Default What have you learned that you will use for the rest of your life?

Ok so I was thinking about this today. I know what I have changed about how and what I eat that I will carry over into my life after diet.

1. no Fake Coffee creamers (metabolisom killers)
2. no sugar in my coffee
3. I will continue to have around 4 cups veggies a day
4. Make sure I get enough protien

What about you? What will stay with you for life?

Food doesn't have to have sugar in it to taste good.

1--I do not need to eat the portions of food I used to think I needed to. I eat when I am hungry, eat slowly, and small portions are sufficient

2--There are so many amazing vegetables out there! Who knew?

3--Snacks can be healthy, not sugary, processed junk.

4--being healthy and skinny(ish) feels AMAZING!

5--I do not need fast food!

it's the hydrogenated oils. I don't remember exaclty where I read the phrase "metabolism killer" but it has stuck with me. After reading about how they make hydro oils I just felt sick. I don't ever want to put that in my body again. I would recomend that you look into it. Hydro oils are bad for you on so many levels and it hides in so much of our food.

I'm not one to argue for hydronated oils ... who would make an argument for trans fat? Not me.

I'm just not aware that they slow down your metabolism.

perhaps that term is not quite right. I only remember reading "hydronated oils are a metabolisim killer" in refrance to coffee creamers. But you have chalanged me to look more closely at that claim. I did find this artical that makes it a bit clearer. http://www.wisegeek.com/what-is-hydrogenated-oil.htm It states that because the digestive system doesn't know what to do with this highly altered fat that it can build up in the body leading to wieght gain.

Socializing/festivities are not about the food, but about the people, memories and experiences.

Your tastes buds can come alive again once you get the sugar out of your system...who knew how good veggies could taste????
