I was one of the lucky ones who had terrific coaches, but I really commend those who figure out how to do this on their own. It speaks to your motivation and discipline. Nobody needs to waste their time or money on coaches who don't listen, aren't knowledgeable or willing to help, or who berate you. We are grown women and men and do not deserve that. Nobody does.

I was just talking to my coach about the inconsistencies I see in the coaches people describe here, and she said they do get training, but every client is unique and the coaches come with their own backgrounds and opinions. There are no pre-requisite skills sets/degrees for becoming a coach. Perhaps if there were, it would cost more than it already does...

I am helping a few friends losing weight, They are using the alternative because they can't afford IP but I am like their coach. I use my experience to help them. I want to become a real coach for IP and one day it will happen for now I'll just help however I can. Everyone deserves to be happy with themselves and become healthy

I understand about not weighing every day, but the small fluctations in body weight don't bother me. It is more about being accountable to myself and saying, hey, you are doing this, you are worth it.

I totally agree with weighing only once a week. Our bodies fluxuate so much and it is easy to get discouraged if a pound creeps back on the scale from one day to the next. I recently went to weekly weighing and saw a 9 pound drop. Nothing encourages me like seeing a loss on the scale. Prior to that I was weighing daily and not seeing much loss. On the days I only lost .9 or .6, I would spend the rest of day beating myself up for not losing much. The temptation to cheat would be more easily sucummed to. Weekly (or twice-a-week) weigh-ins have helped me tremendously.

Wuv, you'd make a great coach! My coach asked me this week if I had ever considered becoming one, and actually I had. I am hoping that where ever I end up moving to, when the house is sold, will have an IP clinic and I can see if they need help. I feel like a spokesperson now...

I agree 100% with Carol. You two are really special. This whole forum is special. I'm sure there are hundreds of us that would have given up if it had not been for the coaching and support here everyday. Since I've had a bad experience in the coach department, this forum has given me the knowledge and strength to continue on my own. Had all this information and support not been here, I would have just caulked this program up with my many failed diets.

Thanks. Love you all.
Molly

I guess I am a coach in training, now. Hope to have my first clients Monday. There is so much more to this program than I thought. IP provides wonderful support to their coaches to help troubleshoot any problem a client may have and it really upsets me, too, when some clinics treat it only as a business and don't give that extra attention to their clients. The protocol was well thought out and scientifically backed and works exactly as presented as long as you follow it 100%. I also agree that this board fills the gaps and provides the support we all need.
