Hi there - I am close to completing week 1 of IP. Now that the first few days are past, I am finding things are going smoothly. The only thing I feel I am really missing out on is my morning cup of coffee - I am used to cream/sweetner and don't find the 1 Tbsp of milk my coach allows to be very good. Any suggestions for how to jazz up my morning java?!
If you were used to a good amount of cream in your coffee, you might actually want to give your taste buds a little longer to readjust. I used to be a "little coffee in my coffeemate" kind of girl, and I stuck to black coffee for the first couple of weeks. It helped "dial down" my taste buds.
Now, I use vanilla Ready-to-drink shake in small amounts (no more than 2oz) as my creamer in the morning, and sometimes I will put a 1/2 tsp of DaVinci hazelnut or caramel sugar free syrup for flavor! DaVinci and Torani both make some amazing sugar free syrups.
same here, the sugar free syrups are nice, I also use choc or van RTD as creamer on occassion. My tastebuds have adjusted to the 1oz milk. Some days I mix day old cold coffee with the chocolate drink packet in the place of water, add a few ice cubes in the blender and makes a pretty good coffee house type drink.
I use the Davinci syrup occasionally. Also, I sometimes use about 4 oz. of unsweetened almond milk - in terms of calories, carbs, etc., it's comparable to your 1 oz. of skim of milk - about 20 calories and 1 carb. Technically a cheat, but I don't think it's affected my weight loss. (Just make sure it's unsweetened almond milk, if it doesn't say unsweetened, it probably has sugar of some sort added.)
I mix a flavored hot chocolate packet into coffee, and blend with ice, and sometimes a flavoring extract or some WF chocolate syrup, to make a frappe. I have that for breakfast almost every day.
I had a spinach mocha latte about every Phase 1 morning, still have the occasional spinach pumpkin spice latte now that fall is in the air. Blend down 1-2 handfuls loose leaf spinach with 2 cups chilled coffee ~2 minutes , add vanilla rtd, pumpkin pie spice, & da inci sf vanilla syrup...yum!
I use to be a starbucks addict...and I mean addict. I now can do the coffee with just milk but my favorite is to add vanilla already made (either bought already made or I pre-shake it) and pumpkin spice. I love it and it gets breakfast done without adding any more fake sugar or carbs.
The cappuccino packets are also very good when mixed with coffee! I usually do that as a "grande" - I mix the cappuccino mix with 5oz of tepid water in my shaker, then pour it into 6oz of coffee in a BIG mug. Yum!
