Weighed myself this morning and have GAINED three pounds. I am 100% OP and drink more than the minimum amount of water. I am frustrated beyond belief. Used the same scale as always, first thing in the morning blah blah blah...if by eating less than 1000 calories a day, not enjoying my meals, depriving myself of the things I like, staying away from food related events because there's nothing I can have, refraining from the occasional glass of wine, not exercising, nor running because I'm too weak to do so etc...isn't going to cause me to shed weight then I'm out. Tomorrow is my official WI, it needs to be MUCH better than today!
  • I had my second weigh in and it has not been a full week because of the holiday ( 4days) down another 2.5 lbs! almost at my 10lb mark! I am getting exicted
  • Quote: Woah! Quite a multi-quote!

I have been using the Premier Protein RTD shakes since early on, and I lose just fine. I normally buy the smaller size bottle (when my Sam's Club has them in stock), which has 100 calories and 18g protein. This matches very closely to IPs nutritional stats. (You can find these guidelines in the thread that Lisa linked above.)

If I have to buy the larger sized shakes, I just use 1/2 bottle at a time for 1 packet replacement, and stick the rest in the fridge. They have too much protein in a full bottle to be IP compliant. Remember, this plan is low carb, low cal, low fat, and MODERATE protein.
I love your multi task quoted post! Good tips...thank you!
  • Quote: I have to laugh, when I first saw a post about Big-mac in a bowl, I took it literal. I thought it was a Big-Mac from McDonalds in a bowl instead of on bread. LOL

I can't wait to try this recipe!!
    Haha, so funny Kelly!

I can't wait to try it myself! It sure gets rave reviews!
  • Quote: Week one WI I am down 8.4 lbs. I'm so happy.
Jemma! 8.4 lb loss! Whoohoo! Job well done! Now onward to week 2...Kill it girl!!! Oh and make sure to get those vitamins in, they are equally as important as eating correctly. Edited to say.... well maybe not equally as important but very important!
  • Quote: I tried the Big Mac in a Bowl last night and it was delicious. I made a few tweaks though, which I think could be helpful for someone having trouble getting in all their veggies. I made two servings at once, so I will have leftovers for another night. I mixed in 2 cups of mushrooms (chopped into small pieces) with the ground beef. I only used a small amount of lettuce and put 1/2 cup of zucchini (shredded in cheese grater) on top. I'm not a huge 1000 Island fan, but I did put some on my bowl and it was pretty good. I AM a huge hot sauce fan, so I put some Frank's Red Hot (make sure it is 0-0-0) on too. It was yummy and will be my "rainy day" meal from now on, since I usually grill when it is nice outside.
so much for posting your tweaks to the Big Mac bowl! I was thinking last night that I think it would be good to add in some veggies..good to know it was good that way as well!

Julz! Do not let yourself get discouraged and talk yourself into throwing in the towel! There are many reasons it could be. And I am 100% certain you did not gain 3 lbs of fat since your last weigh in. You are doing wonderful! You stay strong, and focused! Read these top 15 reasons that could cause a temporary weight gain when low carbing...I find them very helpful ------> http://authoritynutrition.com/15-rea...low-carb-diet/
  • I have been "lurking" on here for a week or two...just kind of getting a feel for what everyone is doing on their specific program and it is so helpful. This is my 6th week on IP and I am loving my body transformation. I am SUPER tight on money right now, so I am considering switching to alternatives, but I am afraid that it will ruin my commitment (or understanding of what I am eating). Its been really easy being on IP because I really don't have to make many decisions...there is a plan already put in place. Did anyone else feel this way when they switched? After switching, did you find yourself just as successful??? I'm nervous because I have lost 20 pounds so far and am really wanting to continue the weight loss I am seeing (roughly 3 pounds per week)...any insight?

Congrats on your weight loss so far!!!! This is my 7th week on IP and hopefully will be at 20 soon (but don't think I'll make it for my weigh-in tomorrow).

Anyway, I started doing some alternatives when I traveled a few weeks ago. It did not effect my weight loss at all (even while traveling). Luckily, my coach is fine with me using alternatives along with IP food -so that is what I'm doing now. My favorites are Quest bars which I prefer to the IP bars/wafers (and are half the price of the IP ones).

It takes a loooooooong time, but reading the IP Alternatives thread is really helpful. You will get lots of good ideas about on-plan food to eat. I just started making lists.

    Good luck!!!!
  • constipation!!!!!!!!! I need help.. I am not even doing the 3 shakes a day just two. AND YES I AM EATING LOTS OF LETTUCE, CUCUMBERS AND PICKLES

First off... Shelly!! I'm so happy you decided to come out of lurking mode and join us!! Second... on your 20 lb weight loss! That is just amazing! I can't answer your questions about making the switch from using IP products to ALt. since I started with only using Alternatives...mostly real food actually. I am sure someone else will chime in and help answer your questions about this subject very soon! Again, congrats to you and I'm very happy you decided to start posting! Looking forward to getting to know you better
  • Julz, do you think you are consuming more salt than you did before? You may be holding on to more water if you are, and that may lead to the scale being higher, but this is only TEMPORARY. Once you lose the water weight the scale will budge in the right direction. I understand being discouraged, but you can do it!!!
