Happy Friday everyone.

scorbett1103 03-08-2013 07:23 AM

Happy Friday!

Snow day here in southern Mass. Which should be interesting, as my boys have been at each other's throats for a few days now. I'm hoping it's just a phase, but the time-outs every half hour are kind of grating on my nerves! I've tried every distraction trick in the book, they are just at a point where they're seeking each other out to tick the other one off. Le sigh.

Spiritman 03-08-2013 07:47 AM

Very happy that it's Friday. No students today and nothing but prep time - which for today means I plan on goofing off.

Yesterday was a good day in the household - SV for the wife she is down a total of 10 pounds in 3 weeks - she's still a little sad that her loss isn't as great as mine. But I keep telling her mine was/is an anomaly and out of the ordinary. It doesn't help she is having an absolutely terrible time at work right now and TOM is approaching. But she stayed strong and didn't give in to any temptations.

NSV for me was a coworker I don't see very often noticed I have been losing weight and mentioned it. That in conjunction with my clothes are starting to appear extra baggy was/is an ego boost.

Today is casual day at work so I might blow the dust off a pair of jeans I "retired" because they were too small. They might actually fit now. The day is full of possibilities. Take care all.

Yay for your wife. I hope she realizes that women lose weight much slower than men. It's frustrating but it's a fact of life. You guys have it made!

Ugh! Good luck with that! I don't have kids but the cats are at each others throats lately cause they are going stir crazy too! They've taken to terrorizing the dog (a wussy pitbull) so she's always cringing when they walk by her. She won't even walk down the hall if one of them is sitting there! LOL

Good morning everyone! As I have been spending lots of time reading on this site, I see a lot of you wonderful people mentioning enzymes and probiotics. I am confused. Are both of these recommended or either. What are the reasons for taking them, and when should I take them? Are there recommended brands or sources to get them. Wonderful losses this week...you all really inspire me. Have a great Friday everyone.

I thought this day would never happen to me again. For the first time in 10 years I am back in

ONE-DERLAND.

This mini-goal has been a struggle at 2 pounds a week but so well worth it with all the compliments I'm getting.

Keep Strong everyone....it does get better

My morning has been Great. I lost 4.8lbs this week and i decided to venture away from the usual chocolate drink that i drink every single day and opted for the Blueberry Crangranata drink. Its the closest thing to juice that i have had in 6 weeks. I am well Chuffed:D

Glover girl 03-08-2013 09:07 AM

Good morning and congrats to all on your great success! I actually managed to lose weight on vacation, a true first for me.:D I find it is much more difficult to manage everything when on the go, but like Lisa said plan, plan, plan! Hope you all have a great weekend. I am off to do housework aerobics. :dizzy:

Awww, poor baby! I gotta admit, this made me laugh out loud a little . . . hoodlum cats, wussy pitbull . . . there's a cartoon in there somewhere.

Spiritman -- I really enjoy your posts each day, always cheerful and funny. I can relate to your wife, but she must remember that her body is an extremely complex, highly-nuanced instrument designed for many divine things . . . unlike the male body which, in the words of Elaine on Seinfeld, "Is just for gettin' around." :D

I'm taking myself out for a bit of shopping today . . . not clothes yet, but something . . . something is calling my name . . .I just need to find it. ;)

Have a good day, all.

P.S. I highly recommend the jicama-as-fried-apples thing cold. I had it for lunch yesterday, and it was lovely. The cold temp made the crunchiness seem more appropriate. There must be a lot of fiber in jicama.

Thank you I do my best. I think the bigger issues for my wife this week are her TOM approaching and just being extremely busy/stressed at work. I did get her to laugh when I called her "droopy drawers" She was changing out of her work clothes and I noticed her panties were saggy - from her weight loss.

