Hey everyone, I'm back from a long break... And putting on a lot of weight. I'm one of those people who eat their feelings and let me just say, cake always tastes better when your depressed, and I've been eating a lot of cake (at one point I had 4 slices in one sitting.... Oh yeah and who has time for a fork?not this girl! ) so yeah, it's been a dark time and still is. I did ww for 5 months and literally only lost 5 lbs so back to the cake I went. I want to start bake up again with ip,but here is my question for the pros: my day starts at 4:30am,out of bed and into the shower. I'm out the door by 6 and on the train at 7am. I start work at 9 which is always crazy, finally at 5 pm I'm out of the office and back to the train at 6 pm. By 7:30 I'm back to my car and finally home between 8 and 8:30.... Am I going to be able to survive on this diet!? When will I have time to cook?! Thoughts..... Opinions.... Help !!!

Good Morning all! Here was my yesterday's dilemma, wondering if I made the right choice: I had planned to go see the " Sing along" Sound of Music from 12-5, all day. Had a shake for breakfast, and packed a great lunch box filled with turkey, veggies, IP snacks etc..... and promptly left it in the car!! By 3 pm I was STARVING and lightheaded from only having the shake that morning and had a 30 min walk/run earlier.... so of all the snacks available (popcorn, candy, and chips...) I chose a bag of peanuts hoping it was the least destructive... anyone have any suggestions to handle a situation like that again? SHould I have waited it out until 6 pm when I got home?

Hey skinny bride- YES you can! In the beginning my favorite part of the diet was that you don't have to cook, as you can rely on the packets and plenty of plan ahead options ( lunch meat, pre cooked chicken in the fridge, boiled eggs, veggies...) However, I found that as time went on I actually was extremely motivated to cook, because I could make way yummier things like cauliflower pizza and stir fry rice and zucchini noodles than I could ever find in any packet or restaurant. Of course if you are out and about you can always find a grilled chicken salad... the key is PLANNING ahead and you will be a success! ( Note- except if you plan ahead and then leave your food in the car like I just did, but that's another story =) Good Luck!

skinnybride2be- we can do anything we set our minds to do. You can do it!!! It might take a little extra planning on the weekends, but you can cook on Sunday and only have to cook once during the week, or the rotisserie chicken from the grocery store goes a long way, too. Always have extra packets around: in your purse, car, desk, etc so if you get stuck in a situation (late at work) you have something to grab. There's a wealth of knowledge and encouragement here from people who made it work. I hope you join us.

Weird IP dream last night. I dreamt I was sitting down to eat and when I looked down at my plate I had two 6 inch Subway sub sandwiches on my plate. One was lettuce and gobs of mayo the other was white cheddar and gobs of mayo. I kept taking big bites and the mayo was squeezing out the sides and all over my fingers and I kept licking them! The taste was so good! For some reason I had no control over eating it, even though I didn't want to be eating it!

Crazy dream! lol. And now thinking back, kinda gross.

I've had flavored Dunkin Doughnuts coffee beans. Just double check the ingredients when you buy the one you want to make sure they don't add sugar, but it should be ok.

I have always used flavored coffee and have had no problems. (The first time on IP I lost 27 lbs in 6 weeks and I used flavored coffee daily.) I have it every morning with my powdered chocolate drink mixed with ice in a blender. My favorite is Godiva chocolate flavored coffee. It has no sugar added or sweetners, just delicious chocolate taste
It really does act like a starbucks frappuchino substitute. Yum!

Okay I am a dork. It was TEN weeks (not six weeks) that I was on IP and lost the 27 lbs!!

Regardless, this diet rocks because of the incredible losses you obtain when following the program. It is what is keeping me OP, even when my family eats all the forbidden goodies (bread, cheese, etc....) It truly is worth it when it's time to weigh in.

I hope everyone has a great week!!!

After a great start on IP, I have fallen off the wagon in the last couple months and gained back 8 pounds of the 19 I'd lost. Back on as of today and looking forward to finally achieving my goal. I'm finally in a good place where I can establish a routine. Moving onward and looking forward!

Today is my first day on the Ideal Diet. Have done WW and it worked to lose but can't seem to keep it off. Hoping the structured food will get me back on track.

Good morning fellow IPers, hope you all had a OP weekend

Flabadub15, I did WW before IP, and yes the structured program and food definitely helps. Just follow your sheet and you will be successful.
