Ok had the protidiet pizza today.. I loved it! I put a couple turkey peperoni's on it and a little shredded veggie mozzarella. The only down side was that I easily could have inhaled 2 of them. But the 1 did fill me up. I am very happy with this purchase.

Walmart (Canada) - Rollback on 6 pkg of Pure Protein bars
Just noticed this in today's flyer. Says $6 for 6 x 50 g Pure Protein bars. Assorted types. I haven't tried Pure Protein bars yet, and will have to make it a point to go and pick some up while they're on this special price. The flyer is effective Friday, April 27th to Thursday, May 3rd/12.

Thanks for posting it. It is a good price. |
Anyone else tried Xyla gum? (from LowCarbGroceryStore.com)
Thought I'd bring this gum to the attention of those who order through lowcarbgrocery.com. I've been using it this past few days. I figured it would be plan appropriate. Totally sweetened with xylitol. It's good, although the flavor doesn't last all that long.

Is there anyplace else to get the protidiet pizza besides Nashua?
Thanks, Pat |

I have to try that...sounds great! Also seems that after IP, I might want to continue using those and just eat 2 as regular pizza will just end up on my hips. Not certain yet, but it seems that certain IP type foods will be best to keep using if I want to keep the weight down (after goal of course). Quote:

I've been looking for certain wafer bar they offer and only Nashua has it, but I see a DietDirect.com has the pizza. Unfortunately, I see that they have a statements that they've discontinued their free shipping to Canada. Don't know what it will cost you for shipping. Plus, they are a couple dollars higher in price than Nashua. Also, Doctorsbestweightloss has them. Don't see if they ship to Canada. See it on Amazon, but it's the most expensive of all. There is another called Family Bariatric, but I they don't seem to have anything but US shipping available. Hope that helps. Molly |

Funny thing....you may not want to try at home
Good morning folks. I am on IP but using the Costco premier protein RTDs. Last week I decided to try a smoothie with my RTD. So I put ice, strong chai tea, spices and my RTD in the ninja and hit the Go button. Holy cow.. Ended up with more foam than I knew what to do with. Almost no liquid and all foam. What a mess. Had a good long time to laugh while cleaning up. Lol.

So I went to the front of the store and got a flyer. The flyer was valid till Tuesday but the bars were,t in it. So I thought there must be different flyers for different areas as evepet is in Ontario. But then I see lindsay is in Red Deer and I was in the Walmart in Vegreville and they obviously have different flyers. The flyer I looked at said for walmart Super Centers, so I guess they have different types of stores. I don't want to go into the city before I have to go in for the work week so I hope they still have some on Monday. Pat |

note: I just went the site and both the pizza and chile are gone - they may just be out of stock, check back again in a few days... |

BTW - I did buy the Pure Protein bars today at Walmart's special rollback price. (Hope you're able to find it locally, Patns). I had one for my afternoon snack a while ago - it's the Chocolate Deluxe type - seriously tasty. I feel like I totally cheated and ate a chocolate bar. ;) I sliced it into little pieces and savored every piece. My local Walmart has that type in stock, and also the Chocolate Peanut Butter type. And - I also have stewed rhubarb ready for dinner dessert tonight! All these tasty things to eat... I'm in heaven... LOL. :smug: And my cup of rhubarb (in addition to my regular 2 cups of dinner veg) will replace the value of the cup of celery (now a freebie) that I blended into my tomatoe & basil soup for lunch - works out perfectly. |
I used DietDirect.com. But I think Nashua is less expensive.
|
Ordered a bunch of Proti-Diet and Proti-Thin today. Going to use less of the IP products as the cost is just so high, and I am just half way to my goal of one hundred pounds to lose. I am hoping my selections taste as good as the IP products. Can't wait to try the pizza!

I was thinking that maybe there was different ingredients in it with what is approved in Canada. But if it was on proteinwell it must be approved to sell in Canada. I am starting maintenance and I am thinking these pizzas would be very handy when I get home from work late and need something quick and easy. I will keep checking proteinwell because if I am going to order more I sure would like to avoid the shipping costs. Pat |

By the way would anyone in Canada like some protidiet pasta? It tastes Ok, not exactly like real pasta. I realized after I got it that I am not really a fan of real pasta either. I will cover the postage, I just hate to see it going to waste in my cupboard everytime I open the door. Pat |
I think these are delish
Being three weeks into alternatives, I'm still trying new things. Bars and shakes are great, but I like variety. I've found a couple of things I'll highly recommend. The first I know is not restricted, the second, might be.
Proti-Thin Chocolate Sweet Rolls Calories 90, Total Fat 1g, Total Carbohydrate 5g, Dietary Fiber 1g, Sugars 2g, Sugar Alcohol 0g, Protein 18g Weightloss Systems Creamy Cheesecake Pudding Calories 120, Total Fat 4.5g, Total Carbohydrate 8g, Dietary Fiber 0g, Sugars 6g, Protein 12g I added WF Blueberry Syrup to the cheesecake pudding. Really good. Molly |