On a side note from my earlier post - I was all geared up to try on my less fat jeans only to realize that I had thrown them out last month. So it's on to plan B. Wearing the current fat jeans. I must say I'm really rocking the droopy look myself today.:dizzy:

Snow day here today..Scorbett..I hear ya...my 8 year old enjoys nothing more than getting a rise out of his siblings...I swear he keeps a checklist of things to do to them, one by one , each day..If I could just convince them not to react..sigh--

I'm really looking forward to this weekend. DH and son are going on a cub scout trip..daughter is going to inlaws..that just leaves me and my 13 year old. Im really looking forward to some quality time with him.

heritagesoftail 03-08-2013 09:48 AM

Congrats everyone on there losses this week :)
I have a exciting weekend coming up with family coming in town to celebrate my Grandmothers 100th Birthday !!!! Can you imagine living 100 years . We are having a luncheon for her with about 50 people. Got alot of scrolls and plaques from the City and Government offices . Even the mayor is coming to see her. Should be a good weekend

Sammie12 03-08-2013 10:00 AM

Wow some great wi's this week! Busy day at work this am will be glad when my shift is over. Hope everyone has a great day

Ojenchilada 03-08-2013 10:19 AM

Heritage - awesome! Sounds like that will be a really special occasion!

A1Texan -- what a wonderful feeling! Congratulations!

Spiritman - I love your posts too. Keep up the positive attitude. Of course, I might be more positive too if I had YOUR results! :)

Scorbett - as we get closer to getting our own kiddoes, stories like that make me scared. It doesn't take much to annoy me. :)

Today is the last day of our vacation...which we have spent thus far in foster/adopt classes. It has been emotional and exhausting. I would really like to spend today vegging out, but this house is a total wreck and we have lots to do...like figuring out where I can lock up our kitchen knives and other things I hadn't considered.

Suchawittygal 03-08-2013 10:47 AM

I'm pretty damn happy today. I'm down 3.0 lbs with my cast on. That means I'm probably down closer to 3.8 lbs. I'm finally into the 140's!!

Surgery is in exactly 8 hours....ugh...I can't eat anything or take any of my supplements all day.

staceyjblack 03-08-2013 10:47 AM

Hey Everyone,

I read somewhere that you can become like a lifetime member at Nashua, but that you have to select an option when completing an order online. Does anyone have more information about this?

Thanks in advance!

ZOMBIEDAWN 03-08-2013 11:00 AM

I go n for my week 2 weigh in today. It's crazy how fast these changes are coming!

Stacey - At the end of your order there is a comment box where you can leave a message that you want to become a lifetime member. You will complete your order and email you about your request. Once you give them the approval they will charge you for the membership and give you the 10% discount on your order. On all future orders you'll see that 10% already applied at checkout.

Hope this helps because they don't advertise this at all on their website.

Haha! I just got one of those "Did you change your hair?" questions from one of the guys at work! I almost started laughing! I just said "Well, I brushed it this morning"...So I'll take that as a compliment since he noticed something had changed!

Bella73123 03-08-2013 11:24 AM

Hey Everyone! It's been about a month give or take since I've been on here. Life has gotten so hectic! Our wedding is in 3 months, and my future hubby is starting his own business! So exciting, lots of work and lots going on. Not sure that this is the best time to get back on track, but I wanted to be in a healthy weight range for my 40th birthday, so that only gives me 10 weeks to get the last of this weight off!
Happy to be back, good to see some familiar faces!

Yes! 8oz ground meat, 2 cups of Selected veggies (pickles included), Walden Farms Russian or Thousand Island dressing, and lettuce - nothing there that isn't safe on P1!

Shawsy 03-08-2013 11:30 AM

Haven't heard that "One-Derland" reference before. Probably would not have paid much attention because it was more like "Pipe-Dream Land" until recently.

Congratulations on reaching it, Texan. I'm hoping to join you in One-Derland shortly.

Welcome to Onderland Texan, I recently got here myself and know how wonderful it is to arive. Big hugs to you.

My throat and ears seem to hurt more this morning and now my sinuses seem to be joining the party. Any ideas what I can take to help me through my work day? I struggled with just ibuprofen yesterday but the talking to people is so much harder with a sore throat.

Sounds like you have a little sinus infection going on - any OTC decongestant pill will be fine, I usually go for Advil Cold & Sinus. If you notice that you get feverish, that would be the time to call the doc as you may need an antibiotic.

