Default Veggie "Shreds" or "Cheese"

I have seen a few recipes with this product in it. Has anyone out there used it without having issues with stalling/gaining weight on Phase 1??

If you do use it, how much for 1 serving and what do you count it towards??

Also, is there a particular brand?

Thank you.

Pam

I've been using them sparingly - a full serving (according to the package) of shreds adds too much to my day but I can use 1-2 Tbsp for a little flavor now and again. I count it as one of my "extras" along with any of the Walden farms products, splenda, etc. I've tried to limit my extras to 6 per day, and it hasn't had a negative effect on my losses yet

I think Veggie Shreds and Veggie Slices are the brand name, I get them in my grocery store where they have the tofu.

I love mozzarella veggie shreds! I also count them as an extra. Sometimes they are great on my lettuce cup tacos.

Are the shreds just meant to be served cold, or do they actually melt?

They will melt, but not as smoothly as real cheese. I have used them (sparingly) to top my stuffed zucchini boats and they do OK in the oven.

I have used it on my stuffed bell pepper recipe. I don't know what to count it as, but I actually had largest weight loss after having those delicious bell peppers. My husband and I just sprinkled it on top and let it brown in the oven. They were delicious.

Lettuce cup tacos sound great. Did you get the recipe off of this website? Sorry if I'm asking a question I'm not supposed to.

I tried the veggie slices months back and my weight loss stalled so I discontinued. Just like other things, I guess it depends on your own metabolism. I can use MIO with every ounce of water with no stall and some can only use it sparingly.

You can find it in most grocery stores. It will be with the tofu, usually in produce.

Sorry lilly, just saw this now!

No, I make lettuce cup tacos on my own. I fry ground chicken or turkey in a pan and add TONS of spices like curry powder, garlic, onion powder, cumin, chili powder, pepper, etc. Towards the end, I pour in some buffalo sauce and let it simmer and thicken. For my lettuce cups, I use butter leaf lettuce. I stuff it with the meat mixture, chopped onions, chopped red peppers, fresh salsa (on my tomato day) and sometimes a few veggie shreds.
