  • I will look for the TEAVANA!! I have never heard it - we have a place here called Yokes and I will check there! Know what I will be doing this weekend now lol!!

    Have a great night!
  • Take this for 1 week ...

Then Use 1 or 2 caps a day as maintenance ...

Take 1 heaping teaspoon of this mixed with some herb tea ... every day

If you take this, problems solved!

You will go 1x or 2x a day (easy) ... and so clean you wont even need toilet paper most of the time. Talk about a healthy and clean colon.

The first 2-3 months on IP Phase 1 (without these products I noted above) I was constipated all the time, and I was straining to go. I always felt like I had to go, but couldn't.

After a few days on this regimine, no more problems during IP Phase 1. Like night and day.
  • Thanks Avalon - I am going to do a cleans this weekend - then maybe try some of these.

May I ask where you purchase these items?
  • I'm glad I'm not the only one experiencing this. I've only been on the program for 2 weeks so I think I'll give it a little more time before I try to take any laxitives or teas. I have been going to the bathroom, just not as often as usual. I'll probably wait it out unless I start to feel uncomfortable.
  • Many people experience constipation on IP. Here is some more information to add to this thread.

There are many things to try for constipation:

Eat all your greens and veggies, and then add some free veggies.

Drink all your water and then add some more.

    Drink Smooth Move Tea.

    Miralax.

    1000MG Vitamin C

    Probiotics daily

    Benefiber.

Extra Magnesium 500 to 1000 mg.

The extra magnesium is what has worked best for me. As Lisa said in another thread, there is also less volume since there is less food eaten.

    Hope it hleps.
  • 1 tsp of magnesium citrate every evening does the trick for me! I had constipation troubles prior to IP as well.
  • I also drink Smooth Move tea and it helps out in that area I only drink it when I absolutely need to because I have heard your body may become dependent on it. But I figured once or twice a month can't hurt.
  • Smooth Move is a laxative. Use any laxative sparingly b/c your body can build up a tolerance to them.

Natural Calm (mag cit) works well for me.

And, also remember, we're consuming less so we'll be eliminating less. Some people think they're constipated if they aren't as regular as they were when they were eating more food. Just worry about constipation if you have some sort of discomfort.

The Ultimate Probiotics can be purchased at Vitamin Shoppe. They work.

I also find that if I am a little sluggish that increasing my water intake and having lettuce and cucumber with both lunch and dinner really makes a difference.

The other thing is to make sure that you are having your 2 tsp of healthy fats (olive oil, coconut oil, natural butter) as these will keep you going.
  • I started taking Pearl every day, it's a probiotic. Seems to work well and you can buy it in the grocery store or Walmart.
  • I also have been cursed by the big C. I followed advice on this thread upped my water intake, upped my mag citrate and started enzymes and probiotics. It seems to be doing the trick.

Is this regime you have shared in your post a combination that functions as a stimulant? or is it more like a cleanse with ongoing probiotics? Will it promote dependence on these products -- will the body begin to rely on them until it cannot function without them?

I think it has been suggested that daily use of Smooth Moves tea (a stimulant) might promote dependence. Just asking if this regime would function differently.

I am not as knowledgeable regarding this stuff as many on this site are, so I am looking for a bit more info.
  • Natural Calm works for me too.
  • Hot organic ginger tea seems to do the trick for me.