Good luck!

leannekarella 03-08-2013 11:34 AM

A1 Texan - CONGRATS! I sooo cannot wait to be able to post that myself!!!

Scorbett - That would be why I stopped at ONE child ;) She just picks fights with us parents, not a sibling...and I'm the boss, that's why.

TrixieBesMonty - Yeahhh about the workout pants.

Suchawittygal - Thoughts with you today for an easy surgery and hoping for a speedy recovery.

Everyone, such great losses this week!

For me, the scale finally moved. Officially .4 lb for the week, which I'm not complaining about at all because I FEEL skinny this morning. All the water retention etc is gone and I feel really good this morning.

Anyone else notice such a difference in their face they don't recognize themselves in the mirror? Yesterday, I got out of the shower and was like...WHO is that? I think I've lost the most weight in my cheeks and happily, my double chin is almost gone...but I was in my 20's the last time I had a "thin" face and now that I'm almost 40, my "thin" face doesn't look like ME anymore. Will take a while to get used to it.

Out to dinner with a friend tonight! I'm thinking a steak sounds good today... ;)

Have a great day everyone!

Bellamack 03-08-2013 11:38 AM

Congrats to A1Texan and Scorbett you are past your goal.

I am vacationing in Florida for the month of March and not missing the weather in upstate NY! We swam with the Manatees the other day, it was so awesome, such gentle creatures. Got to see a baby nursing (which is a very rare experience). We were going to Universal studios today, but was up last night with a backache, so we will go on monday. Today is going to be 75 degrees, my favorite temperature.

Congrats to everyone and Good Luck in surgery today suchawittygal, is it your foot? please tell me "no", I tore a tendon last august have done everything, including an 8 week cast and it is still bothering me. grrrr
It's about you today, not me. lol. I am thinking of you :)

Donna Gel 03-08-2013 11:44 AM

I am new here and I am really enjoying you all sharing your successes and failures. IT is very encouraging to me.

I have had an odd week this week. Two days of not really feeling like eating, trust me that does not happen!!

Wednesday evening while helping haul furniture out to a clients truck, I slipped on the ice and knocked myself silly (ier). Husband took me to ER because he thinks I knocked myself out.

I was in pain yesterday and the headache was massive so I really didn't eat much then either. I am feeling SO sore today, no headache, but should see improvement now as I just got back from the Chiropractor.

Did get in a brisk walk after my appointment, hoping my muscles will loosen up enough for me to get something done today.

I want to have all this excess weight off before the opening so I need to really stick to protocol.

We are heading into a few busy busy weeks. 6 weeks until the Artisan Market opens, we get the key next Thursday, 2 weeks early. :carrot:

God Bless all

Jeaner - I use a probiotic but I don't think it's mandatory on this diet. I do it to help me not have problems with consitpation. It really helps me be regular. I user the 365 brand probiotics from Whole Foods. I take it at night with the rest of my other pills. It kind of reminds of that Activia commerical.. if you take it, you may become more "regular".

And Happy Friday everyone! So excited about onederland for Texan! Way to GEaux! Hope you all have a skinnyfeeling day and weekend!!

Hi Jeaner,

I started taking a probiotic about a week and half ago because I was having some serious issues with constipation, and I'm worried about using too much Smooth Move tea or any other "movement" stuff, because overuse can make the body stop working properly. The probiotics take a while to kick in, really work, but I can say that finally, I seem to have normalized...for the most part.

They are not mandatory on the diet at all, and I'm not sure if there's no issue they're needed. Some people take them all the time, even before this diet, there's nothing wrong with them, and they're supposed to be good for the body.

I just picked up one from Walmart that was mid-range in price (they're pretty expensive) and they're just one a day (I take it with breakfast).

Congrats on getting to onederland texan!!

Well, MA is covered in snow again. I thought it was only supposed to be a few inches but there's about a foot and a half out there. I just got back in from digging my car out and that snow was HEAVY. I think I pulled a muscle in my chest. So, now I'm relaxing and eating a bar and some water. I have to leave for work in an hour and am not excited about driving. Everyone is saying the roads are HORRIBLE.
