  • Quote: I just wanted to say I find this challenge very motivating! I love tracking my numbers along side everyone's and seeing how well everyone is doing. There is something lovely about all the small, and some big, losses slowly chugging downwards. I check the spreadsheet multiple times per week just to see how everyone is doing. Great job everyone!
Now that you trust the diet, I can't wait to see what your ultimate goal will be. I used the BMI chart to help me determine mine.

Some of the gals on the 50 & over thread also introduced me the to the Dukan diet weight loss calculator , which may give a more realistic maintenance weight. It gave me one 10 lbs above the goal I set. This calculator takes more life events into account
  • That's interesting Lisa - I had to go google that weight loss calculator and it put me at 7 pounds higher than my current goal. I was kind of guessing when I put in that goal since I haven't weighed less than 200 in a long time, so it's good to know I wasn't too far off.
  • Just added my 3rd week WI loss! Halfway to 25 lbs already! Yay!
  • Thanks Lisa! Using that calculator puts me a lot higher than the number that I had been considering. Definitely a lot of IP food for thought. I appreciated your advice before and appreciate it now! When I reach my 10% goal, hopefully Monday, I will update all my info.
  • Minus 4 lbs & 7 inches for the week!
  • Quote: Scroll all the way to the right and check top column...calculation is there!
The column all the way to the right (actually second farthest) says "Total pounds left to goal (formula: no need to enter anything)" But I do see that that column F now shows something much closer to what had been mentioned (In fact at 300+ now) It did say 28 pounds the day I looked at it, which I am guessing could have gotten messed up and why Lisa made the request that she did.

Yes...that must be the reason and that is the number I saw earlier, and wasn't sure about meaning of the top heading., but the number made a ball park run at looking like the number for all of us.

We should do another challenge one of these days on inches lost! It would help those (All of us at some point) ... who have a slowdown see how much girth is gone! My own weight has really begun to slow down on the scale ...but I'm losing inches and have lost total of over 36".... with 6" since early June! My size continues to change and I'm real happy with that!!! Nothing I wore on vacation in June fits any more...and I am wearing a 00 in Chicos...and pulling things from a 0-4 to start when I am shopping now. Resale shops are limited in what's there.....and kohls and Target's size 2s are way too big. All in all..a good problem...!

My husband reminded me, and I'd like to share:
.5 lbs is about the same % of my total body weight now ....that a few lbs was 6 months ago!
  • WI today -3.0 in week 2. Total inches lost in 2 weeks is 7.
  • lets rejoice today.... yipeee!
  • I don't understand the figurings for column "s" What does that number mean exactly?
  • Just entered this week's loss and met my goal of 10% total weight lost. WOOHOO!
  • Quote: I don't understand the figurings for column "s" What does that number mean exactly?
