My brother was on the program about a month before me and was having amazing success. He inspired me to join.

I first noticed Ideal Protein in February from a coworker who was on it. I was convinced she was nuts as she ate raw ochra most days, at least at work. I saw her losing her weight and looking fabulous as I was getting bigger with pregnancy (went from overweight to obese). I lost the baby in very early April, and then towards the end of the month I was depressed so I went to my family doctor, who prescribed wellbutrin and a shrink, the shrink told me to do something for myself and I desperately wanted to be a healthier weight the next time I got pregnant. Less than a week later, my in laws invited me and DH out to dinner and they both looked FANTASTIC, I saw that they could eat the food too, and they told me they were on Ideal Protein. I started counting carbs a week later, and 3 days after that got my first alternative packet in the mail, and haven't looked back since.

Now I have friends asking ME how I lost the weight...weird huh? It's a cycle.

I heard about IP from my friend LosingLawyer (we're doing this journey together). She and I had been walking everyday and trying to eat healthier for about 5 weeks. While LosingLawyer had lost 11 pounds doing that, I had lost NOTHING! I looked into MediFast as an option to boost my weight loss and mentioned it to her; she did some research and mentioned IP. We started last week, Monday June 3rd. So far, so good. I am excited for both of us!

My Doctor and his wife both lost weight on IP and he recommended it to me. I am so glad he did.

I'm not sure whether this thread is more for 'pure IPers' or not, but I'm going to chime in.

I lost a brother to prostate cancer back in late February. I'd blown up to my highest weight ever and my existing 'dressed up' clothing didn't fit any more... I needed to go and find something suitable to wear to his wake/funeral. Well, what an eye opener. I'd avoided clothes shopping in the past couple of years because of my increasing weight, and was completely depressed to find that I almost didn't fit into 'regular' sizes any more. I decided right there and then that I was going to do something serious about getting slim and fit again, and in my mind dedicated this to my brother.

I went online thinking that I'd maybe join up with a local nutritionist that would help keep me on track with a personalized weight loss program. Through my online search I stumbled across Ideal Protein being offered through a local clinic which I had never heard of before, in a part of my city that I rarely go to and would probably have never found by accident. It's name actually makes it sound more like a health club, and I wouldn't have investigated it. And it's the only IP clinic in my city.

This was a Thursday, late afternoon... I called and made an appointment to go and see them the next day - signed up and bought my first week of supplies. Meanwhile, later that same Thursday night I'd been googling to do more research about IP and stumbled across 3fatchicks.com. I hung out here as I experienced the ups and downs of my first week on 'Pure IP'. And I became aware that several folks here were doing a version of the program and getting reasonable results using alternative products. I decided to switch over to alternatives then, as I knew I'd be on this protocol for many months and it was really going to drain my budget. I was only on the actual IP products for that first week, but it got me into ketosis and smoothed the path for me. It gave me confidence that this would work...after even just that one week on the protocol I felt this was something that I could stick with. And I felt that coming to this forum would help me stay focused and motivated.

I find that the structure of the IP protocol helps me tremendously because it eliminates the guess work of what I can and can't have/do. I can't 'waffle'... if I want to see results I have to 'Follow The Program' Just 'Follow The Program'. So even though I've switched to alternatives, I still give a tremendous amount of thanks to the whole concept behind IP. Without having stumbled across it, and this forum, I doubt very much that today I'd be sitting here 23 pounds lighter, and still fully committed to continuing to my reach my goal weight. I was just realizing today that it's only -7 more lbs and I'll be at the half-way point to my goal. And achieving that final goal weight somehow doesn't seem so daunting to me, because there's a structure to this program that somehow just carries me forward.

So.... thank you Ideal Protein.... and thank you 3fatchicks forum.

I was intrigued by one of my co-workers that I go to lunch with all the time, one week she was a little "fluffy" the next time we went to lunch her clothes were big and baggy, I asked her about she was doing to lose the weight and she gave me the info and phone number of the clinic. I wanted to stop smoking first and that is what I did, I quit smoking 11 Feb 12 and started IP 12 Apr 12. Best 2 decisions I ever made

Two coworkers of mine started IP several months ago and all those weeks I watched them both "melt" away before my eyes. I did a little research about the program's effects on the body and finally decided to invest in myself for once. I'm so glad I did

I was reading the news on the internet and there was a video clip of someone who lost a lot of weight. Turns out they were on IP and couldn't be happier. So I made an appointment and have been on it since the 5th. I think it is a great program.

I had heard about IP from my boss and his wife over a year ago. They didn't do it, but had several friends that had lost a lot of weight. Then in Feb I was researching the internet for all the new diets out there. I had tried everything and needed to get the weight off to reduce the pain in my back. My husband told me that some friends of ours had lost a lot of weight quickly on a diet. I found out that it was IP. I read everything I could find out about it that weekend and I contacted the clinic in my area that Sunday and started 4 days later 2/23/2012. I thank my husband every day for supporting me thru this and accepting the cost. He knew it would be worth it and he is enjoying the "new me" !!! I love my clinic and my coach and it is worth every penny I have spent. I know I have support for as long as I need it. IP has given me back my life.

Several months ago I ran into an old friend who had lost over 100 lb..she had tried so many diets in the past and was never very successful, in part because of her health problems and meds. But this one not only worked, but she has kept her weight off for over a year. She is now an IP coach. I have been gearing up to get back in shape and lose the 60 lb I recently gained, when I heard about an info meeting re: a new diet plan. I attended the session, and when I saw my friend there I was hooked!

When I went shopping for work uniforms, I had to shop in the XL section for tops and L for bottom. Even at that, some of the tops were too small and I walked out almost crying. It was the wake-up call for me. Despite the fact that I had previously been a skinny girl most of my life, my family has a history of weight issues and I am in my mid-20's. It will NOT get better as I age, so I decided I had to do something drastic. I knew losing 1 lb a week counting calories wasn't gonna work, because I was already discouraged before starting. I didn't think there was any hope for me.

By some fluke of nature, I walked back home with my XL tops and passed in front of the Ideal Protein clinic which I had never even noticed before and saw their ad "Lose 3 to 7 lbs a week!" I just HAD to check it out, and here I am now 5 weeks later, despite all the obstacles, frustration and hormone release (gotta love that), 26 lbs lighter and back into my old "medium" scrubs from 2nd year of college. IP has changed my life and it will certainly continue to do so as I work more towards my goal of being 43 lbs lighter and 1000x healthier both physically and mentally.

So that's how I found IP... proving to me that things happen for a reason. The universe took care of someone who needed it

I read every story and it is amazing what word of mouth will do. I just started a new job before I started IP (hence the need for uniforms) and by now I probably had to tell about 50 women what the heck I was doing to "melt like that". Several of them even wrote down the name and asked for the phone number. I wish I could convince them that it's the best thing they'll ever do, but I'm sure time will take care of things. Sometimes I feel like an IP saleswoman, I've already hooked a friend and we're doing it together! I know it could make so many other people happy
