I lost 8 lbs the first week and 2 the second. For several weeks after that my losses slowed down. I had many weeks of 1 lb loss and even a couple of weeks where I gained. Those weeks were exceptionally busy and I did not add additional protein, as I was not aware of that option. You will have lower losses on some weeks and then higher losses, but generally won't repeat the big losses of week one. Believe me when I tell you that you will lose 2 to 3 lbs per week on average by the time you hit goal as long as you relax and follow the protocol. Everyone says, get your water, get your salt, get your oil and eat the amount of protein and veggies and don't add items that are not on the P1 sheet, so I know you have heard this before, but it is SO TRUE! Also, keep track of your measurements, as those will drop on many weeks where your losses are lower.

Go ems70508, way to stay away from the cake.....I always think I want to eat something, but the feeling of wearing smaller clothes is so much better than any food tastes.

She is also the one that encouraged me to get the ketosis sticks and told me to use one every three days. Last time I went in for weigh in i asked about the meal replacement shakes (so you dont have to eat the two cups of veggies), and she encouraged me to buy those as well for convenience. Im still phase 1, and read somewhere that the meal shakes arent allowed until phase 2 i believe.

Im feeling very mislead!

The meal replacement shakes are for Phase 3 breakfasts.
If you have a coach giving you those, run FAST from that clinic and find one that knows what they are doing.
There are no replacements for the veggies.
You can always throw spinach in a breakfast smoothie!

I'll sit back in my desk chair and enjoy the fact that I no longer have 70 pounds on my body, remember how delicious my chocolate drink was this morning and how amazing it'll be to wear a two piece this summer :carrot:

So proud of you! Man, when something hits you hard, it is relentless! You are definitely rocking this program. We had a bunch of special activities at school this week, and on Tuesday, the admin brought in doughnuts and hot choc for the safety patrol. Well. Those darn leftover doughnuts called me all freaking day! I did a happy dance when I went into the workroom at the end of the day and so,eone had eaten the last one. (Of course, they left the empty box on the table...that is a discussion for another day...but I felt victorious putting that box in the trash after surviving the temptation!)

Thanks for the inspiration. I am not sure about a two piece, but I am excited about getting a new suit this summer!

I'm starting to think I'll lose .5-.9 a week on average if I'm lucky... I just don't know. I'd be thrilled with those results on a "normal" diet, but this one is sooo hard and so restrictive (not to mention pricey), so I'm getting kind of discouraged.

I didn't stick to the plan 100% this week - I slipped up once and had a few bites of cheese, and I don't always get in my 4 cups of veggies. I also eat a lot of Splenda and I wonder if that's holding me back. It's hard, but I'm trying to stick with it and stay positive.

So, I'm in the same boat as you guys!! At least we can support and encourage each other :^:

As others have said, you need the veggies- all of them. I would cut out the Splenda, too, at least in the quantity you are having.

Reenhag I hate how it calls ya all day!

So my friends and I are cooking IP dinner tonight out at my family's farm. We don't live out here- just a weekend spot. We are making vineson burgers from a deer my dad killed a few weeks ago. We decided to roast some Brussel sprouts. I told them that's an occasional veggie for me. So they wanted to know why it was catagorized for us like a tomato or edamame. So I looked up the nutritional values and it seems similar to broccoli to me! Anyone know specifically why Brussels are occasional??? I think is eat them everyday if I could!!

I would assume sugar, but I did not look at the stats yet. Are the stats for the same amount as the broccoli? I, too, love the brussels sprouts, especially roasted.

Comparing 1 C of each on MFP; cooked without oil or salt: calories are similar but the sprouts have 7 net carbs compared to broccoli's 4 (after subtracting 4 g fiber in each) and sprouts have 1 g fat that broccoli doesn't have.

Are you eating your veggies WITH the protein?
Which ones are you having?

... Sorry, I don't understand ...We can use this chat thread another day... ?

But to answer the veggie question... I usually have the protein drink first and then my veggies...
My veggies are straight from the list... I steam broccol, spinach or cauliflower for lunch... Dinner it's some combo of them plus the salad -lettuce, with apple cider vinegar - garlic & onion powders. At times I'll throw in zuccini, celery, green onion, green peppers, mushrooms... But No more than 2Cups. Dinner is hard to finish all the salad and the veggies... I get to full. The afternoon crash is the worst.. Any thoughts ? I'm very greatful ... Thanks!
