There have been a few threads on this subject, this is one where quite a few people chimed in:

Taste is different for everyone, so even reading other people's reviews might not be of much help. I ordered a bunch of Waldens Farms stuff after reading other people's reviews and ended up with a bunch of stuff I didn't like.

I would suggest buying only a couple things at a time so you can see what types of products you like and don't like. Also, sometimes if you add a little something to the WF products they taste better. I've read the mayo and ketchup need something added to them to be edible.

I personally think the Pancake syrup tastes like regular pancake syrup, and the italian dressing tastes like a generic bottled italian dressing. I use those two on a regular basis. The other stuff I bought had been sitting in my fridge. I haven't wanted to throw them out because I might be able to use them in recipes.

I agree with ragdoll. Buy a few things that you generally like and see if WF's approach is good for you. The one thing I've yet to try that I'm interested in is the maple syrup. Everyone swears by it.

However, I've bought about 5 things (dressings and one marshmallow creme) and tossed them all in the garbage. They have this weird fake flavor that I just find displeasing. However, I'm an olive oil and lemon or olive oil and vinegar type of person, so weird dressings have never been my thing. Also, I don't tend to eat a lot of processed types of foods, so these taste very foreign to me and not a comfort food. If you grew up with that kind of stuff, or just enjoy it, this might be a very worthy substitute.

Anywho, buy a few and experiment!

I thought the marshmallow was gross also.

Everyone's opinions do vary widely on this - IMO, you gotta have the pancake syrup and the thousand-island dressing (for Big Mac in a Bowl). I use the sesame ginger dressing on stir-fry, and I personally like the caramel dip for that occasional sweet craving . . . . but it does have a chemical taste. Oh, and the ketchup is a staple for me!

I have so many wf products and I rarely use them anymore. I love the chocolate syrup, the pancake syrup is good, and I use the Italian to dip my veggies in.

I use the barbeque sauce on a regular basis, but I doctor it up...it tastes like regular barbeque sauce to me. I also use the pancake syrup, good stuff! The strawberry syrup I use in shakes.. oh and the 1000 island we use often. The others I can take it or leave... IMO the peanut butter is the worst!!

I agree with Fourstubbs, the PB is AWFUL!!! I doctor up the dressing with one of my teaspoons of olive oil and it tastes better. I haven't tried the pancake syrup but that seems to be the one product everyone agrees on as being good.

I like the PB on celery but the ketchup is NASTY. Our Kroger just stopped selling it and I am out of salad dressing...

I am surprised how many I like. WF has truly evolved since I was in HS. I totally agree they are better with a little something added. I use the honey Dijon all the time w/ extra lemon, garlic and olive oil. I like creamy bacon, sesame ginger and tomato Italian. Pancake syrup is good ( had it this morning w/ crispy cereal pancake.)
I wish I liked the caramel sauce more. Its more like butterscotch goop BUT even 1/2 serving satisfies a sweet craving.
I think the BBQ sauce (spicy) is an acquired taste but I doctor it up.
I don't think I'll ever get over the tiny taste of the PB. BLEECH X1000

I am new to this site and 2 weeks into doing IP, 11 lbs down. I was a bleu cheese person, and the WF bleu cheese smells like bleu cheese..but the taste is obviously not the same but I handle it, because I want the old me back
