s now I am back to 210!!! Started at 240! Clearly stress is my enemy = food! I have been reading everyone's updates I just did not know what to say. I was trying to think of words on how I feel about my massive weight gain. I am just really deflated about this. I think there were several issues I had that lead to me to this weight gain. I am not making excuses rather how it progressed. I am back on P1 though I will say it is very hard for me to stay on this. I feel if I don't do it this time around I might not make it! I think I should not have gone in to maintenance when I did - I feel my clinic rushed me and once I was on P4 I really did not take the time to understand it - at the same time I still had a big move etc. I think timing was bad and maybe I thought I was cured??? but now I know I will never be cured of my food issues. I give those who were able to keep the weight off lots of credit - it is a daily battle. So proud of you guys! |
LUCCILOVE!! Good to see you are back! It's very hard to be newly working maintenance when you've got a lot of new stuff on your plate to concentrate on. The great thing is that you've learned to not go too far again, and know how to get it back under control and at your healthy weight. Don't fret about having to do P1 for a bit... that's what we learn in this journey, how to move forward with positive actions! P1 is your solution, not a sign of 'failure.' We just need to remember that we always have to be aware of our nourishment; mindless eating is good for nobody and even naturally slim and healthy people consciously make their choices. They don't necessarily have to struggle with defeating self talk, but they still have a short conversation in their heads about choices they make.
We all know you can do this! After all, you've done it before... and you will be back to goal before springtime! *group hug here* :grouphug: Liana |

Want2b, happy Thinaversary! I am so proud of you. I also appreciate your hanging in there and posting on the thread all the time. Where is the picture?
Did you start Phase 3 today? What did you eat? Luccilove, I am glad that you are back. Keeping this weight off is a constant process. Phase 1 is hard, but being overweight is worse. I know that you can do anything that you set your mind to do. One meal at a time. Liana, very wise words. |
Slip: my pic is under my profile. At least that is where it was supposed to go. Lol. I did start P3 yesterday. I had 2 pieces Silver Hills little big bread, 3/4cup Greek yogurt, 1/2banana, 3strawberries, 2 pieces turkey bacon and 1tbsp PB. It was yummy. I do have a question, it says 25g of protein(or more) is that total, so I would include the Greek yogurt protein count and protein count for PB too? Thanks for checking up on me.
Lucci: Glad you had the courage to get back in plan and come back to the boards. We are here for each other, good times and bad. IP is a hard plan nut you know it works, you dd it before you can do it again. Keep posting and putting on foot on front of the other until the motivation comes back. |
Yep, skinnyagain... protein is all counted including any showing in your veggies, dairy, fats, or starches (I'm thinking mainly beans here - if you use those). On a personal note I would much rather use legumes for my carbs than grains since there is so much fibre in them that it lessens the net carb count, and you can eat more volume that way (mainly thinking about maintenance here though). But chili is yummy for breakfast, lol. Top with a bit of grated cheddar and plain no-fat greek yogourt, and have fresh fruit for dessert and there you are - another P3 breaky especially if you add in some good veggies to the chili like peppers and onions.
|
Liana: Thanks for getting back to me, that is what I figured but I thought I should ask before I get too far into it. And chili sounds great for breakfast, I love non traditional breakfast foods for breakfast!
I am still plugging along. Picked up a few other things at the store, like waffles! So excited. I am planning to make pancakes for Sunday breakfast so I will have leftovers for part of the week. Life is good! LOL Now to just keep on track over the weekend, always my downfall. |
Want2b, I am always hungrier after eating waffles, even the high protein ones or high fiber ones. Glad that you are enjoying the new food additions.

The stress that causes some of us to eat the way we do is always going to be there, sometimes big and sometimes little. We will always fight to not let it overcome us, to remember some of the things that the Beck Diet reminds us. We can only pick ourselves up and try again. Do not beat yourself up over this and you CAN do it again. Remember the sweet feeling of setting in smaller new clothes, of looking in the mirror on purpose. It is a high that nothing else can beat, so go to it. These ladies in the October group are the greatest (I am August but there is no one left there). They have your back and will walk you through it. |
Schenectady: your post was perfect for me too. There is no cure, we have to learn how to live with the stress, the temptations, the events that come up. Someone on the boards also said it is also about making constant choices, good or bad for us, and I truley believe that. I think the naturally thin people of the world are so used to making the right choices that they don even have to think about them anymore, but for me it will always be an internal struggle to make the right choice. How are you doing?
Lucci: How are you doing? You did this once, you can do it again, and again if you need to. If you fall get back up, no matter how man times it takes. Slips saying comes to mind now, "progress, not perfection". We are never going to be perfect but we can be better then we were yesterday. Hawaii: How is the reboot going? Still pushing thru? Slip: Thanks for the heads up on being more hungry with the waffles, I will watch for that. Another reason I decided to start p3 when I did was because I was starving at 10am with just my shake. And so far the p3 breakfasts have helped with that, and my weight seems to stil be in check. Last night DH and I went to visit the friend who got me onto IP, her DH said I was wasting away! Never thought I would here those words about me, ever! Made me laugh. She also kept her jeans from before her weightloss for me. I tried them on in May or June but I couldn't even get them up, let alone closed. Well last night we tried again, not only did I get them up, they closed! I am so excited, proud of myself, beyond words. So now I have about 10 pairs of jeans, all brand names(silver, Mex), some new shirts and a bikini. Still not sure about the bikini, I will have to decide if I will wear it in the Bahamas in Nov. Walking on cloud 9 today. Hope everyone has a great Sunday! |
Want2b, your post made me smile :) I am glad that you are feeling great and that you have new clothes.
As for me, pretty sure that I had food poisoning last night after going out to dinner. Feel fine today and a positive side effect- the scale is reading at goal. Need to get some chores done today. Busy week coming up with parent conferences on Wed. And Thurs. nights. Hope all of you are well and that you are having a great weekend. |
