It is very common that the clinics are from chiropractor's offices. This does make sense because they must see lots of people who have issues caused by or compounded by excess weight.

As you said the medical connection for most people is your family doctor.

Well as a Cdn myself.......get THIS!... i purchased my products from a spa...straight off the shelf. Thats it, thats all. To add to that? if they were out of a product, I could just walk into the local 'health food' store, and voila! there they are tonnes of IP. HOWEVER... i have been using alternatives via proteinwell (shipped within cda) as you get double the product for same price. ie: for 27-30$ two boxes of puddings !!! the other day, I asked my boyfreind to grab me a pack of IP puddings... as I had not had them in a while... and was running low of my stock... 30$ for ONE pack! what? omg.... alternatives...... all the way for this chickie..unless of course i win the Lotto Max tonight LOL

Mine is through a wellness center connected to the hospital. They never said medically supervised. I think all of us have to assume responsibility for ourselves and educate ourselves on a program before we start. I wont be surprised if someone takes IP to court soon in this sue happy nation we are in. What happened to personal responsibility? I have found most of us on here do/did our research, know about the risks if we don't take the vitamins and drink the water etc etc
Any issue that gets brought up that I don't understand I then research and/or call my physician for correct info.

This thread had me thinking this exact thing in the shower today: people need to take more personal responsibility. "We" want blame others for everything and then profit off of it. Yes, there are a few folks who seem less-informed but most people here have taken the time to learn.

i agree about personal responsibility, but I also think they are really stretching it to say medically supervised and I think someone would be well within their rights to sue. But as I said, the clinic I went to did not mention medically supervised. Maybe just because it isn't or maybe because it is against Canadian law to say that.

I went into a Dr B clinic here to pick up the much cheaper identical products. I had to smile because one of the nurses was having a hissy fit because she didn't approve of how another person was taking blood pressure readings.
So I guess medical supervision varies even when real.
At those clinics they pay less for product but lots more for the medical part of it.

Until this thread, I have never heard that IP was medically supervised. My doctor recommended this program to me but also told me that it wasn't an easy program and that I would have to be responsible for sticking to it if I want to lose weight. She also told me to call her immediately if I had any side effects or concerns. I didn't think witchy was a legit reason to call the first week though!
