Default IP potato puree rolls - will it work without baking soda?

I am dying for something breadlike. I have potato puree, egg whites and baking powder but no baking soda. Will it still work? I would hate to waste a packet!!!! Any suggestions appreciated.

I made it w/baking powder by mistake once. It wasn't as fluffy, dense would be a good way to describe it but it tasted ok. I thought I'd under baked it but that wasn't it...oops.
