Down sides of weightloss

Just a fun, ranty thread.

Less boobs
Less butt

And this may be the worst...
My shoes are too big now???? I swear I've gone down about 1/2 a shoe size. Just enough to be slipping out of many of my favorite high heels, and I'm a shoe freak. I was NOT expecting that.

healthyangie 10-10-2012 12:44 PM

LOL - yep, I went down 1/2 size in my shoes also, get the heel pads, they work and your feet won't come out anymore :)

When your "middle age", the wrinkles on the face show more :(
The boobs don't hang as low, but they're more wrinkly too :(
Loose underwear totally suck!!!! I have to get more :)

Ugh73 10-10-2012 12:50 PM

Yep I had to buy new undies too, and jeans, and pants, and I should get new bras...

tunafish246 10-10-2012 12:54 PM

The best part about clothes not fitting, is buying more clothes!! I have so much clothes that I love (and lots that's only been worn a few times) I'm seriously considering having someone take them in if possible when the time comes. We shall see.

What I hate the most, is negative people. Most people seem so happy for you, but then others will be like "You're losing too much weight too fast" even though I'm not. Or people that criticize the diet. "Healthy foods and exercise work best" ok, I get that, but this is what I want to do and it's working!!

ragdoll74 10-10-2012 12:54 PM

Another downside...I lost some of my natural insulation, aka fat, so I feel cold easier.
I also have to do laundry more frequently, because I only have a few things that fit properly.

healthyangie 10-10-2012 12:58 PM

YES Ragdoll - I forgot that one. My butt gets REALLY cold at soccer games now - metal bleachers are not my friend anymore!!!

Momto2cs 10-10-2012 01:01 PM

Anyone who says healthy eating and exercise are best either have never tried to lose weight, are very young or are in denial.

Eating a nice healthy diet high in complex carbs, and exercising daily got me 40 pounds heavier than I am now. Age and too many carbs can't be exercised away!

Ip is great!

Ha! I used to get up at 4:45 am to work out with my neighbor 5-6 times a week for about 1 year. I finally gave up because I kept gaining weight and she was getting really thin.

All the working out just made me hungrier and as hard as I would try to eat healthy, by the end of the day I would binge on carbs.

maezy1 10-10-2012 01:55 PM

Well I am only on week 2 but I am wearing pants today that i couldn't wear a week and a half ago!

fourstubbs 10-10-2012 03:59 PM

yeah, I need some new unmentionables! :) The worst part is something very bad happened to my boobs which look like crepe paper now and deflated or something....something has to be done about that!!!:lol::lol:

ROFL I'm having similiar issues

scorbett1103 10-10-2012 04:01 PM

Never being on-time anymore. Every time I try and leave the house my husband starts groping me! LOL

rofl306 10-10-2012 04:11 PM

Bahhahaha! Too funny ladies!

I had to check out the thread - what could possibly be the down side of weight loss...groping, baggy panties and jealous friends were not what I thought I would find.

Thanks for the smiles!

soulpatrol 10-10-2012 04:13 PM

Funny!!!! Upon gaining all the weight i have i went up a shoe size and sincerely thought i grew. i didnt realize that i just got wider even in my feet. lol

Willi 10-10-2012 04:21 PM

Champagne problems girls, champagne problems:carrot:::D

GoalFor40 10-10-2012 04:22 PM

Can't wear my wedding rings anymore, they are falling off my fingers. Currently wearing a fake set of rings that are not nearly as pretty as my real ones- I miss my rings, but I won't get them resized at this point, I still have too far to go.

I kind of like baggy panties- better than having them roll down below my belly, which is what they used to do!

I have ski slopes - my husband actually took one of my sons little action figures on a skateboard and it "ran it down the slope ..."

It's a good thing I have a sense of humor or he'd be wearing the baggy panties around his neck!:frypan:

Mandi85 10-10-2012 04:58 PM

My mom teases me that the expense of this diet is not going to be the food or the vitamins, it is going to be the shopping spree at the end :) I miss my rings too!

Kaypix 10-10-2012 05:53 PM

I can't lie, I miss the boobs...my husband has discovered other ***'ets though ;) so all is not lost!

Hgamroth 10-10-2012 06:34 PM

Deflated boobs and I have to double up on socks so I don't lose my shoes!

