Want2b, Thursdays are tough! So are kids. Sorry your day stinks. You are so strong! I could not even have a can of coke in my house. Coke was my gateway to way off plan eating.
|
Having a better day today, thank goodness. Still feeling a bit off but not snapping at everyone, which is good for my family! Lol. We have our Thanksgiving weekend this weekend, so it is a long weekend for us. Hopefully some sleep in days and some retail therapy will help with the mood. I am really needing some winter clothes, I have nothing! Hoping I can find some good deals this weekend.
Hope everyone has a great weekend! |
Want2b, glad your day is better. Happy Thanksgiving and happy shopping!
|
Hi everyone,
Hope all of your weekends are going well. The sun is out here, but the ground is wet from a bunch of rain. I need to do some planting tomorrow. Today I have indoor chores, like laundry and some organization of the clutter. A year ago, I was all stressed out about the refi of the house. Seems so weird that time has flown by so quickly. Yesterday was Dad's 75th birthday and a free day, so phase 1 for me today. |
Well the shopping didn't go so well. I found 3 long sleeve shirts and that was all, couldn't find a winter coat that I liked. Most of them are black this year, what is up with that? Normally I go for black since it is supposed to be slimming but I figured this year I want color! I will have to keep looking.
Food wise my eating has not been great this week either, I was 152 this morning, good bye 140's. Had a great workout this morning and lots of water today. I know my weight goes up at TOM month, so I know the scale will go down again, but I hate seeing the up numbers once a month. I guess I need to look at the big picture and compare how I was a year ago. Slip: Congrats to your Dad. Did you get all the work done you needed to? How is the P1 day working for you after a free day? Do you just do the one day or do you do a couple of P1 days after? I know for me when I have a free meal it takes a couple of days for the scale to go back to where it was, maybe that is because I am doing P2 all the time. Just curious how you are finding P4 now that you have been there for a while and have gotten used to it. |
Want2b, I usually only do one day of Phase 1. It is it not a great day, because it usually follows a day that included some wine :(.
If the scale is up a couple, I do not worry. It usually drops back down within a couple of days. Phase 4 is constant choices, some good- some not. I am being careful about making corrections after a slip. Sometimes, I just give in and enjoy the slip. But now, I do not allow it to become a slide. For me, it is all about progress and not perfection. I also need to weigh in every day. I use the weigh in as a data point in where I am, it helps me plan for my day food wise. Sorry that your shopping did not go well. I am trying to find a dress coat too and have not found anything that I like. As for TOM and the scale, ugh! Not to mention the pms and cravings, double ugh! This journey is about more than one week's scale readings. Hang in there, my friend. |
Happy October Anniversary everyone!! I'm anxiously awaiting some reflective posts on how your life is a year later....
Its been a struggle to get back on P1 but I think I finally got my brain back in gear and on plan... I'm looking forward to losing again.. AND my clothes not being so tight... sure glad I got rid of ALL my bigger clothes (all 8 sizes) cause I refuse to buy anything in bigger sizes. The fear of having to go to work naked helps motivate me!! LOL! I will be enjoying another day off since its Thanks Giving weekend for those of us in Canada. Not sure if tomorrow will be a productive day or a lazy one.. winter is coming and I have things to do before hand!! My new haircut made me wonder if yours is still short Slip??? Did you let it grow over the summer or is it still shorter?? Have a great week:) |
Hi Hiker!
Love your new haircut! My hair is the same length as yours. I am glad that you are feeling back on track IP wise. Smart decision to get rid of the larger sizes too. So happy to see you on here again. You have been missed. Happy Thanksgiving. |
Hello everyone;
Tomorrow I start on P1 for two weeks to get some of these up pounds off, looking forward to it. Need to get my head wrapped around the plan again but definately easier the second time. I already know what I don't like and what works. I will need to get some more groceries but should have enough to start out the week. I can't wait to start seeing that scale go down again! I weigh daily so will be great to feel more in control of things. I will tweak my exercise back a bit but am still planning on doing it. I will just walk instead of run or go for a shorter run. Nice to see Hiker back and you and Slip look very classy in your short cuts!! Have a great week everyone! |
Hiker: love the short hair, Happy Thanksgiving!
Slip: Thanks for the in site. I think the key to success for me will be getting back to p2 after my free day, and letting it turn into a free week, month. Hawaii: 2weeks is not long at all, you can do it! You know how the plan works, what works for you, so give it your best for those 2 weeks. Happy Thanksgiving! I got some great exercise in the last couple of days. Yesterday I did 40 minutes of bootcamp exercises followed by a 1 mile run on the treadmill. This morning I did a 2 mile run (no walking) on the treadmill. It is amazing how much easier it is now and I was also surprised at how much faster I can run. It is the little things that make me happy I lost the weight! Lol. |
hey everyone:) I've discovered a great dish that I can prepare ahead of time and I just have to heat it up at meal time... I cook ground meat and then mix in a ton of vegis.. once its cooked I throw in some eggs (mostly egg whites) The only challenge is figuring out how much meat/protein is in the bowl when I weigh it.. so far its great for me to come home and heat up at lunch since I now have to walk my dog at lunch... (saves time) yes... still feeling sorry for myself!!
Tomorrow I have to fly out for budget meetings for a couple of days... fortunately I have another sister in that city who won't think I'm strange if I want to come over to her house to cook supper rather than go out... makes staying OP much easier... I will only have to worry about lunches in restaurants and its always easy to have a salad with a chicken breast or something. Hope your having a great week! |
Since I was doing a P1 day today, I did a little tinkering and found a good sub for Greek Salad:
Usual onion, cuke, tomato, peppers, BUT sub in a 1/4 c dry cottage cheese for the feta and capers for the olives. Tastes better if it can sit for a couple hours with the dressing and spices on it as the cottage cheese isn't as flavourful as feta. Still quite yummy though and the 1/4 c cottage cheese was only .25g fat and 1g carb and 11g protein (Foremost brand). Technically cottage cheese isn't on P1 unless you are on the alternative diabetic plan - but it's very useful for a take along to a potluck, or on occasion when you feel like Greek salad on maintenance but it's time for a carb meal. Hiker: Good luck with the budget meetings. At least you can visit your sister while you cook! Lol
Liana: I love Greek salad, I will have to try it with cottage cheese next time. Slip, where are you? Hope you are doing fine, just been too busy to post. |
Hi all, iPad wasn't allowing me to post earlier. Just spent tonight reading my entire book for book club tomorrow. "You before Me" going to be tired in the morning.
Both the recipes look good. Stay strong, friends. |
Congratulations on all the great successes you all have reached - big ones and little ones! So many wonderful stories and great looks from all of you. Hooray to you all at your one year mark and many more great more to come.
