Default Ideal Tisane Tea

I apologize if there is another thread dedicated to this.. My coach just got th Ideal Tisane Tea. It's good, and it has appetite suppressing capabilities. But it's $13 a box! Does anyone know of a suitable substitute?

How many tea bags in a box? Does it really supress the appetite?

20 bags. Yes. It really does. My experiment today was eat my lunch late to try out the tea. I was starving before the tea, and not hungry at all after the tea...

Ingredients: Green tea leaves, natural flavors, conjugated linoleic acid (CLA), ginger root, bitter orange peels, yerba mate leaves, dandelion leaves, roasted chicory root, garcinia cambogia extract, guarana extract, citric acid.

My clinic gave me a sample and I thought it was really delicious, but it also was too expensive for me to have every day. May change my mind though...

But, I researched the ingredients.

Yerba matte has caffeine and has been used in South America for years as an appetite suppressant. I bought some of the yerbe matte loose leaves and throw it in my pot of tea in the morning.

Garcinia Cambogia is also known as citrin and is also an appetite suppressant and I just got a supplement form to take.

Guarana is too, but I haven't gotten a supplement yet.

Dandelion leaves have vitamins, acts as a diuretic, appetite suppressant and support kidney function. I could find dandelion root, but haven't found the leaves.

Chicory root has no caffeine, but is good for the 'big C' and is a probiotic, so I add some of the ground form to my coffee.

CLA is fine, as long as it is a natural form, tonalin or clairinol. I just started that as a supplement.

I couldn't find the bitter orange peels, but I've love to put them in my tea.

So, if the IP tea is too spendy for you, you could choose one of the individual components and try them.

Good luck!

Guarana is a stimulant. I am not keen about it.

Can the Ideal Tisane be counted as water?

I drink my Tisane with stevia. I agree. It's good!

Anything that contains caffeine does not count toward your water - in fact you need to ADD water in the same amount of tea you drink (after the first cup) in order to offset the diuretic effect of the caffeine. Green Tea and Yerba Matte both have caffeine, so I would treat this tea the same way you would a cup of coffee.