I did have the sweet rolls and liked them. But the first one I make I cooked as it said to on the package. It tuned out hard as a rock on the outside. The rest of them I turned the oven down 50 degrees and they turned out great. |
Nashua is having a sale on HealthSmart Puddings boxes of 7 for $10

page 4.. really?! |

This one was way down. Would have disappeared altogether if Cassi didn't bump it. Maybe everyone got all the alternative questions sorted out. Pat |
I just wanted to pop in and thank all of you for all of your suggestions. recently I have moved into doing 90% alternatives and yesterday my son started on all alternatives. I placed a new order yesterday at nashuanutrition after scouring this thread for ideas so we both have enough food and I saved a truck load of money. So thank you.
|
I too have started alternatives. I am not a super loser, even being 100% OP, so this is the better way for me. I like the protidiet products but I have noticed the vanilla pudding is way to thin for some reason. I put 4 oz water in it a stir like crazy but it still is liquidy.

I don't care for their omelets but the bars, soup, shakes, soy nuts and puffs are great for me. And half price. Last week the bars were on sale, I bought 4 boxes and doubles of most other products, now I have even more selection at home and almost the same at work in one of my file drawers :carrot: I did look at the omelet package and they are smaller and the calories and carbs were higher. It also bugs me that most of the measurements are in MLS not ounces but with their shaker the mils are marked and their shaker is 25 ounces. Shipping is wicked quick, they are only a state away in NH. So the Herb and Cheese Omelet and the Peanut Puffs are my FAVORITE IP foods so those have been a few I order every week. |
Does anyone know a good alternative for the pudding mixes? I really like the shakes with spinach, ice, water and IP Pudding packet - I bought the Whey Protein powder but it just doesn't have the thickness I get with the IP Pudding.
|
I loved the IP herb and cheese omelet, but found that I could use egg beaters, Land-o-Lakes powdered cheese, and Mrs Dash Tomato Basil or Onion Herb seasoning to make an omelet that is darn good for a tiny fraction of the cost. Need to use 3/4 cup of Egg Beaters to get the same protein grams, but then a quart costs like 5 bucks, versus $4 per omelet from IP!
I received my orders from Diet Direct and Nashua. So far, I have found that the ProtiDiet Cream of Chicken soup to be very thin, and less than satisfying. Too bad. The treasure I found was Bariwise Hot Chocolate Amaretto and Mocha. I made blended in my Ninja with ice, and a scoop of Protithin Vanilla pudding. Wonderful! Someone mentioned before that the ProtiThin Chocolate Soy Puffs were the same as the IP product. This is true - exact same packaging, at about 60% less cost! My plan is to move to about 75% alternatives. Having lost 48 pounds on IP, I am pleased with the program, but lately the rate has slowed to about 2 pounds a week. At that rate, it is costing me a lot per pound! Thanks to all for keeping this thread fresh with new ideas and tips! It is very helpful! |

Did you try the GNC kind? I don't know if it is better than any other kind but my son uses it, he is on a plan from his gym. It likely is expensive. Actually as I am on maintance I use ff almond milk for part of the liguid in my shake about 4 onces along with water and ice cubes in the blender. That makes the shacks taste thicker. Pat Pat |
Good morning!
I wanted to let you guys know that I tried the ProtiDiet Chocolate Shake Mix and it is really good! It is not quite as good as the IP chocolate drink (powder) but it is an excellent alternative and I will definitely be ordering it from Nashua again. |
The ProtiDiet puddings are good for a shake or for a mugcake. For me they are too thin for pudding .

Anyway I noticed on the other thread about people being in bad moods that you said you do get quite hungry. I don't get the "wild rage" thing so I wanted to respond to that post here as you were just talking about being hungry, not angry. I think you need to be careful as you are male and much bigger than many of us and also quite active. It may be easier for you to slip into starvation mode than most people. It may be a good idea to have at least one extra package. Also make sure you get in all the protein coming to you including the extra egg whites. Good luck, I know you will continue to do well but no need to be hungry in the progess. Pat |

Wow just saw 1# to go. That is Awesome. I'm doing a mix of IP and alternatives. I was ugly today because I was hungry around lunch but just swore at my IP packets. This morning I was in a great mood but the cinnamon sugar on the huge bagels were not what I wanted to see the kids eat. I said I didn't think it was a good choice. My wife said it was fine. I tried to talk about it more and she said oh now your an expert. That made me snappy back. It went down hill quickly. |
This week is the first since week one I've been really hungry so I ate more IP and alternatives. I really like the pure protein bars from Walmart. I feel a little funny about it but will wait to see how I did on WI Thursday. My water and veggies intake was down last week too so my coach reminded me to bring it up. Especially the water she said it would help flush my liver and or kidneys I can't remember which. Before IP when I was hungry I had to Eat right away. This is much more under control.

Thanks Pat. Just really read your post. I also bought some Isopure protien powder. It is 0/0/0/ and tastes OK.
I should use it more often. I might pull out the blender and mix it with ice tonight for a treat. I have some WF pankake step and chocolate step I might ty with it. Their dressings are OK but I was very disappointed in their peanut butter spread and jelly spread. It was Wicked Nasty. I kinda miss PB&J sandwiches and was excited to try one. |
