I saw you asked last nite about heartburn (GERD or reflux) returning with carbs

When I started p3, mine came back & I had to learn what to have checked and what to do

Most doctors these days only know how to write prescriptions. I wanted a cure, not a med to take forever.

This guy is really smart & knew what I needed! Additionally, if you have colitis, you may want to do some extensive reading about the role gluten plays (restricting gluten helps many autoimmune issues such as colitis, hashimotos, irritable bowel, and more). Here is where to go to learn more about heartburn http://chriskresser.com/heartburn

I suffered horribly from heartburn before IP! Every time I had heavy carbs. That is one of my favorite side benefits of being on IP for me. I was taking at least 2 Zantac a day...I haven't had one in 3 months! I'm going to save that link for later!

Lisa, What are your current favorite Syntax Nectar flavors? I bought a sample of the chocolate. I found it to be too watery but I felt really satisfied after having it so I want to try other flavors. The truth is that the IP chocolate drink has ruined me forever. I don't think I'll ever like another chocolate protein drink. I'm thinking I might like flavors that are supposed to be more watery (like the lemonaide).

Good Morning Everyone...

Lisa thanks for answering Shelby, I was wondering if someone had an answer. Pre IP always had heartburn, now nothing....I'm happy but now know what to look out for in the upcoming phases....love all these women full of info!

Getting a massage this am. I go once a month I conjunction with the chiropractor for my back and neck issues. Most are probably related to my weight, and have not had back pain in a month, but love my massage therapist so I continue to go regularly.

More laundry to do today and some paperwork has to be worked on, but other than that a slow day for me for a change...

Another thing to check - I had terrible reflux prior to IP and shortly after starting it stopped. Then it came back again at about the same time I developed an abdominal hernia - turns out I had a hiatal (did I spell that right? it's early) hernia and an h.pylori infection. IP didn't cause any of it. I was really bummed to have to go back on the reflux meds but boy do I pay if I miss them!

Morning, all.
Staying home today to fight off some sort of allergy/cold funk. Sore throat and headache are no fun. I'm hoping that if I take it easy today I can keep it from getting worse. Oh well. Maybe I can get some chores done today.
Have a great day today!

Take it easy and feel better sooner. I have to say, my taking it easy would probably not include getting chores done. lol

NSV I saw a thin me in the mirror this a.m. I walked naked in front of a full length mirror as I do every morning (TMI I know, sorry) and actually noticed myself. I actually could see that I was thinner. I silently said to myself....you are thinner. It actually sunk in, It was right there in front of me.
This is very timely for me. Today is the beginning of my 9th week and for the past 2 days my mantra has been.... I am losing my resolve.
I have been reading the posts here and I have to say that is what has seen me through the last two days. I hear loud and clear that a number is a number, that any loss is a loss, that everyone goes through a slump and that if I need support it is here.
It is my WI day, that is where I was headed when I saw myself in the mirror. Funny how the universe works, I was dreading stepping on that scale for no particular reason except the dialogue in my head......and then that quick, clear true image of myself emerged and I was certain I could and I would alter my attitude and carry on!!! Iam so grateful for all of you and your wisdom.

Well, I'd been seeing people posting about feeling tired recently and man, has it hit for me! I'm in my second week and just feel wiped. Not only that, but my motivation is low - I'd like a day in bed, but it's not possible due to a super busy work week (which doesn't help the tired either). Hopefully my body will adjust soon and that energy some people get in ketosis will start making an appearance. In the meantime, I'm wishing for a nap.

Good Morning,

Super happy that I have made it to the 150's.. Whooo hooo

I too suffer from Gerd and have for years. It has been better while on IP as long as I stay away from onion. I still have to take Zantac a couple times a week.

I don't know what it is about dropping down a decade, but it's definitely the most satisfying of all losses, isn't it? Cheers to you!
