Unhappy TOM or Weightloss stall?

Hi. I am also new to this site. I have done IP several years ago successfully but gained some back a year ago. Back to work...but it's moving very slowly... since I developed hypothyroidism...I am very frustrated. My loss is about a pound a week if I am perfect on the program. Unfortunately my TOM has hit and up 1.5 pounds since yesterday... I know it's probably fluid retention... just frustrated...Any suggestions?

Give yourself a beak from the scale and chug your water! Increasing my fluids always helps me feel better, and helps get rid of the bloat.

There are some people who found that if they followed the program, fell off, then tried it again later that losses just weren't as fast as the first time. It could be just that you don't have as much to lose as the first time around, weight loss is slower the closer you get to your body's best weight. Some people seem to have a "one shot" deal when it comes to the chemistry of the diet - their bodies just don't respond as dramatically after they've been through IP once. Also as we get older our metabolisms change, and it may be as simple as your body responding differently because you're older and your metabolism isn't the same as the first time.

Remember that a "stall" isn't a TRUE stall until there has been no change in weight loss or inches for several weeks - sounds like you are retaining water, just drink like a camel and hang in there!

This is very helpful. Makes it easier to think about it this way and not get mad at my body when I'm asking a lot of it.
