locopollo Welcome back, you had me thinking about my first trip to Jamaica that I think my gf and I need to plan another one since we had such a good time the last time we were there!
maile Yes sometimes I go to bed hungry, I think knowing what I eat everyday (tracking it) makes me feel better "no you are not hungry, you ate enough" or "you have room, you can have something to tide you over" Jenny Great job on 1 lb below goal! Lizz Post a picture of you finishing your half! :) Very excited for you...I'm still not running...still having problems with my hips, but I've really watched my intake so my weight is 'normal' for me. Could use a good run though...it helps me with my stress levels for SURE. Determinedat47 DITTO! Cap...where are you! ...come baccckkk... RUM....three of you commented on the RUM...I so miss RUM!! <sigh> :) So, I moved this past week/weekend...which is why I've been MIA. I have pondered the last couple of months...specifically the last month getting ready to move (when I didn't even put my vacuum cleaner away)...without running my stress level has been higher. BUT, I did not turn to food...it popped into my head on Saturday "wow, you have not used food to help you get through this...way to go GIRL!" So I wanted to share that with you cause I was pretty excited to acknowledge that. I know in the past I would have been gobbling up everything and anything. I realize my issues with food are just managed right now...but it's the act of managing those issues that will keep me at the weight I want to be at and thereby be more healthy for it. |
Yes, I too still go to bed hungry at times. I usually eat dinner at 7:30 and it is the last thing I eat for the day. Sometimes it is enough, and some nights (like tonight!) I am still hungry.
Did P1 yesterday and today, but neither day was really 100%. But I have watched the carbs, but had some extra bites and such. Ah well. |
So I saw a rheumatologist yesterday and based on my swollen knuckles, etc he says I have rheumatoid arthritis and wants me to start taking a drug call planquil (???)...indefinitely. I'm sort of shocked, as I was kind of expecting him to say repetitive strain and send me away....
At least he says exercising, etc will only help and doesn't hurt the joints... |
momto2cs. Oh my, so sorry to hear that, lots of experience with rheumatoid arthritis with my older sister....wheat being out of your body is going to help too...my sis says that taking the drugs slows down the progress. Have a friend who probably has it but refuses drugs...big hugs to you! :/

Thanks
I am researching the drug as my mom had severe arthritis and had gold treatments to get it under contro, which is much more extreme than the drug recommended to me. I definitely want to prevent long term problems...I really think my indulgence in Halloween candy prompted this swelling, although I have had problems with my hands being painful in the past. It was just "luck" that I saw the rheumatologist at this time. My hands have never been this bad before. The swelling is very obvious. Sugar and wheat are definitely inflammation triggers for me... |

Hope this works for you and you get to feeling better very soon. I am new to this group- started ph3 this morning, so I wanted to say "hi". I do need to change my sign. and all to reflect the change, it will happen. |
Welcome dizzy!!!!
I am a little more back on track and 5 of my 8 vacation pounds are gone. Whew. I am still feeling "big" though. Looking forward to that feeling going away! Anne, sorry to hear about your diagnosis. :( |

With the food choices you have already trained yourself to make and with correct medication you should get it under control. The exercise must also be a help too. How is your weather today? The driving is horrific down here right now. Pat |
Today we have brrr cold wind and blowing snow. The road are pretty good after a couple days of melting...it says clear for tomorrow, but who knows!
I had the same discussion about the ophthalmologist, although my rheumatologist said that planqinel has few side effects for most people. I'm going to see how things go and if my knuckles don't unshelled in the next few weeks I will start taking it. I hate the idea of being on drugs indefinitely, but I also don't want to let things get worse. Welcome to almost maintenance! It is a very good group here and if you read the posts I think you will see we all end up doing something a bit different, but continued posting seems to help with success! Anne |
Finally posted my gala pic. Leeann Rimes was the special guest. She sucked...didn't even finifh her set or have an encore.

Anne..You look gorgeous in that dress! That dress is so beautiful. I was sorry to hear about your RA. I hope the sugar and wheat free eating help...plus your new medication if you decide to take it. Good luck on you research..at least your doc says exercise is good for the joints.
Explore: How hard to be without power and to maintain. I am glad it is back on. Ishbel: You have come a long way by not turning to food during a stressful move. You are managing a healthy life. Way to go. Dizzy: welcome..Enjoy those Phase 3 breakfasts! I am glad to know others sometimes go to sleep hungry! I usually don't eat at night either. Have a great Thursday maintainers! |
