Default Vitamin question?

I don't mean to do this intentionally but it's happened twice now and I wanna know the best way to handle it.... If I forget to get all vitamins in within the day should I double up next day? Take all I forgot before bed? Let it go and don't take them, and start fresh the next day? My coach isn't very informative and didnt have any answer....thanks!!

Hmm - I can't give you any professional advice, but my instinct says don't double-up or take them all at once, especially the calcium. I'd just chalk it up to a missed day and start fresh tomorrow.

That's just my opinion - Perhaps some of the coaches or more knowledgeable members will give you better ideas.

A High Quality Multivitamin only stays in the body for 8 - 12 hours. Thats why taking vitamins at AM & PM offers best benefit. Once a Day suggestions are sus to me as they usually aren't high quality & don't stay in your body 24hrs. Anyway I would just skip the missed dose & take next dose as normal.

Your body can only absorb 500mg of calcium at a time, so if you take more than the 2 pills it will just be wasted.

Calcium supplements also should contain Vitamin D3 to enhance the absorbtion in the small intestine. It should also contain Magnesium.

I take vitmains each day...I'm prone to anemia. I find really odd since I'm greatly overweight--yes, I know the 2 have nothing to do with each other, but still. Anemia runs in my family...my mom, aunts & siblings all struggle with it. If I miss, I just make sure to take it with my breakfast the next morning.

One thing I do find helpful in making it easier to remember to take my vitamins is I keep them in plain sight. If they are in the medicine cabinet...I'll forget. My vitamins sit on the kitchen counter, right next to where I keep my coffee mug. I can't start my day without a cup so it works well. Keep them visible & where you are apt to take them.

I was missing my vitamins at times. I decided that I needed a reminder and placed them on my phone's calendar to "remind" me to take them. When I open my calendar at work it looks insanely overwhelming now with all of my reminders!! I haven't forgotten one dose in 3 weeks thanks to the reminders

I bought this:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00..._ya_os_product

I take ALL IP supplements and a few others as prescribed and this fits them all. And it is a significant amount of pills.

Ahh, I'm glad I read this! I've been chugging all of my cal mags at the same time before I leave work. Won't do this anymore!

I don't know how organized you are, but I am not! I knew if I didn't have a system I would never remember the vitamins. I have 7 quart sized ziplock bags, and in each bag I have a days worth of IP and vitamins. I've labeled them off day and work day, having less work to do on the work days. This is the only way I can remember to take them all, plus, my daily bag is always with me in case I don't make it home in time to eat. I weigh in weekly, hence the 7 bags. I have 2 unrestricted and 1 restricted in each, or you could put 3 unrestricted packs if that's how you do it. By now, I know which vitamins I need to take at which meal, so this is very convenient for me. Hope this helps!

BTW, do not double up on vitamins! It's the same as with any medication. There's a reason for the "serving size".

I have a somewhat unrelated question about vitamins (sorry to veer off topic here)... how many of you just take regular old multivitamins? I take the IP other ones but I had a whole thing of women's MVs that I just continued using. I'll have to buy new ones in a few weeks- do you think it's worth getting the IP version?

I use all IP supplements. It isn't like it is forever, just a few months. So I will do what is tested.

I'm not sure where, but there have been other posts about this. Some have said their coaches allow them to take their own MTV. To save a little, that may be an option, and continue using the cal and pot from IP. I bought my last vitamins on plainprotein.com with a discount code. I'm not sure if there is a code this month.

I have read study after study show that for a normal healthy person, taking vitamin supplements has had no effect on the body whatsoever. If you have some type of deficiency, like your body doesn't make vitamin D, then of course taking the vitamin supplement is essential. And if course we are eating an unbalanced diet on IP so we need to take them until Phase 3. But by that phase we are eating a rather balanced diet, and the vitamins are probably not helping anything but the manufacturers stock price.
