This is my second week. I haven't noticed any hair loss; however, I started taking biotin in hopes of preventing such an event. I have (relatively) thin hair, so hair loss would likely be noticeable.
I used to lose a lot of hair, but now the loss is less than half of what it was before. I'm almost at 3 months. I also don't have oily hair or skin...in fact I've been using extra lotion and conditioner. I hope that all continues, cause its a very nice change!
Tons of hair loss last time. Ready to reboot next week and afraid I'll be a bowling ball head in no time. I think I'll start with Biotin at the same time as the reboot this time.
Just some words of encouragement on this topic. If i remember correctly you are not actually losing hair, just not having any regrowth. your hair is in a rested phase. this happens for two reasons 1) losing weight quickly 2) your body is focusing it's resources elsewhere
It is by no means permanent and you will not go bald. one of two things will happen depending on how long you will be on phase 1 protocol ... 1st if you will be on it several months after your hair has stopped regrowing it will start to have regrowth in about 3 months after it's regrowth has been arrested 2nd if you have reached goal around this time regrowth will start in about the same amount of time, 3 months
Everything including our hair comes in cycles! lol
I started losing hair as I entered maintenance. Almost done now (after 4 months). It's no fun but temporary. I had hair loss with pregnancy also (actually, after delivery). Bewarned I think the process is similar for those whose hair is sensitive to hormone changes.
5 months- 80 lbs. - no hair loss- skin feels a bit more dry, specially my hands, but that can also be due to the cold weather, not just the IP diet. I just carry hand cream all the time, and wear a moisturizer for dry skin instead- just like I always do during the winter time.
did P1 for a year, lost 125lbs with IP (another 25lbs with a natural path before IP) and didnt really notice any hair loss. I have thin hair but enough of it I guess. Been on maintainence since sept.
I've have hair loss. I had a small amount prior to IP, but just before 4 months and 40 pounds lost, I really started losing hair. I've started taking biotin, and at 5 1/2 months 55 pounds lost, it has slowed down noticeably. My weight loss was slower during this period. I am hoping that I am though with that.
I have straight, thin hair, and I am over 50. All of my thyroid tests I have had in the past have come back normal.
