Don't cheat and drink lots of water.
One of the secrets of the Ideal Protein diet is that you want your body to transition into a state of 'ketosis.' Your body has to get cleaned out of sugars to do this. This can take a few days to achieve but is worth it because it is what causes the weight loss.
Once I understood this, I became very protective and respectful of 'my' ketosis. If cheating puts me out of ketosis and it takes a few days to get back into ketosis, cheating, from my point of view, is not worth it.
Also, it is ketosis that curbs appetite and prevents hunger pangs. So besides doing the work of weight loss, ketosis is worth more than its weight in gold.
Your body needs lots of water for ketosis to function. Dehydrated, ketosis won't work.
In a nutshell, my tip, you are doing this diet or your are not. There is no 'I'll just do the pudding from Ideal Protein' and expect to lose weight.
