Like others, I HATE having my picture taken. I never used to...so this has been the hardest for me. I definitely look forward to the day I can take a picture without dread and dress in cute clothes. I will also be more willing to go out with friends for fun nights out. I have been too embarrassed about my body to really go out lately.

I hate photos too. One thing that motivated me to lose weight was seiing myself in my sons wedding photos. It was depressing for sure. I hope to.

feel better about myself
get rid of this belly so I can see my toes
not have high blood pressure
not be winded when I do anything physical
not always be thinking people think I'm fat
wear normal size clothes
and most important MAINTAIN

I buy almost everything in 3-quarter length sleeves. You should see me shopping. haha. I can tell in my clothes that I'm losing inches in my arms. After P1, I'm going to put in some work to get those arms looking right!!!

I agree with that. I have noticed some wiggle under my arms since losing. I hope I can firm that up during maintenance. My son mentioned to me yesterday that I should start lifting some small weights LOl

Triceps extensions or kickbacks will help the muscle hold 'things' up more firmly, but if there is excess skin there it will hang a bit anyhow. I notice at my age I am starting to get the 'delayed wave' from under my arms when I raise them up to wave to someone vigorously. I still have definition and strength in the triceps/biceps, but the skin is a little looser than when I was 40, lol.

This has got to be the best response so far. Love it!

I agree re: the airplane seat... in recent months I am having trouble sitting in many seats, including my own dining room chairs that have arms... I have become too wide.

And while we are on the subject of travel/transportation, I am riding the bus now to commute to and from work -- I'd like to fit into the bus seat without pressing against the regular sized person next to me. Another good change to work toward and look forward to!!

That will be my biggest challenge. Oneuh2, about the "hands falling asleep" comment, I just got diagnosed with carpal tunnel syndrome and that is a major indicator. I never knew -- just thought my hands always went asleep. Just want you to maybe look into that if needed so you can do exercises for your wrists etc and catch it early so surgery is not necessary
Thanks so much for thinking of me IP43! You are so right! I have been examined for carpal tunnel and I have a moderate condition, have some braces for my hands, tho I don't wear them ALL the time. I have a trigger finger and continue to notice little pains in my hands as I keep using the computer mouse so much and of, course get older with every passing day.... I find that when I do lose some weight, the frequency of limbs falling asleep and waking me up seems to diminish. I'll take whatever improvement I can get.

Wow - I can really relate -- first off, I have tried to get thru life incognito by avoiding cameras ever since I was a teen and began to put on extra weight. And, the tendency to stay home rather than go to a dance party has really kept me under wraps over the past year. I had lost about 25 lbs and regained those plus another 20 since this time last year. I have been so embarrassed that I have stopped going anywhere if I can get away with not going. It is such a depressing feeling to not want anyone to see me.

But those days are coming to an end for us -- nat1015 - you are off and running per your start date & weight and what your profile shows as your current weight! Way to go!!!

Absolutely --
... and I have to agree that even steel armor and sword fighting would be appealing after so many years wrapped in lycra and spandex!!!