Y'all are too funny! :rofl::rofl::)

I haven't found any downsides yet, except not having anything to wear....

MommaHen 10-10-2012 07:54 PM

Omg...I am totally there with you all on so much of this, it is just crazy. I mentioned the feeling of having National Geographic boobs on another thread...and have joked with my husband about needing a "long" sized cup now instead of a D. I guess it is just time to start a savings account for all the ps we are going to need at the end...skin removals, tummy tucks, butt lifts, boob jobs.

I am also sad to report that my dimples on my face are starting to become wrinkles....yikes. I had my first gray hairs at 27, so I have been dealing with that, but I am soooo not ready to deal with a wrinkled face because my dimples are stretching out. I so wish we could tell our bodies exactly where to lose weight cuz I would really like to keep my cheeks and boobs. Oh...well, the pitfalls of being healthy! ;)

SMB 10-10-2012 09:00 PM

My rings are too big as well, but I went to my local department store and bought the little ring sizers! They're just little plastic tubes that you put on the palm side of your ring and they fit nice and snug! Great $6 purchase!

For me, no pitfalls yet but I'm only down 22 so we'll see in a little bit!

Hence the term "baking cookes"!!! Seems IP is notorious for changing our lives for the better in more ways than one!! Scorbett , better set your clocks ahead, so you won't be late for work!!! lol!!:carrot:

IPdivajen 10-10-2012 10:33 PM

I hear y'all on the boobs! I refer to mine as tennis balls in tube socks. I joke that if I do need a mammogram it won't be a big deal - they're already flat as pancakes!

And I just love the sound of my flabby arm skin slapping the side of my body when I put my deodorant on. Good times! Or walking in the summer and having my flabby thighs slap together now that everything is looser. Sounds like they're giving each other a high five! Sigh.

The cold really gets to me too. And the shoes. Yeesh! Especially now that it's colder weather and your feet don't swell like they do in the summer!

Ah, such problems we have!

Ip is great!

I worked out 4-6 days a week and counted my calories for 6 months -- and lost 1 pound.

Then I joined IP and have lost 9lbs in 3 weeks.

I'm not too radically into new clothes just yet, but I already have a few pairs of new sweatpants that don't fit -- I almost lost them while out today!so close to flashing a room full of random people...

Ok, I'm going with Miracle Suits and uplifting butt panties from Macy's. While I'm there, I may even buy a padded T-shirt bra. I have not worn a padded bra in years, I always bought a minimizer:D

Marina555 10-11-2012 12:36 AM

I am happy I didn't go crazy because all i was thinking is that feet dont grow

Downsides to weightloss.....

- can't shop at my favy plus size store
- i'm c-c-cold
- my smaller butt makes sitting on the poty less comfortable :o
- when I walk around in my nightgown I feel breezes in spots that I never felt breezes (oh gosh, perhaps another TMI!) adding to the "i'm cold factor"
- I keep wondering what these lumps are...they're bones, not use to feeling my bones. It's been so long since i've felt any of my bones, I keep thinking i'm abnormal.
- I do not look human when looking at myself naked in the mirror. I may be part alien.
- do I really need to see my feet?????

Big Ron 43 10-11-2012 08:01 AM

Yup I need new undies too and my shoes are loose. I needed to tighten my Birkenstocks buckles in two slots on each foot. They were too tight and hurt to wear on the widest hole. Now I love them.

ROFLMAO

sharrow 10-11-2012 09:55 AM

My stomach is definitely my worst enemy.

A C-section, followed by an emergency appendectomy, followed by another c-section.... all within a 3 year time frame, has left my belly looking like some uneven and lumpy sideshow exhibit.

I already told my husband that if I can lose the weight and keep it off, we are going to have to start budgeting for some surgical intervention.

healthyangie 10-11-2012 10:04 AM

Just found this out this morning .. goes with the bony thing..

When you whack your hip off the counter, there is NO cushion now! OUCH!!! That's going to leave a mark!

I was looking at my scars this morning- I had my appendectomy first (while pregnant!), then my c-section 20 weeks later. My appendix scar is barely noticable, but my c-scar is ugly and lumpy. I still have enough belly that it is hidden, but I think when it is finally visible it is not going to be pretty.

My belly is still numb- I guess that's with me forever. It's better now that I don't have as much real estate, but it's still there.
