Default Beck diet Solution Daily Tip

Here is the one from yesterday. So important to remember!

June 30, 2014 - Monday Motivation

If you feel discouraged thinking about how much weight you have to lose, keep in mind that it’s not as if you have to lose all the weight before you start feeling good. EVERY pound you lose along the way feels better and you can experience significant improvements both physically and psychologically long before the last pound has been lost.

Default Just started ketosis

Good morning! This is my 1st post to the daily chat. I started IP this past Friday. The weekend had some hunger, headaches, and fatigue but Monday I felt good. Lots of energy - so I guess I'm in ketosis now! I'm trying a variety of packets and this forum helped with packet hacks (like adding cinnamon or vanilla extract to improve the taste). Since I weigh in on Friday and this week is July 4, I have to wait until July 11 for my 1st official weigh in. But I'm checking the scale at home and already feel that belly fat getting looser (like a waterbed).

I hit a milestone this morning, weighing under 190. My coach suggests that we not weigh daily but I have sleep apnea and I keep a daily record of my sleep events along with the weight (I've been charting weight and apnea events for over a year). I've been on the plan since June 10th, I hope to be on to phase 2 by July 15th.

Default Good morning!

Lisa, thank you so much for posting that tip about not being overwhelmed by having so much weight to lose. It is something I am working through these days.

Pinup2b, welcome! Glad you have found some ideas to make things more tasty. Hang in there as the first few days can be the hardest. Your weigh-in on the 11th will be amazing!

I am happy today because my mom is coming back into town to visit over the 4th of July. I am thankful that she is super supportive of my dieting efforts so having "company" is not as stressful as it otherwise could be. We are spending the next couple of days getting things ready for the annual parade-watching party we host for friends here in town. Our parade is about as textbook Norman Rockwell as you can get, and I love it!

Hope everyone is doing well. Kelly and Amber, I hope you are both feeling better!
Have a great day!

Thank you- I need to hear that every day, but I really needed to hear it today.

Good morning! This is my first post on the daily chat thread and I want to say how positive and encouraging you all are.
I'm doing the plan using alternative products and lost 9 lbs in my first week. The first few days were hard but now I'm finding it pretty easy. I feel good and I'm not even craving the foods that I used to eat.
I have osteoarthritis in my knees so losing weight is a must for me. I'm also type 2 diabetic and so far this way of eating has been great for my blood sugar. I truly hope that I will see some improvement in the level of pain in my knees as the pounds come off.
Anyhow, I wish you all the best!

Welcome!
I have 90% rehabbed a really bad back (complete with deteriorating disks and bone spurs). Although it'll probably never be 100% again, IP was a HUGE impetus in giving me the motivation to do the therapy necessary to get it back in shape. Stick with IP 100%. No cheats. It really works!

I'm leaving for the beach tonight and I can't wait! I also weigh in tonight, so I'm going to make sure I stock up on packets that will be easiest to take with me. We'll be at a condo so I can actually cook instead of trying to find IP-friendly meals on the boardwalk. I just can't wait for this work day to end!

Default Tuesday's Beck Daily Tip

Tuesday Reality Check: It’s important to keep in mind that emotions aren’t harmful, and nothing bad will happen as a result of experiencing them. If something sad or stressful happens, it’s appropriate to feel sadness or stress! And, you don’t need to do anything (like eat) to make negative emotions go away – they always pass, 100% of the time.

Oh man! this is a hard one for us stress eaters (or boredom eaters or any other kind of "negative" emotion eaters) but a good thing to remember!

Emotions are neither good nor bad, they just are. We just prefer the ones that uplift us!

Woohoo! Sounds like so much fun! And yay for being able to cook your own meals. Makes a world of difference. I'm excited for you!

Before my weight loss I couldn't even walk very far or stand more than a few minutes. I'm amazed that my knee doesn't even hurt anymore unless I walk for a really long distance....and then just a few minutes of sitting gets me going again. Huge difference!!!

64peppergirl - so glad to hear that you have reaped the benefits of the weight loss. I pray for some relief once I get more pounds off. I love to walk and go to the gym and I haven't been able to due to my knees.

I have hope!
