I too had some disappointments cooking/baking some recipe ideas on here. I think what a few said on here is true-find the tastes you like, then play. You might want to just get familiar with the IP packs in their original state before you start playing?. Just a suggestion. I am not too fond of cauliflower myself, so most of those recipes gross me out. I adore real rice pudding but can't face it made with cauliflower...I'd rather add a flavoring or cinnamon and nutmeg to the vanilla pudding than a veggie.

Keep going-you've done amazingly well so far! Also, don't skip meals as it will slow your weight loss. The diet is already low in calories-any meal skipping and your body may just hang on for fear you are starving.

Default You are SO right..

OMGosh...I just looked at the label...lesson learned..... .read twice...from now on. Will count it as part of the vegetable for the carb content when making tuna salad now. My husband does NOT like mayo or onion......so I have not used any in years. When making a batch of tuna salad I use 1-2 whole HB eggs and if it's a double batch 1-2 more HB egg whites, only chopped celery...(used to use carrots too..he doesn't even notice or miss those) and 1-2 tbs of Mt. Olive sugar free relish depending on how big the batch being made. If the eggs are still slightly warm, that factor and the relish actually bind the tuna somewhat and we are used to it that way. We eat it with a big green salad for dinner...or cut veggies at lunch on the weekends ....and have for years. Leaving the carrots out is the only change I've really made in how I prepare this! Thanks or correcting me on this tho'....every carb counts!

That's just me, tho. The sheet says "dill pickles"

Thanks so much! The color is mine. But my stylist is awesome on the styling. Love him! Plus all the compliments he gave me today!
BTW: My 72 year old mom has hair about my color and hardly any gray. Can't complain about those genes!

Hang in there. I am only in my 3 week and it has been a challenge. I stuck with safe foods for the first 2 weeks (chicken & hamburger). The IP food tastes a lot better to me if I used refrigerated bottled water instead of room temperature water or even cold tap water. I did the big mac salade and loved it. I also made a pork stirfry this week and liked that. I have a few more recipes I want to try but am a little nervous. I tend to pick recipes that will allow me to pick out the meat if I don't like the rest. I also save my favorite snack for the nights that I am trying a new recipe just in case I don't like it.

You can have your favorite snack EVERY DAY! No need to save it. Make the plan enjoyable.

Gotta count those whole HB eggs as part of your protein too. I'm guessing you already thought of that.

If I did packs as-is, I'd NEVER have stuck with IP for 6 months! I started out adding veggie puree to the soup packs. Just the smell of those told me I wouldn't like them without some doctoring.
People who add veggies to packs are working on ways to get veggies in for the day (or I like them as binders in my muffins). You certainly don't have to do it tho! I've said over & over that everyone has different tastes. Many of us find cauliflower very bland in recipes but those who aren't fond of cauliflower, it probably won't work out.

Default Counting HB eggs...YES!

Yes Lisa...I did count the eggs as well. I just thought I "knew" what the label on the Mt. Olive stated.......because we've been using it for years.
So thanks again! When I use a 5 oz can to make the tuna salad... it is a meal for both of us...so the eggs boost the protein and along with the celery, the total calories and carbs also go up a little...then I divide it all by 2. But if we are having a busy weekend... a double batch usually ends up being 3 meals. Usually hubby ends up snacking on it truth be told..... And we don't eat bread. Me with the gluten issue and hubby has a glucose that hoovers at the high end of normal so he's careful. Good thing we like tuna salad! I watch for the water packed solid albacore to go on sale and shop it in quantity....
