This has been discussed a LOT on this thread. Or maybe the alt thread |
I just saw!! My bad!! Thanks for replying!!
|
I just saw something in my Facebook feed that Quest is also coming out with a line of protein powders!
|
I had to jump in on the Sucralose comment earlier. I'd be careful about assuming that there's anything wrong with Sucralose...
http://www.snopes.com/medical/toxins/splenda.asp Given how hard it can be to find food that's ok for the IP diet, I'd be careful about limiting yourself based on one (questionable) study. Also, thanks for the info on the Quest chips. I'm going to see about ordering some of those for my snack option. |

Drugstore.com has Quest bars on sale for $24.99 per box of 12... and you get free shipping if your order is over $35.... and if you use Ebates, you will get 4% cash back on your purchase.

For the price, I'd like a sample first. I've contacted quest to see if they're making any sample packets. I'd really like to buy a sampler set and try each one before I shell out $40 for a 2 lb jug of something I may or may not like. This happened to me with syntrax nectar. I love the fruity flavors but it just isn't rich and creamy enough for me for the chocolate truffle flavor. I also bought a set of whey protein powders once from Dr. Mercola & was underwhelmed. |

Thanks Lisa! oh are you talking about the fat, carb, protein % in the alternate thread? according to that (and yes i have been reading dat diligently:)) this thing looks like it will be IP friendly? But i have been reading so many threads together that i might have missed something or forgotten it. SO, please bear with me. Thanks! |
I ordered the chocolate...says it ships on 11/12---I can't wait to try it! I like their chips too. I've had control issues with the bars...so for now I'm staying away from those.
|
My favorites so far:
Banana Nut - microwaved apple pie - cookies Chocolate peanut butter - plain, cookie, microwaved Double choc chunk - plain, have not had it any other way Cookies and cream- plain, have not tried another way. Don't like the choc brownie or strawberry cheesecake. Fun to experiment. |

I've really enjoyed the Quest chips. BBQ and Salt and Vinegar are pretty awesome. "OnAQuest" worked for me for free shipping from Quest.
|
I got my chocolate powder from Quest today. I always put more than 8 oz of water in my shakes...so even putting probably 12 or more oz....I was so surprised at how thick and creamy they are! I Liked it so much that I ordered strawberry, vanilla and chocolate too. I probably should have waited to see if I still lose weight with them...but I went with a hunch. I"ll report back how it's doing for me once I've had them for a week or so.

My Quest packet just arrived!! yippe!!Cant wait to try the powder and the chips!! :)
My verdict- It is yummy as a hot and a cold drink. And i drank cold 1st before heating it in the microwave:) I then sprinkled a pinch of coffee on top:) I wish i cud attach the picture I had taken for u guys!!! No more IP choco powder mix!! unless i have to dat is:) Still ave to figure out what is cheaper tho and oh hope that it still helps me melt my fat!! But so far Iam happy dat is it atleast yummy and I can even bake with it in the future!! JOY!!:) Ok BBQ Quest chips review: could be more spicier and saltier. But I still like them. The infamous papery taste does not bother me coz I eat fast. PS: my taste buds r very forgiving! just an fyi. |
Baked double choc chunk Quest bars are the best thing I have eaten in 6 months. Wow!

I baked peanutbutter chocolate, was nice to see how i could make them like that, little square cookies lol.....you can put them in a bag and if you just want one its ready.
|
I really like the new protein powders. I ordered chocolate first...then the strawberry, vanilla & peanut butter. They came in today. The strawberries & cream flavor was WAY less filled than the other flavors. Not much over half way filled. I wonder if there was a mistake with my container?
I tried the PB right away...it is yummy!! |
Hi all, I am sorry if this question has been asked before!!! So, I am eating 1Quest double chocolate chunk bar (love<3) almost everyday now. I am not sure if it is restricted or unrestricted according to the *IP rule sticky*. I still ask coz I can't believe I can eat sth this good everyday!!! Plus I am now taking 30 DCC bars with me for my travel!!! Below is the nutritional info. Please advise.
Calories 160 Calories from Fat 50 Total Fat 6g Total Carbohydrate 25g Dietary Fiber 16g Sugars 1g Erythritol 6g Protein 20g Thank you!! |
Aria:
Read thru this thread to educate yourself. This is a restricted. One per day is within IP protocol (for an alternative) |
Thanks Lisa. I have read the thread and thats why I am a little confused. Unless my math is wrong or I missed something important in the thread, shud I treat this as unrestricted?
Calories 160,Calories from Fat 50= 31% fat calories < 1/3rd from fat rule Total Carbohydrate 25g,Dietary Fiber 16g,Sugars 1g Erythritol 6g = Net carbs is 3g Protein 20g Again, Thank you for being patient with me! |

I was looking at this sheet http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/4677467-post240.html and assumed dat anything less dan 160 cal was unrestricted. My bad. I guess it meant anything less dan 160cal is IP OK. Thank you SO much for clarifying that!! That saved me from making BIG blunders in the future and so much time hunting for answers coz I am packing for my travel(early nxt week) and a little nervous bout staying OP!But I want to, and ergo the questions!! Thanks for your patience!! |

If anyone uses MyFitnessPal, do you record net carbs or what is on the wrapper, which really cuts into daily carb allotment?
|
I record what is on the wrapper for both carbs and fiber. You can change what you are tracking in your diary on MFP, so I track both so it's easy to just subtract the fiber. Go to settings then diary settings and you can change one of the "nutrients tracked" to fiber.

Quest Bars - I don't understand...
Read on the alternative product thread that this bar was ok ( Great..something I can buy in Canada). Dashed down to GNC since their web site is kaput..
Looked at the back numbers and what is acceptable and they don't match...too many calories to start.. Apparently, the IP center is pointing folks in GNC's direction to buy.. So, what is the skinny on these things.. BTW, GNC also brought in shakes to for IP folks... didn''t tell me any of this.. Ian |
Quest bars are fine to use as restricted items (because of the calories).
If you subtract the plant fiber content from the total carbs, the carb count on some of the bars is within range for an unrestricted item, but the calories would make them a restricted. Quest also has a line of shakes as well as chips. |
Apparently there are some that have numbers that are too high and others that are ok as restricted. I know that the cashew-coconut and the chocolate brownie are ok as restricteds. There are a few others that also work, but I don't get them.
|
Cut them in half and use them as unrestricted?
|
This is great. Restrictive is ok...that is what I was going to use them for.
No luck on the search. I shall keep on trying. Are they out because of the calories ? With this sale, I can go on my own quite nicely. Thanks ian. |
OK...found the thread by searching this site from outside..here are the no, no's..
vanilla almond mixed berry peanut butter supreme peanut butter jelly coconut cashew Ian :) |
