Is it possible to do phase 1, then skip to eating healthy & excersize?
I am planning on doing a work out dvd, Brazilian Butt Lift program, but I don't want to have to go through phase 2&3, if I'm doing this and skip to phase 4 will I gain fat?
The whole science of the program is to give your pancreas a rest and "re-awaken" it through phase 2 & 3. From what I've been told without phasing off your pancreas will go back to being the over heated engine it was before phase 1 and start giving you un-needed insulin. Un needed insulin will make energy, energy in our bodies is fat....so yes you'll gain it back fast...
Do phase 2 at one week if you feel the need to cut down on the time.....but phase 3 is two weeks FOR SURE no more no less...
I'm not going to go back to my old eating habits, I'm just going to eat healthier if I were to do that so I wasn't sure if I was going to gain if I ate healthy.
I guess it depends what you consider healthy.
If you add back a lot of carbs-including fruit, grains, etc. you will probably not continue to lose.
If you stick to protein, veggies and fat you should be ok.
Of course, everyone is different...
I tried doing Brazil Butt Lift on Phase 1 and there was no way! Very high intensity cardio. I phased off for a while for vacation and now I'm back on Phase 1 for a couple more weeks but I'll attempt the Brazil Butt Lift again in Phase 3 when I add some carbs back in and have more energy. Good luck!
I do at least an hour of high intensity exercise a day, some days 2. Have done this all through phase 1 and beyond. Bootcamp, etc. needing carbs for energy is a myth...
Height: 5'2.5" (us short people depend on the half inches!)

I am so interested in this. I would like to pick up TurboFire again but my coach said no. I am two weeks tomorrow andnfeel great (no side effects-although I am tired the last two days but have had lots of my sleep interrupted) maybe ill try it. Anyone else excercise in phase 1?
I dont excercise in the traditional sense, but I do some very demanding physical labor. Im a pipefitter and pipeliner, when we use wrenches, they are 3 feet long lol. Today I did a plant turnaround, major wrenching, and fitting all day, and just got home, 13 hrs in the field. I had the wildberry yogurt for breakfast, and a black coffee, the mango RTD and 2 mini cukes for lunch, and ground beef and mushrooms for supper. I too agree that you do not NEED carbs to excercise. My coach was worried about the type of work I do, and so far no issues, and I feel great on top of it all.

I couldn't give up my exercising... bootcamps, kick boxing, weight training... I kept at it all.

Hi Mom, what do you think the best source of energy is? It may be because of my chronic fatigue and whatever is the root cause of it (which I don't know yet), but I keep trying to either add more protein or more fats or more carbs and see if any of them helps me get more work done here, and it doesn't seem to matter what I try, within a couple hours of eating, I'm zonked and need to eat something. I know exercise does boost our metabolism, right?
I have worked out strenuously for the last 8 weeks. It has slowed weight loss some but the inches have melted off. I have dropped a pant size without dropping much weight. Even though I was losing weight, I was flabby. It's a balance. I do spin and treadmill/weights. On exercise days I either eat protein at lunch or add another packet before working out.
I really think there is a need for some extra fat when exercising. My body seems to want to hang on to my body fat if I keep things too lean. We eat steak, chicken with the skin, fattier pork, etc. I always eat the yolks of the eggs. My bf has dropped to 16%.
There is a good blog on exercise and ketosis called the war on insulin. He is an intense, endurance athlete. And a dr.
If you exercised before ip you should be able to adapt. If not, I would ease into it slowly. Sometimes focusing on just the weight loss through diet is enough of a challenge.
