Hi everyone!

I am with all of you. Tomorrow marks the first day of my restart (I have been trying to restart for awhile). I can't stand the way I feel. Lately, I have been overeating just because of the anxiety of my regain. It all came back sooo fast (Like 2 months). We can get this figured out!

A part of me wants to try something different, but then I remember how wonderful it was to step on the scale every day in maintenance (when I was actually doing it right) & weigh the exact same. That was wonderful & I felt great!! Can't wait to reach my goal again. Do you mind if I tag along with you?

Welcome back! I think I gained so much so wuick for the same reason, anxiety over regaining. But we're making the right choice back on IP.

You are so right, IP43, about now being the time to identify the triggers - and gear up for maintenance from the beginning. And YvetteSki - good idea to name it - losing is much easier than maintaining.
Good to know that there are so many of us all around, working away with similar issues - aren't we brave?!!!
I am finding that my biggest trigger is tiredness, followed closely by frustration - often when I am in the midst of trying to make a difficult life decision. Then I could eat my own arm!
Had a slip this afternoon after a tiring night & day - & ate some butterscotch candy that sits on our counter at work. Done. Over. Now to continue OP - have stocked up on lots of fresh vegies & will prepare extra for work tomorrow, & take an extra bar with me - just in case.

Good planning for today westwillow. And my triggers are the same as yours. I don't get enough sleep (two more weeks and then I nap! LOL) so when I am up late, you're right, it's tough not to get the munchies. But that is probably boredom over hunger. I need to get some celery or something ready for those times as it's too easy to grab a bar

WELL I am amazed day 2 and BELIEVE it or not I sorta got the not hungry feeling... I did really good yesterday all day and then went home and found the last of the Cantalope I had in a bowl in the frig plus 2 large apricots My Scotch ancestor says I can not let them go to waist so I ate them... So guess maybe today is my first day of being legal

Starting again is a beautiful commitment to yourself and your health. IP is hard but so is being overweight, maintaining, etc. as one of the other posters says.

What's important is not to get down on yourself or feel discouraged. We have a life to live and celebrating ourselves is something worth doing...not necessarily with food It's a journey but I believe we can make it fun and enjoyable.

Still here - working away.

My losses slowed for several days/weeks, but I am being more careful about portions & NO BITES of anything off-plan, although I am experimenting with alternatives & am very pleased with most of what I am finding.

Frustrating to see that most alternatives are either restricted snack items or are not easily available in Canada. But great to have alternative snacks & I am looking forward to mostly whole foods soon!

Goal is getting closer

Jumping on this restart bandwagon because of similar emotional issues. I had a new job last year, am in the process with my spouse of deciding whether or not to get a divorce, plus, I'm a teacher, so I'm at home all day during the summer with my own kidlings so I get bored (there is only so much Littlest Pet shop play I can handle).

Telling myself I can do ANYTHING for 30 days, but also not doing 100% IP. I just think I would jump out the window without my cheats (mushrooms sauteed in actual butter, for instance.) We'll see how it goes!

I'm back!!! Today is day 7. Notice improvements already. In October 2011 I lost 70pounds on IP. Maintained within 15# for a year then over the next year slowly gained back most of it. Then awesome trip with Dd and DH. Traveled for 6.5 weeks, mostly in Alaska, where we ate way too much fish and chips plus salmon spread plus crab legs. Needless to say I am just about back where I started. Sigh....

So here I am. Back at it. 100%. Glad to join you all.

Sorry to hear that you're struggling with your spouse -- that adds a lot of anxiety for sure. However your comment about your kids made me laugh. I'm a teacher too and loving my holiday BUT my boys have been fighting a lot lately and I'm already looking to see how many days till THEY go back to school!~ (although I'm not wanting to shorten my holiday at all)
Perhaps I should look into some day camps before we all kill each other LOL

Restarters - does anyone have any sense about water weight gain, when you phase off IP? I know my coach says it's 3-5 lbs but I am convinced it must be more. I can't find a thread about it, but wondered what you all thought.

You won't necessarily go through that...3-5 is average but we are all individual, just remember it is NOT FAT! and will settle down once you are in maintenance. A few of us actually lost weight in Phase 3/maintenance and are still doing fine. Don't worry too much about it as you are just getting your muscles ready for more work - exercise can be bumped up to normal once you are phased off and you will still lose inches although possibly gaining a bit of water weight. Ruth Ann & I had both lost inches in maintenance.
