Happy Thanksgiving US IPers!

I love that our holiday is a Thursday and it gives many of us a long-weekend

Don't forget there are MANY people who have stayed OP for Thanksgiving and it takes as much planning to stay OP as it does to decide to go off. I followed a long-line of people who were able to stay OP for every major holiday for an entire year.

Remember, too, that deprivation is in the eye of the beholder. We make up our minds to feel the way we want to feel. We CAN feel fulfilled with the people in our lives and a well-thought-out IP plan for the day to keep us on track. At the end of the day, all the food will be there next year. And you will be skinny!

Here are a couple resources for support to stay OP today:

Happy Thanksgiving!

You are absolutely right Lisa - planning and the right mindset can get us through all kinds of events. I decided this year to wear a really nice dress that just now fits me even though it's going to be a fairly casual, smallish family gathering. I figure looking good in a dress that is 7 sizes smaller than when I started IP will be a good reminder to me of how far I've come and why I'm staying OP for the holiday.

I have so many things to be thankful for this year and improved health is way up at the top of the list!

Happy Thanksgiving to my US friends!! Will power to all, if I stayed OP over Thanksgiving, EVERYONE can!

Had my 20 week weigh-in and I am down 1.2. Total of 60.2. I know that is amazing, but from some reason I have been feeling discouraged lately. I think it is just a case of the diet blues. Not because I want to go off-plan and eat whatever I want, because I don't. I can't quite figure out what it is. Has anyone else gone through this? Luckily for me, it just makes me want to make sure I am 100% OP with getting in my water, measuring veggies, weighing meat, etc.

Hope everyone has a great day with family! It is my sister's birthday today, so I told her that her b-day cake is going to be a donut with a candle in it. lol

Susie:
There are definitely ups & downs when losing weight. The hardest thing is to stay in it for the long haul.

Looks like the scale is still giving you positve feedback. Celebrate those victories. Perhaps it is time to set a minigoal to celebrate/reward (maybe something for the next 5 lbs?)

Or maybe it is just time to switch-up something. Are you stuck in a rut with food? Try something new!

Winter blues can also set in. Exercise can sure help that in me!

And I agree...if I stayed OP on Thanksgiving (last year), anyone can! It is all in the mindset

Thanks for the reminders, Lisa! I am so thankful for your leadership and support that many of us rely on during this IP journey. I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Amen to that! So thankful for my health, and I am working hard to improve it. What an empowering thing to wear your lovely dress today- you will rock it! Happy Thanksgiving!

Thanks for the encouragement! I can totally relate to what you are saying about the "program fatigue". Hubby and I are kind of feeling the same way right now. For me, I think it is just getting tired of the same foods over and over. Trying new recipes helps, and I have opened up to many new veggies (LOVING turnips right now). That is why I think the maintenance plan IP has developed definitely will work for the long term, as it allows for those occasional fun days. Getting to that point is the hard work. You are doing so well; keep it up! Try something different that is OP and see if it helps break your funk, or maybe consider a fun new workout class. It could also be the approaching long winter; that always gets me down a little.

Good Morning Friends! I hope you all are having a lovely morning. We stayed up late playing board games with my sweeties sister and her bf so we are just getting up.

I'll be rallying the troops soon but we don't have much to do except dress and head out. I made my dish yesterday so it just has to be warmed. Cauliflower Mash for the win

Weighed I the am and am down another 1.4 lbs. gonna stay OP to keep it off!

Happy Thanksgiving to all and I'm thankful for your guidance and acceptance in this journey.

Hi Lovelies!!

Happy Thanksgiving! The Americans in my office are hosting Thanksgiving. My contribution is Baked Mac n Cheese. I'm not interested in eating it because I know how it tastes and plus, I think all that dairy and fat would do a number on my system. Thankfully I can walk out of the boardroom back to my desk to avoid any tastes.

On another note, this week's WI was not good due to Aunt Flow (she REALLY kicked my butt this month). I was up half a pound, plus I was out sick on Monday with a horrible migraine. Been OP, but like others, I'm dealing with a bit of Diet Fatigue. On top of that I've been feeling guilty about eating the Strawberry Waffers (don't ask me why, lol).

Anyways, that's it from me!! Lisa, thanks as always for your words of wisdom. Susie, CONGRATS on the big 6-0!!!! Everyone else have a Happy Turkey Day!!!!

I'm excited about staying OP today. I look at it like a challenge. I already have what I'm going to eat in my head today. My birthday is Tuesday, and so I figure a good weigh in on Wednesday will be a great Birthday gift to myself. I'm so happy I found this forum. You all are inspirational. ♥

Happy Thanksgiving and Happy Hanukkah!

I am grateful to be celebrating this holiday 30 pounds lighter and with lower blood pressure. I would not have made it this far without all of your wisdom, support and recipes. So beyond the love and health of my family, all of you are right there on the top of my list of things to be grateful.

This plan can be thought consuming. I think if I spoke to the people in my life about it every time I wanted to-they would think I was a bit nuts. Thank you for being that outlet. For sharing your highs and lows, and for reassuring me daily that I am not alone in this journey.

Good morning and HAPPY THANKSGIVING! (to those US peeps on here). We celebrated thanksgiving last week with my boyfriend's family and had to make some of our own "fixings" (read: salad) but it was good. We enjoyed heaps of turkey and salad and it wasn't until the pie that we felt we were missing out. That being said, pie will be there next year, in a month, etc. It's all good. Like Lisa said, prepare - prepare your food, mindset and don't feel like you are missing out. You aren't.

Day 1 of P4 yesterday went well. I am not really too sure what the **** I am doing so I am really kind of doing a modified P3. Need to spend some time sorting through threads and information and get this down. Until then, I am being conservative in my approach. I did have an mandarin for dessert last night and sat back in my chair, savoring each section. Honestly, it was one of the yummiest experiences.

At my Tuesday WI, I went from 149.8 to 146.6. Lost weight in my 2nd week of P3. I know some of it was water weight from my TOM, but I think it also has to be in part from the running. Last night I ran. I still am following (somewhat) the Couch-to-5k protocol, but doing a bit more running. I was SHOCKED! when I looked down and was doing a 9.5 minute mile. I have NEVER (!!!) done that. I was beaming the entire time. Average pace with walking a bit - 9 minutes 58 second miles. I am blown away.

So, it reaffirmed everything that I have done and struggled the last 6 months to achieve. A lighter frame that I can move faster through this world. I am grateful for that. I am grateful for 3FC. I am super grateful for all the help and encouragement from all you that I have received on my journey. So, thank you.

Diet fatigue will cause you to crave thing - in my experience. I went through a phase were I was tired of doing IP and ate more restricted foods than normal (but not more than 1 per day, I just generally didn't eat them). It'll pass. Just remember to stop eating them! Keep up the good work though, the TOM is a pain in the .... well .... kind of everywhere.

I made 2 things, went to the gym and now need to make 2 more sometime in the next 3 hours.
One item needed to cool and the other needed to gel so I did them BEFORE my trip to the gym. My back is bothering me a bit so I'm also going to do all my PT exercises.

Thanks for the encouragement everyone! Perhaps it is time I start toning/exercising to get myself out of this "funk". I took some progress pics today, going to attempt at adding them into this post...
