Hey Hey Everyone,

I'm super stressed today - going to have surgery on my toe...ingrown toenail surgery and then carbolic acid to prevent it from happening again. In the grand scheme of things SHOULDN'T be a big deal but the thought of it makes me squirm...and the thought of the throbbing afterwards. It needs to be done and I won't chicken out...been fighting with this toenail for years and I'm just DONE, so I want it done before it gets so bad the freezing won't work.

Any of you had that done? Do you think I could run in two weeks? LOL

I had it done on my left big toe, but it was over 20 years ago so I don't know about whether you could run. I also learned at that appointment that I could actually have the ankle repaired that I had been wearing a brace on for 4 years, so the toe was a little thing in my mind. I'd think the key would be if your shoes rub on the toenail--look inside and see if the fabric is worn there.

I had my WI today. Down 1.6!!! I'm so happy with it! I've reached the lowest weight that I've ever achieved on a diet. I've weighed less in my life, but I haven't been able to break past the upper 180s by dieting. My coach and I both think that my loss has slowed down a little bit because it likes being at this weight. She told me that as long as I stick to the plan, I'll break past this barrier. I told her that's exactly what I intend to do! I did lose another 1/2 inch off my chest and my waist. I have a 32 inch waist!!!! Yeah!!!!

I was just about to respond to your first post and I see that you are all finished. Glad to hear you survived. Now I am only left to wonder if your toe has a name...... :D

I have been contemplating this scenario myself as I may need minor surgery soon. What if you worked in an extra packet (like a shake) the evening before - right before bed perhaps. At least your system would have some extra protein to hold it over. Then after you are out and given the ok to eat something, start again with a shake or drink of some kind.

My plan right now is to have watered down pudding shakes first. I will do my best to get the protein in and work all the veggies back in as soon as possible.

Just some thoughts that have been running through my head.....

LMAO....yup...Tammy the toe, glad that my personality is really showing through on this forum!

Sometimes it's easy (my naming of random objects)...Martha took me a while to name because it has to "fit" if that makes sense lol. I name a lot of stuff...once had a gallstone the size of a ping pong ball (did I ever admit that on here before? lol)...I named him Stanley, cause Stanley the gallstone had a nice ring to it. At first my friends thought I kept it....but no...I just thought he was big enough that he deserved a name.

Sitting here bored....watching tv and searching for random crap on google now. It's starting to ache thou.

I'm glad your around ptod, looking forward to sticking to maintance with you! :D

I am glad my coach isn't a stickler for the journal. It helped me get a groove going, but my coach knows I have the program down and she isn't worried about me. I do recall when I first started that she mentioned that I would be on the program for a while and would need to phase off. I didn't know what she was talking about at that point. By the look on her face last week, I bet she was thinking about it again. I should have asked her, but I always believe that next week will be better. I think that it is time to do something different if not radical. ;)

I think I will read up on P3 and see what I would need to buy to make a go of that if I get the ok from my coach.

OMG I so Remember that!!....we are still YOUNG........Phase 3 for 2 weeks is amazing!!!...jus sayin :)

I had a feeling that you would remember that! Sometimes I am with younger friends and say things like that and I really do hear crickets. I so don't worry about my age - it really doesn't bother me so when I am asked how old I am I really have to think about it and even do the math sometimes.

I went back and read what you posted about being on P3 and your results afterwards. That might be what I need at this point - we shall see.

Just thought I'd share what my coach's coach suggested to me to shock my body (before she knew I was going to Mexico).

Shocking your body. There are 4 or 5 ways to do it. First, pull the restricted (bootcamp) for a week or two....second is to change lunch and dinners for at least 3 days, then alternate the switch every other day for a week. Fourth thing is to pull yourself off the program for 2 days and eat normally. And the fifth way which one of our clinics finds success with, is to have your eat only restricted (3 per day) for a coule of days.

Personnally, if I hadn't gone to Mexico I would have tried the phase 2 and then the restricted for 3 days...only because then I wasn't adding in food from outside of the program.

OR, you can do the Phase 3 like Wuv did as it also worked well for her.

Just making sure everyone knows there's more then one option (besides a vacation lol)

Inquiring minds wanted (needed?) to know if Martha had a buddy so I felt obligated to ask. :D Also hoping it made you laugh.

Since you mentioned I just had to do it......I just googled 'random crap' and it came back with about 29,100,000 results. I burst out laughing at that!

At this rate, it might take me a while to get to maintenance, but I am committed and quite glad that there are people online to virtually hold each others hands on the journey......or pull me up the mountain when necessary. ty

Did they ever mention if this really worked?? I am ALSO DESPARATE to get the scale moving again...

She's a coach's coach...so apparently the three restricted works for some 'clinics'. Apparently, if you are given permission to eat off plan...it's a hard slippery slope (check out that cheating thread - eating off plan without any real permission and not really waiting for an actual 'stall' sometimes)...so you should be consulting with a coach. Now, not sure if you still have one but I know you have Wuv.

I just went on vacation (mini phase off) and it worked for me...it's scarey Jelly, even going on vacation I was like 'whoa!'...but I just got it into my head that I was going to be back on Phase 1 immediately. As soon as the plane touch Canadian soil, it was back on and I was ready and in the mode to 'gitr'dun!'.

Whatever you do, just decide it's just to shock your body, after more then 100 lbs...it sounds like you should.

Good luck, let us know what you do and for how long.

JellyMae87 04-30-2012 05:06 PM

Well I am seeing my normal coach tonight (thank freaking goodness)... so I will bring up those options and see what she thinks... I am only seeing a 1lb loss a week. (yes Lisa I saod ONLY) for the last 2 months... and it's hard after eating like this for the last 2 months to only see a 6lb loss... Specially when that used to be a week and a half...
