Question Having a hard time getting my calories in. Suggestions?

Happy Saturday, IP peeps! I've been tracking my daily intake via the iphone app - my fitness pal (very cool app, btw and don't have to journal on paper!)
Anyway, I've noticed I'm only getting 500-600 calories a day in and I'm on plan and eating my veggies, etc. If I eat chicken I get 600-650 calories but tilapia, or other fish keeps me closer to 500. Will that put me in starve mode and shut down my metabolism? How do you boost calories without always eating red meat?
Suggestions? Advice? Thanks!!!!

Salmon is a fattier fish, not sure of the calorie count vs other fish, but it is limited to 2x/week according to my sheet, so maybe push that protein more?

Ive heard some guys on here have up'd there protein packets...Or substituted there diet with a protein shake..Ex: Eat your 3 or 4 protein packets..and then take 1 scoop of a high protein shake at the end of the day to up your protein levels...Its not necessarily calories that you should be worried about: The reason for saying this is that your body has fat stores to draw from because you are in ketosis...So it will draw its sources from your fat (calories wise) Aka: You may only ingest 600 calories a day, but your body has over 3500 calories of fat stores( thats 1 pound at least) So as long as you make sure your protein levels are high enough...you should be okay...Although if you think its fat or calories...add in another two tsp of olive oil in..that will boost it pretty quick.

If you're eating 8 oz of protein, 3 packets, and 4 cups select veggies you will most def get your calories in! Make sure you are eating enough. Supper protein should be a full 8 oz. I enjoy every morsel!! I use my fitness pal as well! It's an awesome app! Just make sure you are selecting the right food from the list. The other night we had sirloin steak in the grill. There were hundreds of steaks to choose from on the list, but none that were plain grilled with spices 8 oz. so I had to create my own food.

Thanks, guys! I try to get in my 8oz of protein, but 8 oz of tilapia is only 200 calories. I could get some salmon, too, but that's only gonna get me 2 days a week. I'll look into the extra protein powder. That's a good trick. Trying to only do red meat on rare occasion, but I know that 8 oz of lean sirloin would boost it up by 150-200 cals. The extra olive oil is a good idea! All the higher calorie veggies are limited, it seems. Never thought I'd have this problem...getting in enough calories!! LOLOL What a blessing!!!!
Hope everyone's Saturday is good!
