Morning, all! Beautiful morning, a little mist on the river, a tug slowly churching its way upriver and the doves cooing. Ahh, but the heat index will be 107 today, so its an indoor day for sure.

Qyestion, please. I am going to Europe on Sept 10 for two weeks. I had hoped to be further along in my weight loss but I am averaging 2.0 per week though I have been true to the program. Oh, well, it is what it is.

I have five weeks to go and five pounds to go and feel that I need to begin moving to phase off so I am ready for normal, controlled eating. I am talking to my coach this morning, but poor baby, I dont have much faith in her having correct information.

How should I progress the next few weeks?

Thanks, Georgia.

Good morning! Today I have started the process of re- weaning myself off of coffee. I've gone years without it and when I was training for my marathon, I replaced it with Green Tea. Then I went back to drinking first one cup, then two in the morning. I use a Splenda and vanilla RTD but I know coffee is acidic so better to get rid of it! Today I had just one cup and then a delicious cup of tea. I love tea, and can drink it plain, so why I make this so difficult I don't know, but by the end of the week I plan to be off coffee again! I know I can do it, but I am committing myself to the goal by declaring it here lol.

Good morning all!

I've only been on IP for 7 weeks and nowhere near the next phase but a friend who I go to WI with is phasing off for a couple of months and our coach told her to do each phase (2, 3 and 4) for a week at a time to slowly re-introduce carbs and sugars back into her body. Seemed to make sense to me.

I could never live without coffee - would be very dangerous for those who live with me too But I think the idea of watering it down bit by bit every day for a while would work - make it so you don't really like the taste of it anymore. I have started drinking herbal tea in the afternoon and really like that now.

Well, it's WI day for me - fingers and toes crossed!

Good Morning! It can only be your decision. You certainly don't have far to go, so I think beginning to phase off now or waiting a couple more weeks, either one, will be just fine. Good luck!

My WI isn't until tomorrow, but, somehow, I don't feel like I have lost much. It is just barely post-TOM, etc., but after no loss last week, I could sure use the psychological boost of a nice loss. Guess we'll see what we see tomorrow.

MntRose -- Thanks for saying ya missed me! While I do believe that vanity sizing is a real thing, I can also say that there are actual items in my closet that I fit into at a higher weight than the last time I wore them. I know I've lost in different places -- more "showing" places, like my butt and thighs -- this time.

Make it a losing day, everybody!

I have seen a low acid coffe in the market, but I never paid much attention, so do not remember who makes it. Might be an idea for those who wish to lowertheir acid, or with tummy issues.

Thanks for the phase off info, I will see how that compares to what my nurse says. If It is only a week per phase I will stay on P1 as long as possible, I just wasnt sure what kind of lead time to allow myself. I dont want to undermine my progress.
Happy Day!

G

Happy Tuesday, everyone!

It's a busy day in the office today (Board Meetings) and then most of the bosses will be off on vacation.

My hubby and I are into our 3rd week and I am sleeping a bit better. I also have a bit more energy in the evening than I used to. Last night, instead of just laying on a sofa after supper, I took my daughter to the playground for 30 mins. It was great and she loves the Mother/Daughter time! My clothes are starting to get looser and I am just starting to fit into some clothes that were previously too tight. It can only get better from here! I am so looking forward to achieving some the NSV's that I have been reading about from all of you (liking the way I look when I catch my reflection in a window, fitting into a smaller size and liking it, etc.). I am also really looking forward to getting out of the 190's... it's so close that I can taste it!

I think I am starting to experience the big C. I have some Floralax that I might use this evening if it doesn't get better but I am waiting to see if my morning coffee might improve things first. I also think TOM is lurking not too far away... I had a chocolate craving the other night but thank goodness for the Chocolate RTD shake! It did the trick for me!

As for my hubby, he has lost around 12 lbs and people around him are starting to notice (no fair!). He is really "deflating" like a big balloon! I am so happy for him and so proud of him.

Keep up the great work, everyone!

Nobody would want to be near me without my daily morning coffee! I have NO intentions of giving that up but kudo's to you! If you are determined, you can do anything you set your mind to!

Wink Ideal Protein and Exercise HELP!!

Hi guys

Not sure where to post this, but am looking for some Help. I did Ideal Protein earlier this year and lost 30 pounds, I've taken a break and got into some serious exercise about 6 to 8 1 hr workouts a week and love it, I'm really hoping to complete a 10km by November. My wieght loss has slowed down and I'm fighting hard to stay away from sugar etcs and would like to go back on IP, does any one know about working out on Phase 1 any feedback would be great!!!

Thanks and everyone keep up the great work.

Sarah

Good Morning All!!

So, I've decided to keep posting and reading here, and am making the big step of placing my first online order for alternative products. Also doing the research about the phase 1 diabetic plan for DH. We went almost no carbs yesterday (okay, I had a grilled cheese after a total dinner fail last night) but hey! I'm getting there. And am keeping all the amazing and kind words in mind.

I'm open to suggestions for a first order, will be placing through Nashua as lots of people have suggested it.

Thanks!!

i've been told that *strenuous* exercise is discouraged due to the low caloric intake; however, moderate exercise can be supplemented with an extra packet or protein shake within 30 minutes of working out.

I'm so excited!! While my mother-in-law was visiting last month I found out she sells Tupperware, and I told her I have been looking for a vegetable crisper like my mom used to have when I was little to keep cut up veggies fresh longer. My doorbell just rang and there was a HUGE box from Tupperware for me! It included one large crisper, two medium, four small, a lunch sized one and two collapsible containers! I have just been using a huge Rubbermaid container I have to store my veggies and notice that some keep longer than others, so now I can put everything in its own container with the proper airflow coming in.

It's funny how much this excites me! lol can't wait to go grocery shopping this afternoon and load up on veggies!!!

Hi Ipeeps,
Beautiful weather in upstate NY.

There are posts about exercise in phase I, (Jennydoodle exercised all the way through) many people do it, you just have to take on an extra packet and I believe some people have 2, depending on work out. IP just doesn't recommend it in the beginning of the program, now you are adjusted, you should be ok.

There is a protocol for athletes on IP. I've seen it mentioned on the boards. Maybe do a search. Sorry...that's all I know.
